Not a lot of talk this week. What’s the update on how the new Reitz qb has been playing? For anyone who has seen Jasper play is it similar in offense to what Gibson Southern runs?

The only two games worth watching will be Reitz/Castle and North/MD. What will MD do without QB Mallory? Which Reitz team will show up? Castle D has been playing better lately.

30 minutes later? The standard start time for all hs games in the state? It makes no sense.

Why? It makes no sense.

Now that Vincennes is leaving can we please go back to 7 PM start time for games involving everyone but Jasper? Then when anyone plays Jasper it’s the 6:30/7:30 start time.

Interesting week for sure with Castle/VL and Jasper/MD. last few times I’ve been to VL their home fans make it a weird setting. A lot of home fans sit on the visitor side instead of the home side. It’s weird.

Does high school have an offensive offsides? I don’t feel like I have ever seen the offsides/encroachment signal for the offense before. I thought if it was on the offense then it was the false start signal. However the ref gave an offsides signal for the offense earlier this year. Is this possible?

Sorry if this hit a nerve for you man. Just seems like Reitz always has discipline issues recently. Wasn’t that way before. I know many players who were on the early 2000’s and state teams. The teams today are built different and held to different standards. Even the Reitz faithful say this. This is the map I am talking about. Seems like a really weird way to divide up the city.

Just seems like they always have discipline and team issues. I think that may be a result of how they build their teams though. Not saying I blame them. Heck it’s honestly EVSC’s fault I. How they divided up the city school zones and then let anyone go anywhere they want within the EVSC.

Just guessing because Castle beat ranked MD while North lost to ranked Memorial. Voters didn’t realize North beat Castle just a week before? Not saying I agree. Head to head should always be a tie breaker in anything.

How can a place with so much history and tradition as Reitz always seem to have trouble putting it together?

Heard a rumor that Castle is replacing Vincennes with a Boonville game next year. Unconfirmed.

In my perfect world the SIAC would add 3 teams (12 total) and split into two divisions.

What is the purpose of HH playing SS? No one in the PAC can think this is a good idea. It doesn’t help either team.

I’ll bite. - Will Central improve this year? MD wins BIG. - Will Harrison improve this year? Reitz wins BIG. - I’ll admit I don’t know much about Bosse or VL. How does VL do in their last year in the conference? VL probably wins. - memorial lost a lot. How will they reload? Jasper with a completely new look. Memorial wins close. - Castle lost a ton of key players. How do they reload? This is the game of the week. Teams always come out pumped up with a new coach. Castle wins close.

Sorry I was just curious if high school officials here also do college games. If so what level/conference? It’s just interesting to me.

Last year we (Castle) had more players than just about everyone we played. I do remember when we played FC in sectionals they probably had more players than us. Ended up beating them 35-21. Also, the absolute worst home fans I have ever seen. It didn’t help they don’t have visitor side bleachers.

Heritage Hills only has 38 players? Freshman through Senior or just Sophomore through Senior?

This is more of a curious question. Do any of our resident officials here (thinking Bobref and Impartial Observer types) also do college officiating? If so what level and where at?

Anyone seen Jasper scrimmage? Curious what offense they are running. same for North. Did anything change formation or scheme on O or D?

I was just trying to find an SIAC team and PAC team that were comparable. Not two from the same conference. Just like Reitz and GS. If that makes sense. Although it would be really cool if 2 or 3 SIAC teams had their own “classic”. Similar to the old Evansville vs Owensboro games.

I haven’t heard anything yet. Gotcha. I was thinking since Reitz already did, that it left 8 teams so maybe they could redo all schedules to make the off week the same week. Didn’t know Jasper already filled theirs.

Now that Reitz has their next two nonconference games lined up, it would be nice if the rest of the conference made all of their nonconference games on the same week. I would think that could really help with scheduling. Or maybe that’s backwards. Maybe it would make it harder.

With Reitz announcing their 9th opponent for the next two years makes me wonder what the other 8 SIAC teams are gonna do. Would be really cool for other SIAC and PAC teams to do the same as Reitz and GS and make some doubleheaders. Castle and Boonville makes sense. Jasper and Heritage Hills. Memorial and Southridge. Etc.
