  1. Gibbs plays both sides of the ball, but 90% is a stretch. Watch the public film. Also it is clear he is wasn’t even running the show against Merrillville. From what I’ve seen, when Crown Point has a solid lead, the second and third string rotate in after halftime. That’s why the score doesn’t reflect how the game actually played out
  2. Westfield played as advertised. They were the better team. On the home side we had many many open seats so I don’t think this is a fair assessment of the turnout for fans. Clearly more Westfield fans who didn’t have to travel but with the travel and the weather I would have expected the home side to overflowing. The stands could have all fit in the middle section. And we would have stayed warmer!
  3. Agreed. My point was more about the opponents, but I see now that I didn’t make that clear.
  4. That’s correct—he is a senior. From what I’ve been told, there hasn’t been a commitment yet. There’s definitely been interest, but I’m not sure if any firm offers are on the table. Crown Point rarely posts or updates player stats during the season, which, when explained, makes sense. However, it does make it significantly more challenging for others to evaluate the players. It’s certainly not the usual approach, but Buzea’s method has been effective, so I can’t argue with it. That said, you can still find some stats from the games on social media
  5. Couldn’t agree more with your assessment. This year’s semi-state matchups are packed with intrigue and excitement, and Friday night lights across Indiana should not disappoint. Wish I could catch more than one game, but it’s not in the cards this week.
  6. I thought that Crown Point didn’t allow video stream for the majority of their games though. Can you give insight into whether you think this is Indiana wide, the Northern Indiana, etc. again, the student sections in the North 5A and Crown Point seem strong, some Michiana student section seem strong, and Indy student section seems to fluctuate…but I go to select games so it’s not fair to say based on my assessment.
  7. I’m guessing from past fan base of their opponents, which wasn’t much. That is what I was used to as well..full stands both sides. Student sections overflowing, concession lines - I am baffled as to to lack of Friday night lights
  8. Thanks for the feedback.hard to tell especially when fans were leaving so early unfortunately.
  9. After re-reading, I realized that. Just to clarify, I’m not rooting for one team over the other. It should be a great game! Both teams have the talent and potential to make some noise and leave their mark. Can’t wait to see the how it all unfolds.
  10. I was not at the Crown Point v Carroll game to see, however, I heard that Carroll’s fan base showed up in stronger numbers than expected. Maybe that is because the Lowell and Arizona College Prep games resulted in higher fan turnout than fan support from Lake Central, Portage, and Chesterton - which is surprising, especially since they’re so close to Crown Point. This is not the case in games throughout Indiana, it is so strange.
  11. I hit submit too early. This game will undoubtedly be Crown Point’s toughest challenge of the season to date. Westfield is a great, well-rounded, and disciplined team. Both sides will need to bring their absolute best, as it’s shaping up to be a matchup where preparation and execution will make all the difference.
  12. Crown Point's football team has a strong following, with fans often traveling to support the Bulldogs. During the recent Sectional Championship game against Penn, it was noted that Crown Point fans appeared to outnumber the home crowd, though this observation isn't confirmed. Fans rented chartered buses for the 1.5-hour drive to the game, and I heard that many students were called out early, highlighting the dedication. What was your assessment @GOLDRUSH1985 I have no doubt that this enthusiastic support continues for the game this Friday.
  13. Common opponent scores can be misleading, especially when comparing Week 1 to Week 5. Michigan City, for example, was still finding their rhythm early in the season but was playing significantly better by Week 5, even if their record didn’t fully show it. Looking at additional opponents both teams have faced is also important, as there’s a mix of strong and weaker teams that can influence perceptions. Look at Goshen and Crown Point. For Warsaw, the focus shouldn’t be on comparing scores but on preparing for Merrillville. And Merrillville on Warsaw. If Merrillville can overcome their semi-state challenges, they’ll be a serious contender. Merrillville has faced teams much tougher than them before, so this isn’t uncharted territory, it will be a matter of playing smart. This should be a great game!
  14. Watching games on TV just doesn’t compare, but I finally caught some of the game yesterday. As expected, Gibbs showed up and did his thing. What really stood out to me was the lack of any real attempts at big plays with Szymborski, Gibbs, and Soley—three big, fast dudes who usually make a splash for CP. Szymborski had one standout moment, but it was surprising that CP didn’t take more shots downfield with those 3. As for Carroll, Sullivan and VanPelt absolutely lived up to the hype. Sullivan’s precision was sharp, and VanPelt’s speed was something else. Together, they made an impressive duo, and I’m already looking forward to seeing what VanPelt brings next season. I’m still debating which game to catch on Friday, but Shamrocks vs. CP Dawgs is shaping up to be a great battle. Both teams are stacked with talent and always leave it all out on the field. Can’t wait to see how the season unfolds!
  15. Definitely not a kicking issue. Regular season, Brewer had a perfect FG record. At the Penn game, I believe he had his first missed FG all season.
