Anyway, any life left to this regional rivalry of so many years ago and the current? Batesville had some tough teams way back then just as Patriots.
-
Actually thought Dawgs would have been more physical up front than what I saw at IC. Sure, they were better than Braves as I expected, but the Creek had some good o calls that they failed to execute and that was the difference between a close, one play away ball game to win and the comfortable margin Dawgs gained and kept. Batesville just did not put away a lesser, but feisty squad. Thought last year's Lawrenceburg was a stronger version of what I saw Friday.

Imagine if Iowa had an offense.............

I would think the biggest wins in North Posey history at this point are when they had their best team with the 2005 semi-state title thriller over Speedway and regional title at Lawrenceburg.
-
Should be a great crowd. Defense will be the decider. IC has made major strides. Braves much more a team of quickness rather than size.

If Woodson had been 40 years later, the money he could have made as an "amateur."

Sounds as if Ryan Walters already deflecting/mitigating/misdirecting prior to the game in case they get mauled by Wolverines. CYA statements. Good planning especially after last week's showcasing by Boilers.

I find the two hour travel either way for EC or Martinsville/Mooresville/Greenwood to be a factor in these matchups if the teams are close in ability-which they have not been the last three years. The only one that could have been competitive was the 21 game at Mooresville in the cold, driving rain which really negated Mooresville pass/catch effectiveness (EC was still going to run all over/around).
-
EC will mulch Greenwood up front, where the action is decided. Also, Trojans have more quickness.

I used the THE due to the fact of how that base refers to the Buckeyes. Having known hardcore Buckeyes (Massillon natives), I have to fit in when around them. The old joke about what a Buckeye is must be avoided.

Some great points have been made that Brown County lacks affordable housing/planning for people to stay and start a family to grow up there. Those people move away. I still have occasional contact with people who were/are in admin/coaching in that county. Another point that should be made is that the AD is a highly paid position there and they have essentially Michael Scott from "The Office" in that role. A hot mess.

As others pointed out regarding Brownsburg offensive play calls, one thing you would make certain of at that point of game would be to identify where Zackery was and avoid throwing that way.

looking forward to this weekends home game and a possible sectional 23 championship. EC matches up real well across the board with green-woody, and though they had some wins against some pretty good teams this year, them bAd bOyZ are focused, determined and should be able to repeat their dominant ways.
EC wins by 35+
Hats off to the Artesians for a great gplan and great execution last friday....them trick plays and quick passes had our D on their heels in the 1st half. Kudos to coach Dugger and his staff....i watched his interview on MHS rewind earlier in the week and he was able to have his squad execute most of what he said they needed to do to keep the game close and have a chance. In the end they just didn't have enough in the well (sorry for the pun) to keep up.
Great points. Respect to Martinsville for being very aggressive and passionate. That is good coaching and execution. EC had plenty of penalties to inhibit themselves and aid Artesians, but Martinsville's play may have had something to do with that. It was a real mullet battle for awhile. Martinsville just didn't have enough RC's and moon pies or piss and vinegar to keep the pressure on after that fifth EC td late first half. Feisty but overmatched.

I wasn't going to use his name, but yea. And it was early 80's.
Considering his son is the starting tackle for THE Ohio State Buckeyes, I don't think you can get more public than that. He was also a good OL on a pretty good Indiana team back in the day.

Cuz and I will converge on Raglafart from the East and the West for game. Warning: earlier in the season, I found him listening to Crossfade.
Should be an enjoyable, competitive game from two teams that will be playing for the fourth time in two seasons, back to back sectionals, this time for the hardware now that the Dawgs slayed the big, bad Tiger that had been eating it's prey in recent sectionals.

Yea, I remember even in the late 80's, CG was still thought of as a "country school". I worked with a guy whose kid was a QB back then. The dad was not pleased with the coaching, so "transferred" him to Lawrence N.
Jeff Fryar went from CG to LN in early 80's.

Makes perfect sense. Thank you.
So what’s the contingency plan when crap really hits the fan? Has that been discussed? For football, are we going to have to implement bye weeks? Will some games just not get played? Will high school-sponsored sports cease to exist?
Contingency? IHSAA? Make all finals broadcast only via streaming so rural dwellers especially can be more engaged, furthering the sports through their communities.

Likely making it over to Martintucky just in time if weather holds out.

The whole thing with TC is bottling up Stuckey. He is unique. Reminds me of Eric Watt in hs who later was the Gagliardi winner at Trine.

Won't the rain bog down those clown suits and those oversized shoes? Not to mention the makeup running everywhere. Will be tough to see.

Plainfield had a lot of trouble passing in the rain two weeks ago.

What does Chatard have a lot of?
Apparently talent and humility.
Chatard running clocks the field every week through turkey day. Everybody else needs to move over.
Even in the 70s they were a top 3A team, which was the top class at that time. Why are they so happy to beat up on all the little guys and not voluntarily move up to 4A or 5A?
Start taking your shots fellas.
Bill Lynch played there. And , later, recall they played Columbus East in 1979.

Should be interesting. No video broadcast for this it appears. Would be one to see, I think.

The Fonz is a great reference as Martinsville (just as most small towns before authorities shut it down) there was a cruisin culture with a cruisin route.
Greencastle looking for week 6 opponent 2024 only.
