I mean, that’s hard to say. Cathedral’s only TD was a pick six and they had a chance to win the game by converting a 4th and 1 and made a controversial play call. Could have punted and made CG go 80-90 but went for it (I think it was the right call)... Jet sweep was stuffed and CG scored with under 20 seconds left. -
Nope. Beat me to it... Now go look what Westfield did to Zionsville. Gulp.

But you know deep down where you stand. Go down swinging. Moot point as we will never know but coaches (at all levels) are far too conservative on 4th and short. Analytics state that going for it is more often the correct call.

Not in my opinion. A conservative play call in that situation delivers the message that you are intimidated. It’s 6 damn feet.

Westfield better respond here or this could turn into a familiar story for CG’s opponents.

ESPECIALLY as the underdog. Steele just made that kid look foolish. Kid never lets the first man take him down.

And everyone will feel TERRIBLY for them. -
Yep. Great job by some rural farming community kids who have 1/3 of their school on free/reduced lunch who grew up in their community and worker their asses off. Built a culture that did not exist prior to their arrival. Kudos Stars!
