  1. My guess is that it came down to location and logistics. Most of the conference is north/northeast of 465. Brebeuf is right next to an exit and is close to 31. Guerin has easy access to the NE with 32/69/31. 10 team conference = a closed round robin in football, correct? Makes scheduling a lot easier, but I would be sad to see Chatard and Roncalli drop from the schedule, even if they’re in the same sectional (for now). If the plan is to leave some open dates with a 7 or 8 game conference football schedule, then I don’t see why those 2 would have been left out. I don’t know how other schedules work, but I doubt it makes a difference between 10 and 12 teams for those sports.
  2. I haven’t been apart of the vote for a while, but I would assume you only get one school in the offering, if Brebeuf didn’t get the qb then it should have been someone else. Harris had 2k yards, 10 ypc, and 25 tds Clarke had 59 for 1600 and 22. All of them could start at any power 6a team. One of them should have been the position award winner. edited for clarity.
  3. Geske did it this year. And last year. And the year before when he was given the chance. I guess this year’s hypothetical is if Warren would have been better with Geske or Willis.
  4. This. Geske has been putting up video game numbers for 2.5 years and did it against a higher level of competition. I understand that Lutheran won a ton with Willis, but cmon…
  5. Pretty sure the Brebeuf-Carmel matchup was a 1 year deal. They may be able to move some games around. 😉
  6. Not necessarily. There were a few penalties that wiped out some big plays and caused drives to stall out. I can think of two off the top of my head. It didn’t help that Danville went about 80 yards in 4 plays on one of those 4th quarter drives. After that happened, momentum was squarely behind them.
  7. I’ll take it a step further. Brebeuf had the ball inside the 20 with under 4 mins left up by 7. Run on first down and Danville calls their first timeout. Incomplete pass on second down. Sack on third down pushes the kicker outside of his range and missed the field goal. If Brebeuf had just run the ball 3 times, forced Danville to use their time outs, and kicked a chip shot field goal to go up by ten, then the end game plays out entirely differently.
  8. Feel bad for Danville. Yes they were on the field early, but it didn’t really impact the play at all. Hate to see a game be decided on a letter of the law type of call.
  9. Brownsburg had like 4 big boy plays from their wr and the rb that set up the scores. It wasn’t like they were consistently gashing the giants. BD coughed it up like 3 or 4 times in the first half. BB should have put them away early but didn’t.
  10. I know it’s bait, but **** you. What’s sad is you trying to undermine someone who is close to the school when it comes to the situation. If you have something more to add, please share it with the Wayne township PD. If your info is sensitive to any ongoing investigation, then you’re an idiot for opening your mouth in the first place since this is a public forum. I’m a soft, north side private school kid from Indy, and I felt perfectly safe at this game. I never once felt that I needed a bulletproof vest. I sat right next to the student section. All that I saw was a lot of passionate football fans having fun in the stands. It was awesome. 10/10 experience. Edited for brevity.
  11. I knew you were being tongue-in-cheek. I was simply trying to return the favor. Sarcasm is hard online, no hard feelings. Since I have the podium, The Braves are losing a good senior class. They were a winning group and - from afar - they seemed to really grow together and play for each other. That’s what makes me most proud. At times, the offense has looked as good as it has in years. The qb should grow with his class of receivers over the next couple of years. They have a talented sophomore RB and some returning size on OL. I hope the current D staff stays in place until the end of time. They have shown they can develop a stingy unit year over year. Same goes for the special teams. A bit of a bitter sweet ending. I wasn’t so sure how things were going to turn out after the first half in game 1 against chatard. But, credit to the players and coaches for getting better week over week. It was fun to follow along.
  12. Yeah I didn’t see anything of the sort all week. The only thing missing on your bingo card was not one - but two - fifty yard touchdown passes by the southsiders. I don’t think I’ve seen such a thing happen with my own eyes, that’s for sure.
  13. Brebeuf is able to force a punt to get the ball back with 4:30 left. A few nice plays puts the braves into scoring position. Roncalli forces a good stop on second down and then a strip sack on the roncalli 40 yard line on the very next play. Roncalli wins 21-14. Tough loss for the braves. They had a real chance to win. Roncalli played well enough to win and turnovers were ultimately the difference in the result. Immensely proud of the effort. That was a proper sectional championship game.
  14. Penalties pin Brebeuf back after the roncalli td. Brebeuf throws a pick 6 from their own 20. 21-14 roncalli with 9:30 left.
  15. Another long touchdown pass over the middle for roncalli. 14-14 with 10:30 4Q
