    Bad break for Lincoln.

    Maybe.

i just kinda feel like none of the top 4 teams should play each other until round 2.

VL and GS were going to have play each other at some point and we all want to see it.  Week 12 would have been more ideal though lol

The SIAC took a big hit in Sagarin this week

Add 5 points to each and I think that’s about where it should be.  These seem slightly too low….but hey…we all know that sagarin by the end of the year starts to look pretty good

  3. Gibson Southern 63

    Princeton     0

The only thing that really is worth mentioning here is that Gibson Southern held Princeton to I believe -12 offensive yards.

im not sure GS has ever done this and it’s certainly very rare for it to happen to anyone

box score show -82 yards but there is a safety that was mislabeled as -85 yards when it should have been -15

  4. Princeton @ Gibson Southern

Princeton actually forced Gibson Southern to punt on the opening drive and then started to move the ball.  But 6 minutes later and 2 pick sixes later the game is pretty much over

    GS 28

    Princeton 0

    4 minutes left 1st Qtr

Probably will just come back and post the final later and that’s it

My wife was utterly confused when she first visited Wisconsin.  We were sitting in some random chain restaurant here in Green Bay and she asked for sweet tea….and the waiter brought her iced tea and sugar packs.  The look on her face.

one of the things I miss about southern Indiana….if I ask for a sweet tea in Gibson County….no matter if it’s at someone’s house or a restaurant….they have it….and they wouldn’t even dare to mention unsweet tea or giving me sugar packs.

Between sweet tea and Indiana actually having good hs football worth watching it get pretty tempting to move back.  Y’all just need to figure out something for that heat.

If we are listing winning things from Princeton…you have to add Taco T.

    omg yes

although I’m pretty sure it started in Mt Carmel.

when I’m visiting SW Indiana I go out of my way to go to Taco T because that sweet tea is just too good.  People up north here in Wisconsin would probably call it syrup but I don’t care lol

are you testing us to see if we are paying attention and keeping ya honest on a random internet competition with no prizes??? Because I will lol

Purdue, if they can win back to back weeks at Wisconsin and home vs Iowa, those are their biggest games

It’s going to be awfully tough now that Jim Leonard is the coach.

he was the best kept secret in college football and nfl teams have been trying to poach him for years.  Have to imagine he will have the badgers playing back at their usual level.  Purdue probably needs their A game

The wrench I'll throw into this just for fun discussion:

GS wouldn't be running the "BA Offense" as it ultimately ended last November without a BA-type of QB.  It is a bit of an apples to oranges comparison to the current (and prototypical) GS offense, which I don't think many would say is an offense that can't be successful all the way to LOS.  If you forced BA to run the 2012-17 or 2022 offense only... I'd argue strongly that they'd have a tough go at making it to LOS.  What I mean is, if you tried to fit a round peg in a square hole it won't fit, and vice-versa.

TL;DR version: Taking the talent of a BA-type QB and putting it into different skill sets wouldn't preclude a trip to (or win at) LOS.

Strong points and fair ones.  However my point is more that despite pretty much everything going right for GS last year….it took a monumental effort from BA as well as the entire team and coaching staff to pull off that comeback to beat Brebeuf

Brebeuf was a 4A school by enrollment last year and beat the likes of Chatard, New Pal, Webo, Norwell….undefeated West Lafayette, and undefeated Mish Marian.  Their 2 losses were Cathedral (fair lol) and Roncalli 28-10 with the game being 7-3 at half.

to me they were just such an unbelievable good team who played probably the toughest schedule of anyone in 3A….unless GS had a different QB who was a true dual threat and also a Top 10 QB in the country….I just don’t think it would have happened.

Like….come on guys…..GS had Mr Football on their team putting up arguably the best QB season in state history by throwing for like 4200 yards with 58tds and 6 INTs lol….including 400 yards and 5 TDs in the title game. Just silly numbers

i feel like I can’t be in the minority here for this opinion lol

John Bosco and Mater Dei play Friday and most publications have them #1 and #2 in the country. Mater Dei already boasts a win over Bishop Gorman who most have in the top 10 as well as Centennial who is another top 15, top 20 team depending on publication. Guessing this is the biggest game in high school football this year.

It might be.  I just looked at the schedules and the IMG/St Francis game is the final game of the year so it will be interesting to see how that shakes out.

for what it’s worth, St Francis currently has the toughest SoS among any of the top 10 teams and possibly the country right now.  But that probably changes after this Friday with this matchup.

I wonder what it feels like to be the star players on the #1 and #2 teams in the country and be playing under Friday night lights against each other.  Probably an insane atmosphere

No no you don’t.  Not when your team is more talented at more positions than the opponent.  Maybe most schools can’t say they were more talented than a 4A P/P school.  Last year’s GS team doesn’t fit in that category.

I’m sure you feel very strongly about this, but my opinion I don’t think can be swayed too much.  It’s not lost on me that 3 kids from that team are playing D2 football and another 3-4 (maybe more) are playing D3.

despite all of that talent, if you took Brady off of that team, they probably don’t even make it to LOS and there is no way I can be convinced they would have beat Brebeuf without Brady….we were at the game…anyone else who was there knows too.

like I said though…you are probably firm in your opinion and I’m the same with mine and that’s okay.
