  1. Just the overall, free to abandon your team at the first sign of "holy shit, I have to do it the coach's way." It's like Coach Knight said, "If we can't just drop a kid because we changed our mind, then why can they." Now, that might be a bit extreme, but you get my point. The "pathetic" comment pertains to certain aspects, not the entire picture. Go Clemson.
  2. Honestly kind of pathetic.
  3. This is why I like Dabo Swinney. If ND doesn't win the National Title, I hope Clemson does.
  4. Hope there's no poaching going on. It's one thing for a kid to come to you, but don't go after another coach's players. I'm not singling out Elkhart, just a general rule all coaches should follow. Good coaching starts from the ground up..............build your program from within.
  5. I guess if that's what it takes to be competitive. Although, with their enrollment, they should be Top Ten without transfers one would think.
  6. Sounds like they had a really good team last year. Left out of the limelight with all the Indy teams just north of them. They really took it to DC, excuses or not.
  7. It's not like CN is a bad team. Coming within a touchdown of both FC and Chatard says something about them. Seems like it took awhile for DC to heat up last season.
  8. Columbus North 18-14 the past three seasons. Waxed Decatur Central in Week 1 last year. Came within a touchdown of Franklin Central and Chatard. Many would claim that CN/DC later in the season would have produced a different result. Not picking on this team at all, just wonder how that resume puts them in the Top Ten in 6A. It's gotta be transfers. Either that or that publication is really struggling. No dog in the fight, let them have their time in the limelight. Love to see representation outside of Indy. Although Columbus is damn near a burb.
  9. Good grief Rodney, you're being a bit dramatic here. For the record, I think Ben Davis was the best team in the state of Indiana in 2023. I think Brownsburg and Center Grove were right there if memory serves me correctly. I've pretty much kept my opinion regarding Snider vs EC on the downlow knowing that it would hurt a lot of feelings. People were saying the same thing about New Pal back in 2015 before they found themselves on the short end of a blowout down 42-14 half way through the second quarter. Look, you can't ignore Snider outscoring Warren Central, Decatur Central, and Merrillville by a combined 103-26. They gave up two offensive touchdowns, one special teams touchdown, and two field goals in those three contests. Saying that Snider could or would have beaten East Central is far from being unrealistic. It's actually responsible. Flattered by the Notre Dame comparison though.
  10. I think DC has a lot going for them, just don't think #5 in their first year in 6A is realistic. Who knows.
  11. Not really feeling DC at #5 and CN at #8. Maybe it's just me.
  12. Was Brownsburg known for their prolific offense? Either way, he came from a winner. Not the be all end all though.
  13. Even the Facebook contingent is giving WC lots of praise. Apparently they have a VERY good QB. I seem to be alone in my prediction on them. I'll stand by it though. In my opinion, a new coach in the MIC/HCC isn't much different than an MAC coach coming over to the Big Ten. Could be good, could be bad. Time will tell.
  14. Two out of the past three. Sixty six percent chance the 6A representative comes out of the north.
  15. They had enough talent to overcome their shortcomings. That's really what it came down to. And the 15 pts they scored against Snider was the second highest output for any team on Snider's schedule. Lot's of talent on that team.
  16. Last year, I want to say Warren had a 1st and over half the field against Snider. Between 50 & 60 yards I believe.
  17. Lol, yes. If you believe in trends, that's how many wins Pike will have this season.
  18. I can live with that. Most on here seem to be confident in their new coach. Don't forget, being ranked 20 in the state of Indiana is a compliment for any program. There's some damn good football in this state.
  19. EC was too one dimensional. They would have been lucky to go over the 14 mark. The question is, could Snider have scored 17. I think yes. If you watch film of both programs, I think Snider was a serious match-up problem for EC. Too bad that game never happened. Snider kept both Merrillville and DC out of the endzone, let's not get ahead of ourselves here Rodney.
  20. Good point, forgot about that. I was going to call it a pickem, but I know everyone was really high on New Pal last season.
  21. Not sure top to bottom really matters considering every class really only has four legitimate contenders. Again, 10 of the 12 years were one by a 5A enrollment school or Cathedral (whatever class you want to call them.). "Dominated" by lower enrollment schools is false and a massive stretch. I say that because I view Cathedral as a 5A/6A program based on the advantages they have over their 4A peers. You agree with the "clobber" statement? Good grief. I agree with everything else. Major miss on the IHSAA's part.
  22. Contrary to public opinion, Snider/EC in 2023 could have gone either way. I actually have Snider as the favorite in that game. I think Snider's defense would have given them fits. Low scoring game for sure. I see New Pal beating DC last season, but hardly "clobber." East Central wouldn't have clobbered Snider, Valpo, Merrillville, or North Side in 2022. I wouldn't even guarantee a win over any of those teams. Not going back any further............back to work.
  23. Dominated by Cathedral, which is an open enrollment school. To say they are a 4A school is laughable. New Pal did it twice. 5A enrollment schools did it 6 times. One could conclude, let's call Cathedral a 5A program (many would call them 6A with open enrollment and no feeder schools), that 10 of the 12 titles came from 5A programs and only 2 by 4A programs. Ran out of "likes", so..............like.
  24. No one's finished the sequence yet..............1, 3, 5, __. Probably no clue what I'm referring to. Pike is trending up with Mike Brevard. And if they continue, that puts them at 7 wins this year. That's it really. No clue who they lost or who they have coming back. Darts.
  25. It all started when Cathedral departed. That's when 5A became "down." They were even down when Snider, DC, and Mishawaka were still there. They'll be "up" this year, mark my word, lol.
