Does anyone have any idea as to when the IHSAA will release the new sectional alignments for the next 2 seasons?  It was my understanding that they would be released a week or so ago.

this coming Monday, they met last Monday

In 2022, the Executive Meeting was held May 3rd, with the alignments being announced later that day.

The next executive meeting is scheduled for next Tuesday.  Look for them to be announced later that day.

    or what he said

When Lutheran dismantled Triton Central early on, and later seeing TC in person and their continued success to semistate, it was a sign to me that 2A may be suspicious. They are a decent team and program under Tim Able, but were driven by one superstar at that level. One player can only do so much, unless you are James Banks, who created absolute chaos.

mmmm... TC's best WR didn't play against North Posey.

I believe Clarksville will be installing turf this summer.

HECK YEAH! I hope like heck you guys can build that program back into a power.

When I was a SO, 2006, you guys were awesome. Respectfully, the field and stadium need upgrades. Also.. you guys have the BEST burgers.

Very rarely will I encourage someone to discontinue their fight, but this fight really isn't going anywhere. Best to move on.  I'm all in for top notch high school facilities.

He's a troll. There is nothing else to this. In every one of these threads, he spouts his crap, has no substance to his argument, and does it condescendingly. Unfortunately, the mods have continued to allow him to post here.

This is an Indiana HS football forum. He acts like it's a forum for him to voice his displeasure about aspects of society. Confused he is, it ruins the board.

Not speaking for @BTF, but I think you are oversimplifying his comment.  I believe BTF is implying that taxes at a local level impact you at a much more personal level than federal taxes. I think most can agree that taxes are a waste of money, but I would rather pay more money to local taxes than federal taxes.  Big, bloated government taxes/spending at a federal level hurt everyone.

Also, I think this thread was made to discuss which schools currently have turf and which schools do not have turf.  @btownqbcoach1 saw the future, when he posted "I am sure some will take this thread as an opportunity to try and discredit/get butthurt about turf... but... meh." Boy, was he right....Maybe you should start your own thread "TURF SUCKS, SOD RULES"

It never stops. There is just too much "troll" in there to be respectful and take this "discussion" (I guess that's what you would call it) somewhere else. This isn't a "local government" forum lol ... I've asked him multiple times to start his own threads/discussions on whatever topic he'd like, but he isn't respectful enough for that, so here we are..... every day, with Muda as the center of attention. It's honestly embarrassing lol ... place could be a lot more fun.

Is this what your hatred is really about?  Because you didn't get to play on it, you feel kids today shouldn't?

I believe in wanting BETTER for kids today than what I had it.  Turf solves a lot of problems for some schools.

Take Sheridan.  By adding turf, not only does our football program get a top-notch field to play on, but the soccer games can all be moved to the turf as well.  For the past forever, they have been playing soccer on a very outdated soccer field that is off-campus, raising concerns for student and fan safety.  The old soccer field will now be town property, where the plan is to build a new larger capacity salt barn, which obviously benefits the community.  Also, the band will get to utilize the new turf.  Moving their practices from the blacktop parking lot where they have been since before the 00s, to a safer (and cooler) turf field.

Are some schools changing to turf just to spend extravagantly?  Sure.  However, to assume that EVERY school is doing that, is naive and ignorant.

Yeah just go research his others posts in this thread lolololol 🤪

2 mid southern heading to basketball state finals. Gotta be a first. Congrats to Brownstown and Scottsburg!! Is Scottsburg senior heavy? I've watched Btown....but haven't seen Scottsburg at all.

    Yes SB is all SRs.

Ironically... 3 kids from SBs team, 2 from BC, Kaysim Nash and Carter Kent all played together growing up in AAU.

South Putnam's Wildman Field will be getting Turf starting in April and ready by end of July for the start of the 2024 season. It was approved by the board this past weekNewTurf2024.thumb.jpg.079c433fd59672597caa646fe0c25b9e.jpg

Awesome! They were REALLY good last year.

I'll put them on the list.

Hey,  know the JC guys were getting on me a while back because they thought I was looking down on them. I've been working up in Seymour and North Vernon. Believe me, that is such a nice area. I like NV a lot. Really cool town to drive around. My only issue is that I don't know it very well and I didn't know where all the good eating spots are. Lol.

Millers Tavern fish sammy is better than their tenderloin. There I said it.

  8. Just strictly speaking "gyms"... gyms only. I'd take Paoli well before WW, and I have not been to the new Mitchell gym, but the old Mitchell gym-- Paoli would still be ahead of them for me.

Sidenote- I would also take Paoli's gym over BC's, just showing it's not a bias thing. Love that gym.

But the regular season isn't even.  The ability to play anyone in the state when you want to isn't possible.  Teams are stuck playing the teams around them so whatever way you use to seed won't be fair.  In the NFL the schedule is chosen by the league but non-conference play in college football/basketball can be chosen by the schools involved.  They can travel and play who ever they want.  They can increase their Net or KenPom or whatever rating the selection committee is using.  High Schools can't do that.

I would argue the regular season is a way to get your team ready for the post-season.  You spend the nine weeks getting your team ready, getting a two deep roster and putting out film that will get your kids into college.  An all-in only hurts those schools who have to play a must win in week one and lose.  They complain they had to play a good team early whne they had the regular season to get their team ready for that game.  Sounds like the people who complain about everyone getting a trophy are worried that they won't get trophies if they have to play a hard game first...

That's exactly what it sounds like

You're confusing sentimental feeling with real tangible meaning. Everyone loves to beat a rival, never disagreed with that, but your record and subsequent play during the first 9 weeks has ZERO real tangible meaning. 0-9 or 9-0 It.Literally.Doesn't.Matter. You're in the playoffs no matter what and your draw is defined by nothing more than a ping pong ball. You will NEVER be able to refute this under the current format no matter how hard you puff your chest.

And with your second paragraph you've literally just described a glorified 2.5 month long exhibition season.

As you should be. In HS sports, everyone should make the post-season, I can't imagine thinking otherwise.

Your perspective sounds like that of a fan. Nothing wrong with that, but I have never heard of a coach calling any regular season and exhibition. I've also never really heard of any energy in coaching circles to get the "all-in" approach changed.

We'd like seeding-- but I don't think any of us really want teams excluded.

    Lol.

You can still have a fun 9 or 10 game regular season all while not being entitled to a postseason game. Novel concept I know. It's done in every other state in America.

And yes regular season games under the current format are in fact meaningless. Whether you go 9-0 and 0-9, your postseason fate is sealed before the season even starts by virtue of the all-in format and your draw is literally determined by a ping pong ball. Literally nothing that happens in weeks 1-9 has a single bearing on the postseason. They are in fact meaningless and how it relates to the overall course of the season. A literal fact that cannot be refuted.

They aren't, at all. Maybe from a fan's perspective? Idk hard to see where you're coming from with any of this, or have any energy towards some teams not getting in the tourney and that being a good thing for the sport.

It's definitely meaningful--- how do you think we get prepared for the tourney? There, that refuted your alleged "fact"..... lol
