  1. And switched the location on a TUESDAY of game week if I am not mistaken?
  2. I assume you are speaking specifically for what they were able to do in the offseason and I really can't say I disagree but is that really measurable? Chatard, Cathedral and Roncalli just won state titles in dominating fashion while playing in Marion County. LN had quite possibly its best year in school history (Marion County). Warren and BD were definitely playing their best football BY FAR at the end of the season which speaks to your point, but for every example in that direction, there is one that I can find that contradicts that point of view.
  3. You don't want to be "the guy who follows the guy" rather the guy who follows THAT guy. Tom Allen has done some amazing things at IU and has proven he can coach. I do not remember the circumstances surrounding his departure from BD, but he was the guy following Dullaghan and lasted three years, never advancing past the regional. You'd know better than I obviously, but I think Allen left BD for a better gig at the college level as opposed to being "forced out." Were the BD faithful getting restless or was it just a mutual departure?
  4. Isn't the point of a message board to generate discussion? Good/bad otherwise? Doesn't life get boring when everyone agrees? Doesn't nearly every network (both sports and non sports) have daily programming where they sit folks on opposite ends of a table and have them debate and discuss topics for hours on end? I'm not one for folks' feelings and I will reiterate that if you get "triggered" to the point where you threaten someone and name call on a HIGH SCHOOL MESSAGE BOARD, the problem is on your end and not mine. Back to the topic. I see Center Grove as the class of the MIC going forward and specifically in 2021. I do think that the gap will close as the Trojans are suffering some key graduation losses and covid may not play a factor (lord lets hope so) next fall. Even with that being said, the gap closing (CG beat the two teams in the title of this thread by an average of 29 points per game in 4 meetings) still spells bad news for the rest of the conference. It'll be the same four in 2021 as always, but the games will be closer.
  5. If things that transpire on a HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL message board "trigger" you into a rant such as this one, you need to take a long look in the mirror. Others that I may have "triggered" have not gone off of the deep end like this guy. Folks may not have control over what others say, but they sure as hell have control over how they react/respond to WHAT others say and this is very telling. Funny thing is, I usually break that same quote out with the kids with whom I work. This dude just threw stones without even knowing what my resume is.... (Hint: I work with kids daily and 99.9% percent of them would state the exact OPPOSITE of the BOLDED quote above.)

  7. Not sure why we are even having this conversation. Was Steele defending those 17 passes McCahill threw? Too many in-game variables (mentioned above) to try to use the transitive property. I'd ask what Steele's stats were against Cathedral but it does not matter because McCahill wasn't playing defense. This isn't an NFL promo where folks are tricked into tuning in for Brees vs Brady. In fact it's Brees vs Brady's defense and vice versa.
  8. Something like that but I think you have it backwards.
  9. Also think this is tied to SES. Participation in athletics is simply not an option for many families who are struggling. Based on conversations I have with mega school non-ball sport coaches at high poverty schools, this is their #1 frustration when it comes to perception of their program. "You have XXXX number of kids, you SHOULD be good every year!"
  10. Good call. I feel there is a quote out there about not wanting to be "the guy following THE guy."
  11. But sometimes coaches and programs overthink things. Countless examples at all three levels of the sport where a coach/staff has walked out on its own terms at a high level and then the next guy in waiting fails.
  12. You have anger problems. Never knew marching band was your hot button issue.
  13. I mean, four different classes represented in one conference really opens up the option that multiple teams can make deep runs, so its intriguing. Many of the other conferences self-destruct one another in the tournament. It is neat to see what these schools can do when they break away from their closed off/fixed schedule. So yes, polarizing.
  14. Correct. Both McCahill and Steele were the primary offensive weapons/options for their team. It is obviously easier to accumulate passing yardage so the percentages will always work in the QB's favor. Playing the other side of the coin, how many other RB's could you plug into Center Grove's system and they equaled or bettered Steele's rushing numbers? Hell, you might not even have to go to another team. Steele averaged 6.3 yards per carry this fall and Daniel Weems averaged 5.6. Not really a significant drop off.
  15. Funny you bring up Carmel as I was just about to post something about the ‘Hounds. I know that Ben Davis and Warren Central are the topic of this thread and above I mentioned that they get a pass somehow from folks despite their large enrollments but I also found it interesting that Carmel, a school of 5200+ thought throwing a converted WR in at QB in the regional was their best option... Mind blowing.
  16. I see Carroll and Homestead on the same path as Zionsville and Whiteland. They’ll get there but not anytime soon. Elkhart is the intriguing one to me. CG isn’t going anywhere as long as Moore is there.
  17. Since the inception of 6A only 6 schools have made the finals anyway. This proposal, as far fetched as it may be at least gives other teams a shot.
  18. LN/LC should do the same...(won't ever happen but would love to see it for selfish reasons).
  19. I don't see a Reece Taylor, David Bell or Romier Elliott on either roster currently. Do you?
  20. Couldn't agree more. Need some fresh blood, especially in 6A. I think Westfield is actually only 2-3 years away from contending for 6A titles, Zionsville will take a bit longer and Whiteland should be there by the end of the decade if current growth trends continue.
  21. Jeff getting pushed out of the top 24 would be the best thing to happen to them honestly. Yep, just like seeing someone else say it.
  22. You could definitely make a case. I think McCahill should win actually. Knowing how these things go, I think Huebler is a long shot but is definitely worthy of consideration for the reasons you mentioned.
  23. You answered your own question. CG could also cite the same issue when it comes to running clocks with Steele.
