There is never a circumstance where that saying is offensive.
Everything is based on the shoes that you stand in.

People were offended when Louis Riddick said that. 😅
When a Diné coach says that direct quote to a team full of Diné players (maybe a Hopi or two), I think the circumstance might make it okay.

I taught for a while on/in the Navajo Nation. We were the Fighting Scouts. A key phrase was, "Too many chiefs, not enough warriors."

Yes, I know the name well. I was being facetious. Kids get on me for publicly body shaming nowadays. Handsome.

My comment was mildly facetious, but I will respond with earnestness. We will probably never completely agree on the topic, and that is fine with me. I respect your opinion and understand your viewpoint.
My contention is that I do not find the term "Indian" offensive. I say that acknowledging I am neither the perpetrator (Catholic) nor aggrieved party (Native American) in this scenario. If someone wants to change names, focus on things like Angel Mounds. Can you name the group or tribe who inhabited the area and built the mounds? I had to wikipedia it myself, and I have been there numerous times. The name Angel comes from the family who owned the property in the 1800's. That seems like a more noble cause for a name change.
I can't tell you off-hand the name of the Mississippi Indians and how they inhabited Angel Mounds (to save people from googling) but I could tell you there once was a chief named Tecumseh and the Kickapoo Indians once inhabited Indiana. I may never heard those names or had a curiosity sparked, if the people of Lynnville or Owensville had changed them. Indian names and imagery are completely imbedded in the language of this state, Indiana. Mississinewa, Wapahani, Maconaquah. The merging of cultures and histories, warts and all, is something I would rather see embraced than erased.
I will end with another facetious comment.
According to Ludacris and Missy Elliot, "Minuteman" is as about a derogatory term as a someone could be called. Hey-ooo.
Here I go off topic a wee bit. When I lived in Ecuador, I met a relative of Tecumseh from southern Ohio, Charley Brown...you might be able to find him...true...Cuenca, Ecuador. He was a direct descendent of Tenskwatawa, The Prophet. Charley said he could see the future, too. And, I always tell my kids not to be judgy but one of those mentioned names is the most handsome woman I've ever seen. Mac something.

Why does there have to be a money factor involved for the mechanics of promotion/relegation to work? You classify teams not by their enrollment but entirely on their success/failure as a program over a determined amount of time.

Oh you're serious! So how does it help Frankfort to join a 1A and 2A conference and then play a 4A sectional? Their roster last year had nearly 60 guys listed. Not many schools in the HH have that.
Insert socioeconomic/soccer data here.

The kids in the hallways and classes say that they hear 2 more to come to the TRC. The admin is tight-lipped. We shall see 🙂.

I misunderstood, I thought he meant your JV playing other varsity.
Playing your own JV….nah one intra-squad scrimmage a year is more than plenty.Center Grove should send their B team to play in 5A.

A true system of promotion and relegation is the logical answer to all this rhetoric.
You can't be true to a system that picks its players. It's just a rehash of the success factor from top to bottom.

I find it interesting that folks are highlighting p/p schools as something that this would impact most. Realize that WeBo won three consecutive 2A titles in 2018-2020. Of interest is that Luers, who WeBo beat in their third-straight appearance, said nary a word about the supposed "injustice," but I do recall a few public school posters giving WeBo a hard time about that.
Also, Pioneer had three visits in a row to LOS in 2016-2018 in 1A and actually had four visits in five years 2014-2018. In contrast, Scecina had only two visits in 2011-2012, lost both, and got bumped to 2A ... the only team, in the history of SF, to get bumped without getting a blue ring in the process.
While Lutheran and Mater Dei COULD indeed join the club, the programs that have ACTUALLY benefited from the set periods re-evals are public programs.
Nothing to see here...:)

New Conference: Penn, Elkhart, Warsaw, Homestead, Carroll, FW Snider, FW Northrop. 6 conference games, leaving 3 open weeks for non-conference games to maintain existing rivalries and play against opponents that fit the competitive level of each team (or cherry pick an easy win).
NLC: Concord, Goshen, Mishawaka, New Prairie, Northridge, NorthWood, Plymouth, Wawasee.
Summit Athletic - Public Division: SB Adams, SB Riley, SB Washington, FW North, FW South, FW Wayne
Summit Athletic - Private Division: SB St. Joseph, Mishawaka Marian, FW Bishop Dwenger, FW Bishop Luers, FW Concordia, FW Blackhawk Christian (this is a stretch, but they will become competitive quickly).
FWCS doesn't, generally, rip apart their schools/schedules.

Then frankly the system needs to change.
And not every student is cut out for "college prep" or for that matter a traditional 2-4 year college/university education. They are just are not, and I believe you and most other teachers know that. So why is this the farce still perpetuated?
Politicians. Codes. Laws. Statutes. Policies.

Why? How is that successful? Why do the "best and brightest" have to waste their time in classrooms filled with mediocre to downright bad student peers?
That's our system. We don't only send high-aptitude students to the local college prep high school, we send everyone.

Our best and brightest are just as good as the best and brightest anywhere. We don't test and send kids to different kinds of schools as in some countries, we throw them all into the same pool.

Because when it comes to government it is the logical and correct view.
Government has no business building football stadiums, or upscale apartment complexes, or shopping areas, etc. Period.
That is certainly a view that you've developed. There are many views on what a government should and shouldn't be. What a religious system should and shouldn't be. What an education system should and shouldn't be. Insert choice in there where you'd like. You're a product of where you come from.

I have lived in three, count them three, developing countries. There is nothing wrong with strong infrastructure and helping pay for good roads, schools, and the other social things. It's very hard to live in place that doesn't have good infrastructure and where the man doesn't take care of his place/people. They also use a true system of promotion and relegation because they PAY their players and recruit them. I've also seen some of the top players in their home countries as they develop and move on. Good football in Colombia and S. America. Of course, the best move on to countries where the money flows.
