The Tigers need not worry about the Penn's, Carroll's, Crown Point's or Indy schools. They'll be duking it out with Valpo and Merrillville in 5A North. Elkhart has potential, but that's about it right now.

Yea, I saw that Warsaw dropped to 5A after I posted. They could be a player in 5A, if they have players coming back.

Thanks for sharing. I didn't think it was as bad as you made it out to be. Maybe the kids weren't as surprised about the outcome as the Notre Dame kids were. My only advice to Penn fans would be: Give this guy a shot! I like the youth in him. Hiring from within the program tells me that there's still passion from within the program.

Ready to get this season started! 6A North: Crown Point, Penn, Snider, & Carroll. Let's see if  "True North" can make it three in a row. Note that I put Penn in there and not Homestead (although always a threat). I think most fans still consider Penn a perennial contender regardless of their outcome a year prior. That's says something about the program.

Don't forget abou Warsaw, Elkhart has a ways to go.

State of Illinois can't afford them to stay there, so they pay our local RE agency to take them & house them on the move. Then they're on their own. Illinois & especially Chicago are trying to reduce the population in the state.

So, you talking about US citizens or the people from the Biden border disaster?

There have been some change in the enrollment at Bellmont due to new move ins from the Chicago area. Many of the rural Bellmont families have not been pleased with this & fear safety concerns. There is also a preconceived notion that the academics & culture at Adams Central & South Adams are a better fit for those families now. I will say that this is not me speaking personally, but what I've been told. I know North Adams sent out something on Facebook about thoughts to curb enrollment decline. We all saw that AC was moving to 2A in football due to success factor, but would have any way as the enrollment jumped up a bit.

Jay County has to cancel school more frequently during weather events than the 3 Adams County schools. If Adams County residents had their way, you would see the prior consolidations reversed to a degree. Many in Adams County feel that the one school system is not conducive to learning and that Jay County students are not getting the same quality of education. Jay County would probably be better served to have 2 smaller schools in all honesty. As for Blackford, that area is really struggling economically. I believe that has had a major impact on the academics as well as their athletics.

What really needs to happen is a career centered school/building to be built between Bluffton & Monroe. Look up Vantage Career Center in Van Wert County Ohio (next door so to speak). If I'm not mistaken, students that want to take certain trade classes, medical, and etc have to travel to one of the schools that offer it. For example media was at Bellmont, small engines at AC, machining at South Adams, and etc. This career center would service students from the 3 Wells County, 3 Adams County, Jay, & Blackford schools.

For me personally, I would like to remain at 3 schools in the county. I'd be fine with more than 3 actually.  I think 6 small schools would be great academically. For athletics, I'd say request co-ops for football & baseball but separate for basketball & maybe wrestling & individual sports.

Why are people from Chicago moving to the Decatur area? Have family that live in that district (Belmont) and haven't hear that being an issue??

I'm not trying to be a smartass here. Snider had 52 points scored on them in the postseason. I assume you are saying backups were in for the other scores, or were the other touchdowns defensive scores and special teams by the other team? If so, that's a lot of points the offense/special teams is giving to the other team.

28 of those points came from Anderson and North Side games, which were blow outs. So I'm thinking those points were against the 2nd/3rd teamers. They gave up 18 to Mishawaka in a very tight game, got burned deep a few times. Semi state and state game they gave up a total of 6 points, shutting out the Merrillville "paper tigers".

Homestead, Dwenger, and Northrop are all annual games and none of those are mentioned. I'm not sure where where and how John Harrell gets his information. I know Snider and EN have a pretty good relationship. Barring a catastrophic event, I don't see that game being canceled. I'm 99.275% sure Snider will be hosting them in Week 2.

    Are you sure it's not 99.99% ??😀

The schedule looks incomplete. Snider inked East Noble for at least 4 years.

Yea, I know it is incomplete, but if the games are set/inked they should be on schedule. I thought I saw game on schedule last month, just wondering if contract got cancelled?? That happens from time to time.

Per this previous post Penn played (in state) two of the states best teams Nationally in 2011 and 2017... and Penn wasn't even ranked in the top 100 either season...no wonder they got smoked....

I mean set aside that those teams were just lightyears better than Penn....but we will just overlook that at the moment. lol

I know this the timeline is earlier, but thinking Penn had the best run ever in Indiana high school football. over 6 year period, 5 trips to title game winning 4 of them. Not sure who else has had a better run in top class??

Yes, but the way they structure their NIL is vastly different than the pay for play schools you just listed.  The reason Michigan is so successful in the transfer portal is that they get a second crack at kids who took the bag when recruited the first time out of high school.

Ohio State just got in a public bidding war with two Florida schools for a 5 star WR.  He "verbally committed" in the early afternoon and signed right before bed time because he "wanted to make sure the structure of the NIL deal OSU promised was in place."

This is NOT how NIL was intended.

NIL and transfer portal has exploded and was done wrong IMO to begin with. This could potentially kill football program at lower levels or tiers. You can already see this in the bowl games.

I guess you'd have to compare his average per carry to those nine with more rushing yards than him. Either way, he's a darn good running back. He was late to the party being a backup his junior season, but the DII programs are taking notice currently.

Yea, not sure where yards per carrier for backs can be found, but would be interesting. I though he may have FCS or DII talent, maybe even non P-5 FBS talent??
