  1. Nope. Wrong team in green. Outrage unnecessary.
  2. No whining here, I’m a central Indiana guy. Westfield and CG are the exceptions to the rule.
  3. Does the HCC earn the moral victory card that you referenced might be forthcoming last week in the event that the games were respectable? I mean, Westfield outscored CG in the second half and Zionsville more than head their own. I kid...
  4. Not saying I approve of it, just saying it’s a path to success. Central Indy schools pioneered it, it’s time for the rest of the state to embrace it...or fall farther behind.
  5. I agree they have the most upside. Could they also potentially benefit from the train wreck that has become South Bend Community schools? (I mean if a kid from the east side of Indianapolis can “re-locate” 20 miles west and lead a 1A school to a state title, why not?) I’m also intrigued by Merrillville going forward. Never thought I’d say this with a straight face but if they can keep the gravy train of Illinois/Region transfers rolling in, they could make some noise annually.
  6. If I were a JV/freshman coach at a Marion County 5A/6A school, I’d be looking over my shoulder on Saturday mornings looking for folks in green hanging out in the stands with binoculars. But that’s just me.
  7. I wouldn’t say “asinine” but they did play head to head. The Mooresville/Mt. Vernon example given above is more apt because they were eliminated by the current champ and the margin was closer than the title game. Dwenger had its shot.
  8. Great post. While I am fully aware of what happens and what benefits are given to coaches at the MiC/mega schools, I’m also conscious that Moore has a pretty damn good gig at CG that is just not possible at other places. I know my original question was “what can other 6A schools do to close the gap on CG” but your post made me think of how small school coaches would scoff at their benefits/daily schedule compared to their 6A brethren. There are just not enough hours in the day for these little guys to do what you are asking without taking too much attention away from their current crop.
  9. Dumb stat. Irrelevant with player turnover. The only thing I know you are right about is the fact that the semi-state game should have been played in Fort Wayne.
  10. Man, you are bitter. Head over to Dwenger and hand out some red rings. I think it’ll make you feel better.
  11. Huh? Moore was a .500 coach in his first season at CG. Administrative buy-in STARTS with the hiring of the right head coach. AD’s and principals know what they are getting when they hire certain guys to run their football program. Give em unlimited resources and stay the hell out of the way. The great programs have figured this out. Take BD and Warren for example. They have changed coaches every 5-6 years over the last two decades and as a result they fall father and farther behind CG. Sure, they came up and had some great seasons and won some titles (as you’d expect schools of their stature to do) but have also sprinkled in some disappointing seasons here and there. Center Grove has had one losing season under Moore, and it was 15 years ago.
  12. Yep. A 1A sized drum. Come down to central Indy when this pandemic passes my man. I’ll give you a tour. It’s a different world down here.
  13. My values? While I do feel for the fact that two of his previous schools closed, they were at least in close proximity to one another. I see this type of story repeatedly in my line/area of work. There is some assuming on my part but it’s fishy. Don’t be in so much denial. Had he ended up at Zionsville, he’d probably be a special teams player Bob. It’s not the PP argument for me here as much as it is the fact that ONE player can impact a game at the 1A level so much easier. Free agency and endless boundaries have reached the high school level Bob. If that doesn’t concern you, you are not paying attention.
  14. Yep. Where’s @TheStatGuy? He told us all summer how ridiculous the notion of playing high school football was and then doubled down telling us there’s no way the season finishes once it had started. Rent is due.
  15. Both. There were really only two “games.” The others were 2+ hours of a hammer repeatedly hitting a nail. Not sure what education based athletics stands for to you or your draw to them is Bob, but one of my main attractions to them is the escape from the “free agency” that has diluted the collegiate and professional levels. Combine that with the illusion that I’m hanging on to that every school has an equal shot at the top prize...which is growing farther and farther from the truth. One of the coolest moments of the weekend for me was hearing the South Adams and Center Grove kids talking about how they’d played together since grade school and dreamed of that moment.
  16. Privates win 213-125. Kudos to WeBo for their win and South Adams/Zionsville on their moral victories.
  17. A wise man said in another thread...”do your own research.” Its not hard to connect the dots here my man. There are 17 other schools driven past on his route between Howe and Covenant Christian.
  18. Not sure how many tickets Zionsville sold but they sure are being heard tonight.
  19. Selective hearing... But I’m telling you, I saw the zebras TAKING from the collection plate pre game.
  20. Poor Zionsville is actually playing quite well they just can’t get off the damn field.
  21. “The echo”, get the hell outta here Scheib. Hasn’t been an issue in the previous five games.
  22. LOL... I’ve never understood the high risk/low reward decision that goes into deciding to rush the punter unless the game is on the line. What percentage of the time does it actually work? Zionsville had them off the field. Let’s see if they can man up and do it again.
