  1. Was there anybody in the northern part of the state (who wasn’t playing) who wasn’t at that 2015 game😳 End zone was a who’s who of Indiana coaches
  2. Jack Kiser is incredibly humble. His 2018 team had 3 D-1 players in the backfield and the state’s 100 meter champion.
  3. That’s a bold statement Cotton
  4. Pioneer first drive fumbles Knox recovers. Knox first play scores. Pioneer next drive pass goes thru receivers hands ricochets off his helmet into Knox DB hands pick 6. Ball game as Pioneer mails it in from there. Knox way more physical and easily better team and they were very impressive. Pioneer was without the usual missing dudes, but it would not have mattered.
  5. If Pioneer can’t get healthy they’ll go no place. Never seen a year like this. Young teams tend to get a little beat up but lack of weight room commitment also factors in to often injured imo.
  6. So the conference Knox is in currently, which they have never won, wasn’t a solid and challenging football conference?🤔
  7. Well the first play was a quick out to Harrison, so the ten really had no impact on the first play. OSU apparently noticed the shortage and ND did not in spite of Freeman’s pathetic answer where he didn’t want a penalty. Notre Dame is not the place for young first time HC’s to cut their teeth.
  8. :07 left OSU goes with 12 personnel which means ND puts Kiser in and Harper out. Rubio, JJT, Cross, Mills on field 11 players are on field. ND calls time out. Puts Harper in (goes nickel)and takes Kiser out. Believe also means Botelho in for Rubio. Rubio is out and Some reason Botelho does not take field. Only have 10 on field. Incomplete pass. OSU puts in new RB, ref stops snap to give ND opportunity for personnel changes….37 seconds pass …no personnel changes for ND. (Why Bertrand, Liufau, or dline doesnt recognize no 11th guy for :37 secs and 20 coaches watching is anyone’s guess )….TD :37 and Freeman states he knew he had 10. 🤔
  9. Poor play-calling by both coordinators as well as HC. Disappointing. Players deserved better.
  10. Game time decisions to sit FB and QB and center. It happens. Moved HB to QB, TE to FB and guard to center great effort just too much Shively to over come and costly errors in red zone doomed Panthers
  11. 8th graders cannot play varsity.
  12. I’m confident Dashawn Woods their RB will go D-1 His brother did last year too ( Eastern Illnois) Many had HC winning and now want to discount it, I get it. Good for the young Panthers to see that level of athleticism. 1A just doesn’t have that level of player.
  13. So now 1A should beat 5A’s You should run for political office.
  14. Hammond Central (4-0) at Pioneer (3-1) The Wolves did everything they could to lose at Highland last week, committing 25 penalties before escaping 21-15 in overtime. If they do that again, they'll lose. But if they don't, they should win this one. Hammond Central, 34-20. Worked this game last night at Pioneer. Pioneer was just more physical than Hammond Central. I told a Pioneer guy that Central had better athletes for the most part, but Pioneer had better football players. Penalties did not hurt HC this week. Pioneer was able to keep the stud RB in check for most of the night and usually had several hats hitting him when he did run the ball. The HC QB missed some shots later in the game but really threw some nice balls, just out of reach. One was a touchdown, but it got knocked out of the receivers hands at the goal line. Again, physicality of Pioneer. Pioneer was somewhat smaller sized across both lines. Pioneer also played about 9 guys both ways. You just felt like the HC RB could break one at any time, and he eventually did, but the Pioneer staff had him scouted very well. My 2 Cents. good write up of Pioneer game from one of the officials. I would agree with his assessment and add their were 2 forced fumbles inside Pioneer’s red zone that were huge. Pioneer was without their center and if they can ever get full team playing at same time would be huge for them. Everybody deals with that but when you are depth challenged to begin with “next man up” mantra is difficult.
  15. Pioneer 28 Hammond C 12 final
  16. They will move Kiser to Mike and play Sneed at Rover
  17. Will be shocked if it isnt Kiser Bowen hasn’t played a snap yet of defense. A little surprised with Navy and Tennessee St already passed on schedule
  18. If Laville can incorporate Plummer more into their run game I believe that would make them a pretty dangerous team come Oct and Nov. Defense is fairly solid and Kicking game is already top notch. Cannot stress enough how important it is to make high school teams drive the length of the field repeatedly. Very tough to do.
  19. C’mon man, it’s 11 on 11 it’s not 11 on 40 cause you’re 5A But I hear ya and see where you’re comin from Panthers get two starters back this week who have been out all season. Should help them down the line whether win or lose tomorrow. Have five games to get up to speed for tourney.
  20. Hammond Central lost to them 2 years ago Chesterton lost to Pioneer 3 years ago It can and does happen
  21. Just a note on Caston-Pioneer game Pioneer led 21-0 at half and 35-0 with running clock in 4th as Caston punched one in. Really was impressed with Caston linebackers, thought they played their tails off. Made play after play. Score not indicative of how well that group played.
  22. Laville 38 Winamac 6 Pioneer 35 Caston 6 West Central 52 Culver 18 Knox 22 North Judson 18
  23. Pioneer fought hard but credit Laville for making some big plays to pull away for the win 29-13. Often over-looked weapon in high school football is having a kicker who can put it in the end zone every time. Plummer leg left the Panthers with long fields time after time. panthers had two big drives total of 24 plays in first half with no points. Laville scored with :01 left in half for a 10-7 lead. First drive of second half saw Pioneer freshman safety with interception with Panthers at midfield. Back to back illegal procedures killed the momentum. Plummer made huge plays with his legs and arm to doom Pioneer.
  24. Triton snd Knox will be on cruise control this week. I like CMA to get the W over Jays. Jays lost a wealth of talent to graduation and have some injuries. CMA size may be too much for NJ as well. Good opponent to only help NJ down the road win or lose. Baby-faced but hungry Panthers look to continue improvement. If they win, great, but the goal is to be hitting their stride week 10. they should look to continue growth and develop some needed depth. Laville has another nice team with 4-yr starter at QB. Looks like they have some size as well. Laville RB looked on tv liked he was knocked out. Hopefully, its nothing too serious and he is able to get back to form. I like these Panthers tho, mental and physical toughness are forged in games like this for young teams. Winamac starts quite a few seniors and I think they find some success against a 2-0 N White team. Can they score enough to pull out the W? I think so.
  25. No clue couldn’t resist Rochester still might be team to beat in TRC as Valley might be that darn good this year. What do I know…
