Will do. "Notre Dame is better than playing in the CFP"..............this year. Arguably the best team in the country, Pop Tarts Bowl was a slap in the face. And the Irish slapped back. You see Komets, EVERY bowl game wants a piece of Notre Dame more than any other school. They stand to make a TON of money off the Irish. That's why we can sit back, smile, and say "go pound sand." 🙂

Fake news. Don't believe everything you read.
-
Notre Dame: "If it comes down to Navy or the CFPS, then the CFPS can kiss our ass." Not sure how anyone with a moral compass can't admire the Irish for this. The more folks hate on Notre Dame for keeping Navy, the more I love Notre Dame for the loyalty they have for the service branch that saved them. If I save your life tomorrow I expect some f***ing loyalty til the day one of us dies. And vice versa. Make sense now?

@Irishman@Bobref@GOLDRUSH1985 Is this just something Irish fans understand? I'm beginning to think so. Trying to explain it to these guys is like beating a dead horse. I give up.
-
No question about it, he's good. Call him great if you want. I'll roll with very good for now.
-
Many coaches "never get caught." You're naive to think otherwise. Never said he wasn't a good coach, just trying to be objective here. His record at other programs may show that he's a good coach, but it doesn't show that he didn't cheat. I have nothing against Harbaugh, I've always liked him and loved how he pissed off the SEC by conducting practices in their backyard. That took balls. My view over the past couple of years has changed though. While still a great coach and probably a pretty cool guy to have a beer with, I think guy is shady and so does the rest of America. Is what it is. Get over it just like Notre Dame fans will get over the snub of the century.
-
If you don't understand by now why ND plays the Navy and why they always will, then you are too far gone for help.
-
One must wonder though. Does he cheat everywhere he goes?
-
At least someone still supports the armed services. A simple thank you will do.
-
Anyone home McFly? Scheduling them in 2026/2027 is self serving. Not playing them in a bowl game is telling everyone wanting to make money off the Notre Dame brand to go screw yourselves.
-
Stunk in their first game, stunk in their last game. Like I said, inconsistent football team.
-
Haven't really been paying attention to that story. You can't blame the guy, being an NFL coach is much easier than being a college coach. Freeman loves Notre Dame and would never ditch the Irish for another college program, but yeah, hard to ignore an offer from the NFL.

Not sure what the point is of giving mid majors false hope. The chance of one of them winning the whole thing is 0%. This would have been a much more interesting tournament with Notre Dame and (flip a coin) in it. The mid majors need a tournament of their own. I'd watch it. Football is fun no matter the level when teams are competing in their own weight class. Who wouldn't watch Tulane vs James Madison?

Crucify me, but I think the SEC is overvalued again this year. I think it's telling that Alabama went down 17-0. Indicative of their entire season. Inconsistent. That may catch up with them against a well coached team like Indiana. I just don't see the Tide as a team that can put together enough good games in a row against quality opponents to win the whole thing.
-
Agree. Anything but a #1 seed would be another snub.
-
I think it's naive to use word like nonsense. Your opinion is your opinion, but maybe try a different word. It's human nature to take care of your own. Look no further than this year. You do understand the relationship between ESPN, the CFPS, and the SEC, right? Five SEC teams while the independent with the third most likely odds to win the title is sitting at home. The Miami win over A&M wasn't as close as the scoreboard indicated. Neither Oklahoma or or Alabama looked very good. The SEC is overrated. The only "nonsense" I see is having five SEC teams in the field. And again, remember........ESPN = SEC and CFPS.
-
I think Bash hit the nail on the head. Wins over Miami and USC could be very good wins, but I imagine that an undefeated Big Ten or SEC would trump and undefeated ND team. But, as the committee stated leading up to the final ranking, eye test matter. The problem though is it didn't matter in the final ranking. Hence the question. Does the eye test matter or not?
-
Pitiful looking schedule though. Run the table or bust. It's Notre Dame vs ESPN. And with the new agreement in place, ESPN and the CFPS will relish in ranking a one loss Irish team #13. Sidenote: Seeing more on the internet about ND being the third most likely team to win this year according to oddsmakers. *****coming soon.
-
Remember, Chris Ash was in his first two games with Notre Dame. Freeman stepped in, made some adjustments, and playing much better the rest of the way. You didn't see that tutorial that Nick Saban gave on ND's defense on game day a few weeks back? Pretty impressive they way he broke it down. Like I said, I'm not going toe debate anyone who doesn't think they are Top 5, but if one can't acknowledge that ND is Top 10, then that's a person that's probably not intelligent enough to warrant debating with. Lol, you haven't been paying attention if you agree with that. C'mon Temp, like Bash, you're smarter than this. I shouldn't have to explain it again to you.
-
Nah, I think think these are two pretty good teams. Both deserving of a spot. At the end of the day, we all know what the real problem is here. I don't have a problem with anyone calling Notre Dame the 10th best team in the country, though I think they sit somewhere between 3-5 with a serious threat to be 1. The problem that needs to be fixed is Tulane and James Madison.
-
Just saying that you didn't deny that Notre Dame was a Top 5 team. The objective side of you believes that the committee got it wrong. The other side of you enjoys stirring the pot and getting into a debate. Hence your hesitation to admit what's going through your mind, that Notre Dame is more than likely a Top 5 team. I kinda wish this was Michigan's year to win the championship. Imagine the fun we'd have for the next 12 months regarding the asterisk. I hate to do that to IU, but looking forward to doing it to Ohio State or Georgia.
-
Your metrics said that Notre Dame was the #5 team in the country and you didn't deny it. Something change?
-
Fact. Denial.
-
You're smarter than this. For the millionth time, new D coordinator, new quarterback, different team now. Vegas sees it, Saban sees it, film specialists see it. And some fan holding a sign is supposed to hold some kind of weight? Look, I'll give you your Hoosiers, damn good team. Georgia? Looking pretty good . Ohio State? Well, they're Ohio State. But there's not a team playing this weekend that could beat Notre Dame right now. I'd say that's closer to fact than it is opinion.
-
Thoughts on the game: Didn't watch it. No interest in a game featuring two teams inferior to Notre Dame. Picked up a recording this morning, not much else on at 3:30am, right after Alabama made it 17-7. Oklahoma had a nice pass that was dropped by a running back that would have put them in position to go up 24-7. That was it, looked up the final outcome on ESPN. Tulane and James Madison are a waste of time in my opinion. I'm intrigued by the A&M vs Miami game though. I think the Hurricanes are playing with a chip on their shoulder. I hope they win one for the ACC.
