Like any good group a kids.... Luers is more dangerous when dey been knocked outta their socks a few times  ... minus of course those what's his name yrs.. 😅🤣😂

Oh, you rack up double digit titles in 4 years of eligibility.  Nice to know.   True, if you can manage a clock, you might have more titles there...

  2. Luers at Northrop -  At times, Northrop gives Luers fits.

North Side at Homestead- I'm thinking Homestead has a chance....might switch my pick.

Snider at Wayne-  We'll see if Snider is quick strike and if Wayne keeps it close by using clock.

    South Side at Carroll-  OUCH!

    Concordia at Dwenger-OUCH!

Laville is possibly the best team in 2a that is a public school ! The question is will they be able to hang with the private schools in 2 a ? 30 some kids on a roster compared to 100 makes it tough ! That’s why we play the game !

yawn.  100 yawn.  It's the strength of schedule most years.  Luers appears to have a better defense this year.

I'll take Andrean.  Since Luers is putting athletes on defense now, maybe that way.

This is a cool match-up.  I'll have to see if I can catch this one.

St. Aug is my dad's and uncle's alma mater and I would have attended too if we hadn't moved to Texas back when I was in junior high.  It's an all-boys, Josephite Catholic school with strong traditions.  DeSoto's one of the perennial powerhouse teams out of the Dallas area.  It'll be a clash of city vs. suburbs, p/p vs. public, big vs. medium.  Fun fact: Around 1 out of 6 of St. Aug's students are IN THE BAND ... The Marching 100.

    "Alma Mater, St. Augustine,
    Alma Mater, Josephite High;"

This pumps me up.  Jumpin' Jehosephat...er Josephite...er...

When we (Ev Memorial) were suspended from post-season play in the early 90s for recruiting, the IHSAA allowed incoming seniors to transfer to another school without any loss of eligibility.  None did.

However, several of them said they were approached by one or more opposing coaches about transferring to their schools.

I thought that kinda summed it up pretty well.  It’s not a question of who’s crooked, it’s a question of who gets targeted and caught.  And I’ve never considered the IHSAA an honest referee for any of that.

We had a player get switched positions and adjoining school district schools approached him to play his original position.  It must have been the way the words flowed from the mouths or that his parents stayed silent...

Where were you at 20 years ago?

South America exactly, but Lakeland just after that.    It was always best fit for the child's wants/needs.

Agreed.  The traditional 4-year college route, now rife with semi-useless degrees and sky-high debt,  needs to stopped being pushed by the majority of government k-12 schools as virtually the only route after high school.

I haven't been in a school system that pushes college over trade over work over whatever fits best in over 20 years.

Neither will social security, not anymore.  You will probably get back less than what you paid in over your working lifetime.  At least if I have the choice to invest those monies myself I have a chance to maybe close that gap.

So based on your statement how in the world do people ever retire? There are less and less defined pensions plans out there.

Did you move to South Bend/Trinity?
