To be accurate, AC is making their third straight visit to LOS in a row.  Win or not; especially given that that they are facing Lutheran, again, they kind of fit the mold of the spirit of the law behind SF.  Scecina ended up in that situation the first two years that SF tracking was in place and ended up in 2A with no blue rings.

Given the way that SF works, if the argument is that a team shouldn't be bumped up if they went to LOS twice in a row and got two red rings, couldn't a team that won state in Year 1 of the cycle and only got a regional in Year 2 make a compelling argument for not being bumped in that they were just good for the one year and, at least by the numbers, actually getting worse?  SF doesn't really address problems with precision, especially with just a two-year window, and the set points, regardless of acquisition sequence is just an artifact of that.

I think AC is gonna have to move up due to enrollment anyway. Some of the AC faithful could probably confirm or deny this a little better than I could but I know they've had a lot of kids coming in.

I'm thinking last weeks game with Luers and Bluffton... LCC and the Zebras 3rd and 4th IMO !

    Congrats to Luers !!!

Yes, I was very much wrong. Very impressed with Luers front 7. I hadn't seen that from them all year. When you are wrong, you are wrong, and I was wrong. Congrats to them and good luck at state!

OK, did the IHSAA change the Success Factor rules so that a team who had been bumped and only accrued 2 points or less now goes down to the next lower class? If so, that would mean Ev. Memorial comes back down to 3A for 2024.

Sure sounds that way. I always understood it as 2 points, a sectional win each year, or a regional win one year, kept you in that class, but what you have here isn't written that way.

So you really think the administrators and parents who often struggle financially to keep the doors open (the LCC story is a remarkable one in that regard) are going to leave empty seats in the school because of a ridiculous IHSAA Class designation?

Catholic schools can’t make it without parents lending a literal “physical” hand let alone leave seats empty.  You really can’t imagine how little Bill Sahm, President at Chatard, could care about what Class the football team is in.

If we can’t get past simply wrong (verging on ridiculous) assertions like this then there’s no hope for ever having any meaningful conversation.

I mentioned one Catholic school, said nothing about LCC or Chatard

There just isn't 300 kids beating down the door to get in. In fact, until this year, our enrollment was dropping annually, despite having a 7-8 year period of fairly good athletic success (football, boys & girls soccer titles). Our enrollment is dictated largely by that our of feeder schools. Theya re starting to go up, so our enrollment will go up. But it will never get to 850 or 900. The highest ever was 2011 at 815.

    I understand now.

Just my opinion but this Luers team is the least talented on paper to make it this far.

My mama said Sectional 35 and 36 were down pretty bad this year. Usually you've got Eastbrook that is pretty tough and Tipton that makes some noise. Eastside was okay, but not what they have been. 2A was definitely more wide open than normal this year.

History says you're wrong.   Chatard has heard all of this before.   Knox has played nobody.  Happens every year with these rural teams and Sagarin - as it relates to Chatard and generally speaking - hasn't been wrong.   You can be condescending and hard headed all you want, but this is par for the course.  Heritage Hills in 2019 couldn't have talked more trash or been more naive.  Just like you.  Final?  34-3 Chatard.   Lawrenceburg a year ago.  Final?  34-14 Chatard and the defense this year is far better.  Tippy Valley talked.  40-7.  Delta was going to "run through Chatard's faces."  35-0 before Delta scored.   This movie is in syndicate....it's not new.   It's a rerun.  Chatard hasn't played Lakeview or Maconaquah.  You're right.   But if you think Knox beating up on those teams (again, zero games against top 64 rated schools) gives them a shot, I'd love a drink of your Kool Aid.   Chatard would name the score against every team Knox has played.  You can deny it all you want or discount anything you want.    Doesn't change anything.   Knox may keep it close for a while just because of the way they play, but they're. Ot bullying Chatard for 4 quarters.   Just not happening.

I'm with you to an extent. I don't think anyone from Valley or Delta said they were gonna run through Chatard's face. I think a lot of people praised Valley for the season they had and were interested in what the game would look like, but i think most still said Chatard would beat Valley. I also think that was kind of the measuring stick for the playoffs and after seeing that, any public school that matched up with Chatard was going to get running clocked or close to it. If there was anyone dumb enough to say a 3A team was going to run through Chatard's face then i'm sure they were just trolling on here.

Gotcha, I forgot that the sagarin has never been wrong and the projected winner always wins!  Honestly, we should probably just save everyone the risk of injury and anoint Chatard champs now.
I don’t think that Knox thinks that at all.  I think that every team left should think they can win and if they don’t, they don’t belong here anyway.

Chatards schedule is impressive and it is obviously why they are favored but I wouldnt instantly dismiss a team because their schedule, which they have no control over, is “weak”.
If Chatard had the exact same team they have now but were from Royal Center you would still be praising whomever they were playing and have no idea because of their weak schedule.

You can only control whats in front and when it boils down, its two teams and the one that executes will win regardless of what their weak schedule or sagarin says.

    Chatard thinks they can win.

Chatard is going to execute more than Knox.

Regardless of schedules and sagarin, Chatard is going to win.

  9. Three of Luers games they won by a combined score of 6 points. Less than a touchdown. They very well could have came into this playoffs 3-6. And that's without playing two of the top teams in the SAC. I'm sorry, I'm just not going to get on board that this Luers team is the favorite in this game. I think they have better athletes at some positions than LCC, but overall both sides of the ball and special teams, I'm going with LCC. I said it once and I'll keep saying it, unless Luers does prove me wrong which they might, the two best teams in the North played each other back in week 2 of sectionals.

Agreed...still trying to figure out how they won last 2 games scoring 2 total offensive TD's.  Good thing they were playing Carolina and NE.

There are some bad offenses in the NFL this year...my concern is that the Colts are one of them.

I get that feeling all the time, and yet up until this week, we were the only team in the NFL to score over 20 points in each of our games. The streak would've ended if it weren't for our defense scoring against Carolina, but all the other games the offense has put up some decent numbers

Schwartz had a heck of a game against LaVille on the defense.

Absolutely as well as our game. I always make a point to go and shake the hand of players I felt stood out. Once i got done shaking the coaches hands, I found him as fast as I could. Luckily I just had to look up and find the tallest player on the field. He does an excellent job of getting hands on and creating separation. A very very great player. I have a lot of respect for the young man.

Gotta disagree here... Luers presents ALOT of matchup problems for Lcc... that D end is just one of em... if Lcc is to hav a pig in pokes chance in this game... its between the ears.... jmho

LCC will have a better quick game passing the ball than what Bluffton had to equalize that. Bluffton's screens weren't ran near as well as LCC will run them and was still effective against Luers. The slants and stick concept will be key for LCC. I guess we will find out Friday.
