I think that's coming..with most young people graduating and moving to bigger cities, smaller towns and schools will decline. I see co op coming within 10 years or so. South Newton/North Newton West Central/North White Attica would go with Fountain Central?

Just looking at Maxpreps. It seems Sheridan lost a lot from last season, that's not taking anything away from North Miami's win but Sheridan did lose a ton.

Heard Bowyer and Rigney have missed the first two games of the season, that definitely explains a lot.

North Miami 36 Caston 12. Triton over Culver big. North Judson over South Central. Pioneer over Winamac It'll be a good learning curve for the young warriors.

I think the Knox/Pioneer game shows us, we may have to take it a couple weeks before we can really grasp teams. I had heard Cass has lost a lot the last couple seasons, I think Knox losing to NJ could perhaps be the best thing for the team. A wake up call of sorts. I think not acknowledging that most of your red zone visits were caused by the turnovers late and those late turnovers allowed you guys back into the game. Yes Winamac didn't dominant but I can tell you I didn't get nervous until about the final 3 minutes.

Yes they had 4 drives where they stalled inside the 20 but two of those were aided by an Ill advised pass by Adriano and a fumble after an interception. It was 24-8 at one point, if anything winamacs poor play late let WC back in the game.

They are talking about Colton Popejoy a current 8th grader who switched from Winamac to Pioneer. Popejoy is the one who switched from Winamac to Pioneer. He's currently an 8th grader. Winamac's starting QB is Adriano a freshman

He's definitely grown up some. I know his grades have been better and attitude has been better as well. I'm not really sure if Popejoy was the rated #1 QB in his grade or not. He's a really good football and basketball player though. I feel pretty confident in that before baseball season even started that it wasn't set in stone that X was gonna even be a QB in HS, he can do damage at other positions outside that spot and the Popejoys were told that but when Cash Roth decided to not to play, Winamac didn't really have another choice at QB so X became the guy, I'm not sure if the Popejoys didn't think he could beat out X or not next year or didn't believe what they were told. I'm sure Colton will do well learning from Rans next season and playing another position next year and then be the QB as a sophomore. I think the 7 on 7 spring/summer stuff will help him show case his passing ability. Pioneer has never really been a throwing team and didn't change the offense for Jack so I don't think theyll change the offense for this kid. It really hurts in basketball too. He and another kid were a nice tandem and behind Jaybin Hines...that would have been a nice 3 headed monster there.

His mom is a Pioneer graduate. His dad is a Winamac graduate. If I remember right they live close to Royal Center. His sister is a sophomore at Winamac.

I didn't go to the scrimmage as you know but I was told Winamac didn't run that offense very much against WC. Addison Allen and Tearson Wolford got a few more carries then they did in the scrimmage. They still have some issues they'll need to work on and some won't go away this year due to lack of size and inexperience but one thing I'm definitely looking forward to is seeing the Sophomores and Freshman progress as the season moves forward...having the starting QB for 3 more years after this and most of the skilled guys/lineman for 2/3 more years after this is exciting. I'm also looking forward to seeing how Addison Allen and Talen Garner do in both their senior years.

Winamac had chances to really put that game away but youth and not having much experience doomed them. Both teams showed their youth last night and have a lot to clean up.

To be fair, North Judson is gonna be awfully good and it didn't shock me they won, just shocked me that they pulled away like they did. I think Knox will beat Pioneer but I said all summer I don't think Knox is a top team in 3A because I don't think they'll be the best team in their conference. I think that's Valley but we'll find out week 4 I think. My biggest issue is not having a QB. Myles is great. Conroy is a dude but they aren't QB's but I know under Coach Radtkes system most of the time the QBS are just a rich man's Runningback.

A much needed W? I get it, Winamac is awful young but some of these posts are really doing a disservice to some of the kids. Tearson Wolford, Addison Allen, Talen Garner and Xavier Adriano can play. It wouldn't shock me to see them win 3 games in conference. Kids will have time to grow each week and build confidence. They started 5 Sophomores, 3 freshman and 2 more freshman got playing time, those freshman have a lot of potential, just need to grow, get your licks in now because in 2026 and 2027, you won't.
