Right, but Penn State’s access to Pegula as a donor could free up other donors to collectively oust Franklin—whether he gives to that effort or not. The guy gave over $100 million to fund their hockey program and build their rink about 15 years ago. I agree that they could do much worse than Franklin.

I forgot about the Pegula money, so, who knows, his seat could be real hot.

The 60ish million dollars left on his deal might bring the temperature down a bit, but it’s probably uncomfortable.

This is an exaggeration, but it’s almost like Penn’s players don’t get a single quality rep until they’re seniors that start. And then there’s like a 50% chance they do when they’re seniors.

It’s an indictment on the administration that we can seriously suggest it would be better to have a program where the varsity team runs, at least, three in-season camps and intrasquad scrimmages, and in those three weeks some combination of depth juniors, sophomores, and freshmen play varsity games and freshmen and some sophomores play JV games.

Anecdotal, but my wife went there 20 years ago, her family is still in the district, and they all say it’s totally different today.

I agree, but I don't think its a bad factor in a discussion about underachieving programs. I thought Frankfort struggles because everyone wants to play soccer.

I wasn’t in favor of bringing in a transfer, but I’m not sure Notre Dame plays for the championship, or even makes the playoff, with Angeli. The receivers weren’t as good last year, and the offensive line was much better in the run game than in pass protection. Angeli was sacked on about 14 percent of his dropbacks and Leonard was sacked on about 5 percent of his. Not to mention that, while Angeli led a needed scoring drive against Penn State, we’re a lucky bounce away from that strip sack being PSU ball around the 50 with a little over a minute in the first half trailing 10-0. None of that is to say Angeli is bad, clearly he’s not, but I think the staff was correct that he wasn’t going to be the right QB to get the most out of the offense last year.

I only watched Warsaw play Warren and Concord on the internet, so that might negate anything I have to say, but Warren would maul Concord's offensive line and their defense would play much freer against Concord's much more conventional offense. Warsaw is way too unconventional in their scheme and strategy to infer that Concord's margin against them would translate in a matchup with Warren. Concord might have manhandled Warsaw on the scoreboard, but Warren manhandled them physically. Maybe the large northern schools, specifically in the Region and Michiana, have actually been playing the long game with the state's demographic shift while they await their eventual return to 5A. Some visionary administrators will be needed if northern 6A's ever hope to have a shot at state. As it stands those schools need to luck into a year where they have one of their best teams ever while about 10 or so Indy metro schools are having a down year at the same time. The Big SAC is a great idea, even if impossible to imagine given the longer and less direct route between Penn and Fort Wayne as compared to traveling to the duneland.

I’d offer grass fields for everyone who wants them. Maintenance and eventual replacement included.
