I read last week that he had entered the transfer portal and immediately thought he could be a perfect fit for IU.  Have a good feeling about this.  Not sure if 3 years is accurate.  If yers, that would be fantastic.  I have a feeling the staff has soured on McCulley's ability to develop into a D1 QB.

ESPN reported 3 years....not sure if accurate.  Did indicate he was SEC co-freshman of the year in 2020...and I believe everyone got a free year for 2020 with Covid.  From Dayton, so not that far from Btown.

Finally some good news.  IU finds its 2022 QB out of Missouri in the transfer portal. Connor Bazelak is 6-3, 215 and put up some nice numbers for the Tigers in the SEC.  Was a 4 Star coming out of Ohio

This appears to be a vote of no confidence in Tuttle and perhaps a stop gap until McCulley grows into the position.

    Finally some hope in Bloomington.

I am not sure a stop gap....he has 3 years of eligibility I believe.  He was Missouri's number 1 guy last year with some solid stats in the SEC.

I think you are right....I like it....

Could dive back into their USFL days and pull out that nickname!!  Federals!!

Have to celebrate former Indiana State football star Eric Robinson....played for the Federals, making the USFL All Star Team

Nah, that's what makes college basketball's postseason the best of any sport.  At least give the little guy a chance...even if there is a great chance they will get their teeth kicked in.

Little guy still has a chance with 3 at larges.....Cincy would have been an at large this year.

Run the table impressively in the Mountain West and earn an at large.

Major independents better find a conference home

  5. 4 hours ago, temptation said:

I don't get it.  In an 8 team scenario, you could have at-large bids from 2 different conferences so the second place (and in some cases maybe even the third place team in a really dominant year) can get an opportunity.

    5 power 5 champs.

    1 group of 5.

    2 at-large.

    I agree....but I would just go 5 power 5 conference champs

    3 at large

Wow! He was a freshman at ND when I was a senior in the 1973 national championship season. One of Our Lady’s all-time greatest players.

Ross Browner was one of the most decorated defensive players in the history of college football. At the University of Notre Dame he was a four-year starter at defensive end in 1973 and 1975–77. He was a unanimous All-America his junior and senior seasons of 1976 and 1977. In 1976, he won the Outland trophy as the nation's best interior or defensive lineman also in 1976 United Press Internationalnamed him Lineman of the Year. He won the Lombardi Trophy as the nation's best lineman and the Maxwell Award as the nation's best player and again won the UPI Lineman of the Year Award, the only player ever to win it twice. In the decade of the 1970s, Browner was the only lineman who won the Maxwell. In 1977, he also placed fifth in voting for the Heisman Trophy. During his senior year in college, he was featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated with the subheading of "Notre Dame's Peerless Ross Browner."

I didn't realize until I read about his passing, that he had a son, Max Starks, that was a 10 year NFL offensive lineman, that won 2 Super Bowls with the Steelers.

Yep. Same with me. Same as the Indians. Even after the Sonics moved to OKC, I still refer to them as the Sonics.

Glad to see the Cleveland Guardians (formerly Indians) worked through their lawsuit from claiming a name already in use by a Cleveland group.

Nice job doing your homework fellas......

It's great.  Higher than many administrators.  Wasn't saying otherwise, just saying its not $115-120K.

May not look as good when breaking it down to an hourly rate.

During the season, I know most programs are 7 days/week......

Not even close to the highest paid in the MIC either.

I would expect Hebert to be up there with Carmel....what is the highest paid for a MIC coach and source?

    Thanks....

Hearing stories that AB was refusing to go in because he was hurt so maybe BA is the bad guy here forcing injured players to play against their will.

I don't believe BA has that type of reputation.  He's always been known as a player's coach.  He probably deserves credit for giving AB a chance in the first place.  My guess is that he did partly because of their relationship going back to their Steeler days.

Colts will obviously make the playoffs. The loss to the Raiders only changed their 1st round opponent.  Instead of going to Buffalo, they will glide down I-74 to Cincy.

I like the matchup with the Bengals.  I think this is the best 1st round scenario we could hope for. However, very much agree the Temp, the Jekyl and Hyde nature of this team makes it seam like they backed into the playoffs.

I hope you are right....on paper, they should take the Jags, although they only beat them by 6 points at home this season.  I don't believe the Colts have won at Jacksonville since 2014.  (check me on that one)  I hope they are ready to play Sunday.

The season kind of ended the way I thought it would.  The Irish showed flashes of what's to come.  A lot of young players contributed to that first half.  I think what a lot of us forget is that Oklahoma State was an outstanding team.  They came within an eyelash of making the CFP.  The Irish were never good enough to really be a serious contender for the final four, imo.

The game pivoted on the decision, whoever made it, to go soft on the last OSU drive in the first half.  28-7 wasn't that secure enough lead to do that against a good team.  They weren't playing Navy or Stanford yesterday.  It's hard for any team to recover after going prematurely prevent.  At least that's what I believe.

Spot on with your assessment of OK State. This was the best Cowboy team in the Gundy era.  They were 2, 4th down stops with less than a yd (including one on the goal line in the BIG 12 championship game) from running the table.  ND played an outstanding football team.

Don't forget the Cowboys had Indpls Chatard's Danny Godlevske starting at C the entire season until he broke his right foot the game prior to the Big 12 championship.  Great career Danny!  Get healthy and get that shot to play on Sundays!!

Yeast was also a 4 star but didn’t crack the top 25.

Lee was .9000.  Yeast was .8983.

Consider it done.  Gimme the years on McCutcheon and Jeff in the HCC please.

Oh...so you are just going straight 247 numbers regardless of their actual on-field play and accolades?  Gotcha.....

I thought you might have included some subjective criteria to include their actual on field performance.

Not disagreeing..just better understanding the criteria you used.

  15. I think the Colts are going to look back at this season, and note the 3-4 games that they should have won....and failure to execute will being their Achilles heel.  Even if they clinch a playoff spot this week, they could have been in a far better position/seed.

I saw no reason to second guess the covering official.

Hey Bob...there are photos of another Tennessee player picking up the ball carrier and trying to pull him into the end zone on that same 4th down play at the goal line.  Is that legal today?  I remember the infamous ND USC game with Leinart (I believe) pushing Bush to the end zone.  Can you offer your thoughts on this type of play being allowed?

Perhaps...but his challenge was with Indianapolis Colts players that chose to not be vaccinated.  I believe this is a Colts thread.

It's moral when the health of the nation would be highly better if we all would vaccinate.

Don't you wish!  It's evident you don't care for his advice either.

Vaccinated people, for the most part, are safe.  At least for now, until we fully understand long-term effects of the vaccines.  While we have learned the vaccines do not prevent incidence, they seem with the current variants to prevent/reduce significantly mortality.  So you and those that vaccinate now are safe....for the current time.

Why do you care if a member of the Colts (who are already at lower risk given their age, physical shape, controlled exposure, etc. ) do not choose to vaccinate?  As we know, all can spread the virus, and its my educated guess that more precautions are taken with Wentz, Leonard, Nelson, etc. than the average Joe.  Far more precautions.

Fauci and Biden told us if we a achieved 70% vaccination rate, we will obtain herd immunity.  There are now states above 70% and we know that herd immunity has not occurred at this %.

You didn't answer my question about demanding influenza vaccines for all.  Is 60K annual deaths acceptable risk?

The moral question is an interesting one....its always interesting when one type of death is acceptable, when another is not.
