  1. Mike Florio talked a little bit about employer liability yesterday since Fox is now a named defendant in a civil suit filed Monday. It’s normal for charges to get upgraded as the factual picture becomes clearer and evidence supporting elements of different or more severe crimes emerges.
  2. Seems like a suggestion for the district to add a third high school.
  3. I think the decision for multiple high schools has to be made by the time you're starting to run out of room for 3000ish students.
  4. Michigan State and Rutgers aren’t sneaking up on Penn State at this point. Somebody’s—Franklin’s or his coordinators’—seats would be hot if they lose one of those. I would be surprised if Penn State doesn’t muddle through a lifeless win against Illinois, too.
  5. It seems unlikely he’s within the scope of his duties as a broadcaster at 12:30 am on a Saturday morning, but I imagine you wouldn’t have to try very hard to come up with some facts that might make it a close question.
  6. CP is a good team, but it’s hard to imagine them bullying Carmel or Westfield for a full 48. CP is +27.5 against either, and a moral victory would be something like keeping it to 14.
  7. Right, but Penn State’s access to Pegula as a donor could free up other donors to collectively oust Franklin—whether he gives to that effort or not. The guy gave over $100 million to fund their hockey program and build their rink about 15 years ago. I agree that they could do much worse than Franklin.
  8. I forgot about the Pegula money, so, who knows, his seat could be real hot.
  9. The 60ish million dollars left on his deal might bring the temperature down a bit, but it’s probably uncomfortable.
  10. This is an exaggeration, but it’s almost like Penn’s players don’t get a single quality rep until they’re seniors that start. And then there’s like a 50% chance they do when they’re seniors.
  11. It’s an indictment on the administration that we can seriously suggest it would be better to have a program where the varsity team runs, at least, three in-season camps and intrasquad scrimmages, and in those three weeks some combination of depth juniors, sophomores, and freshmen play varsity games and freshmen and some sophomores play JV games.
  12. All I want to know is if anyone in the secondary got some good shots in tonight.
  13. Never made sense—to this outsider at least.
  14. For sure, especially since Hill is like ten years older. But, seeing it happen live, Hill's injury was evocative of McGahee's. 🤮
  15. Marginal. For a family of four the difference in income to qualify for free lunch is about $11,000 from 2003 to today. YIKES.
  16. Anecdotal, but my wife went there 20 years ago, her family is still in the district, and they all say it’s totally different today.
  17. Shades of Willis Mcgahee in ‘02.
  18. A shame, for sure.
  19. Out of reactions for the day, so “Thanks!”
  20. Isn’t that just the result of Cathedral playing two out of state opponents?
  21. BK would have to recruit to get into James Franklin territory. He's his own distinct thing.
  22. Is there a second Westfield out there somewhere?
  23. I agree, but I don't think its a bad factor in a discussion about underachieving programs. I thought Frankfort struggles because everyone wants to play soccer.
  24. Curious where they stack up overall since this report only measures the percentage increase over time.
  25. I wasn’t in favor of bringing in a transfer, but I’m not sure Notre Dame plays for the championship, or even makes the playoff, with Angeli. The receivers weren’t as good last year, and the offensive line was much better in the run game than in pass protection. Angeli was sacked on about 14 percent of his dropbacks and Leonard was sacked on about 5 percent of his. Not to mention that, while Angeli led a needed scoring drive against Penn State, we’re a lucky bounce away from that strip sack being PSU ball around the 50 with a little over a minute in the first half trailing 10-0. None of that is to say Angeli is bad, clearly he’s not, but I think the staff was correct that he wasn’t going to be the right QB to get the most out of the offense last year.
