GS held the flexbone to 225 yards rushing.  I would expect HH to probably double those rushing yards against Danville.  Hope Danville had luck simulating it at practice this week.

But we had a season high 476 rushing yards on the ground in the first meeting and that was with leading rusher Jacob Wetzel on the sideline most of the game.

    Sorry couldn't resist.

I would imagine that first Gibson game was best we played this season on the offensive side of the ball.

  2. River Classic lineup has been shuffled from 4 games on Friday and 5 games on Saturday to 3 on Friday with North Posey Boonville added, 5 still on Saturday and the two teams playing in Semi state moved to Tuesday December 10th Barr Reeve/ Memorial and Bosse / Heritage Hills are the Tuesday double header.

So Now HH will have Big Mark Doyle and Cole Sigler available.

    Interesting.

Heritage Hills' approximate travel figures below.  I don't have the exact 2000 State Championship figures but know that team only had one home game as well.

Sectional - (All round trip numbers per Google Maps)
    Round 1 - at Corydon Central - 116 minute drive (116 miles)
    Round 2 - at Gibson Southern - 90 minute drive (96 miles)
Round 3 - Home vs Southridge

Regional- (All round trip numbers per Google Maps)
at Lawrenceburg - 332 minute drive (370 miles)

Semi-state- (All round trip numbers per Google Maps)
at Danville - 338 minute drive  (304 miles)

    Totals -
    Hours driven - 14.6 hrs
    Miles traveled - 886 miles

    JUST WIN BABY!

I did a google search for distances from Heritage Hills to the high schools we played in 2000 and 2004 because if we win Friday we would have 3 trips to state and only 1 home game each time.

Did the high school distances and added Indianapolis distance for the final and used Indy for Chatard 2004 also because believe game was at Pike but cant remember for sure.

    2000
    @ Washington 93.8
    @ Mount Vernon 114.4
    Memorial home
    @ Whiteland 265
    @ Roncalli 278.4

  5. Didn't notice the smell, only heard the Tiger roar once and after game was started didn't notice the traffic on US 50, Plus HH had so many fans I could hardly hear the Burg fans on other side of field.

Nice venue and the PA announcer  was one of the very few I noticed that didn't cheerlead, Almost all you can hear a little more excitement in their voice when the home team has a big play but not last night..It seemed like a home game just 180 miles away.

I'm only making this last post...

First, I didn't say L'burg would have won.

    What I did say...

    1) Sorry, it didn't play out full strength. HH never really stopped the Tigers in the first half, turnovers hurt. I expect Tigers would have continued to move the ball in the second half. What would have happened?

    2) L'burg looked better in the first half sans the turnovers. Really don't know how you objectively argue with this.

    3) There was a bad call that changed the complexion of the game, due to the nature of the call and position on the field. I wasn't bashing the officials and it wasn't the primary point of the post. (I said it was "adding insult to (future) injury.") I also said it happens, but that doesn't change the fact it did.

The primary point was that I was sorry it didn't play out full strength. Too bad Patriots fans can't acknowledge that fact might have changed things due to the importance of the QB in L'burgs system and the kind of year the young man had. (Not to mention the Tigers success moving the ball in the first half.)

Heritage Hills wasn't at full strength either we lost Gavin Vaal in the Gibson Southern game and at the time he was 3rd on the team in Tackles, 3rd in rushing yards, 2nd in kick return yards and 2nd in punt returns...

I said going in the biggest difference in these two teams was take away's after tonight the Patriots have a plus 25 Turnover ratio, Lawrenceburg has a -3 .

Yes losing the QB was huge and it stinks but when he was in there his numbers weren't exactly Steller  6 of 12 passing for 89 yards and 12 rushes for 28 yards a average of 2.3 yards per carry.

    Burd was held to 51 yards on 17 carry's a 3.0 average.

Great season Lawrenceburg and as far as the Patriots I'm guessing very few teams if any have played 3 straight top 10 teams in the playoffs this season   and won all 3...On top of that just like 2000 Heritage Hills will play 1st round of sectional, 2nd round of sectional, regional and semi state all on the road.

P.S. Hearing Welcome To The Jingle  playing and the huge HH following made it seem like home.i

Unfortunately, this is true! We beat them once when they were in our Sectional, but never in a Regional. They had our number for several years. Some very good teams!

We have never played Batesville in sectional our sectional losses when we were in 31 were against Indian Creek, Brownstown, Charlestown,  Corydon Central and Southridge.

    5-0 against Batesville

Looking at future Pat teams are they a little lean?

    7th Grade ****5-4

    8th Grade****3-6

    Freshman**** 5-3

    Junior Varsity 5-2

7th grade and freshman are solid teams, both played tough schedules  , 8th is hurting in numbers with only 13 kids.

7th has 4 losses but they were against 4A Jasper, 4A Evansville Harrison, 4A Boonville and   Undefeated Evansville Memorial  .

Freshman lost by 5 points to Evansville Mater Dei, 8 points to Gibson Southern and 16-0 against a Tecumseh JV team that had Freshman, Sophomores and Juniors.

It will be major rebuild next year but our Strength coach has the program to the level we should still have winning record but long playoff run is unlikely.

    Thanks for the Congrats

Milan was a very strong Team!

    1) Hey congratulations on your wins over: Tell City, (5-5), Pike Central (0-10), North Posey (4-6), South Spencer (1-9), Corydon Central (2-8) all big wins. Your wins over Brewer Nation, Hit Man Hart, and Hannerville are impressive. But come on man, you want to talk about schedules and all of that, neither one of us can pump our chest over that. Yes 12-0 means something, it means you have won 12 games! Congrats! However.......Can you name the 4 Ranked Teams?

    2) So now according to HHPatriots the Tigers are playing Bo Jackson & Eric Dickerson! Come'on man, you must be kidding with that post!

    3) T32, how are they more than one dimensional? Are they not a running team?

Not 4 different teams but 4 wins against ranked competition and it's not easy beating good teams twice.

Biggest thing about the HH rush attack it's hard to key on 1 or 2 players the Patriots have 4 different players that have rushed for over a 100 yards in a game Wetzel 6 times, Sigler 4 times,  Rodgers once and Vaal once.

One of those players was injured in round 2 of sectionals but when Wetzel missed most of the Jasper game Vaal picked it up rushing for a 100 plus yards, Same thing against Gibson 1st game. Wetzel missed most of game and Rodgers rushed for 100 plus.

We dont pass alot but Sigler has thrown the ball well when needed.

When the Phoenix rises and/or #25 is packing the rock, prepare to get run over.  Please try to tackle either--they love contact.  You better send more than 1 guy, you likely won't tackle them alone.  Last guy that tried to tackle head on laid on the field a while.

This is going to be a long week waiting on this one.

At least Friday Evening we get to watch Simon put on a show in the Slam Dunk contest again at the Blue White, And see if Blake or Murray came up with anything to try to top him. Just imagine if Simon was still playing football   ??

A few facts to consider regarding schedule and Sagarin ratings....

    1) Out-of-state games are not included. The Tigers had one against a relatively weak Taylor (OH) team. However, East Central had two - Harrison (OH) and Oak Hills (OH). East Central beat Harrison who is ranked 9th in OH Div II. Harrison is in the 2nd round of the Ohio playoffs. The Harrison win was a good win for the Trojans.

    2) Lawrenceburg won the East Central game against Harrison in almost every statistical area except the final score and turnovers.

L'burg moved the ball well most of the game, but had multiple drives fritter out deep in EC territory. East Central had a few big plays / blown coverages to get their 2 td's in the first half,  but Lawrenceburg could easily have been up 3 td's at halftime if things went just a little differently. The Tigers then came out in the 2nd half and turned it over on the first three possessions. EC took advantage and the rest is history.

Not taking anything away from EC, they made the plays to win the game, but it easily could have been a totally different outcome.

So, I am not sure what impacts a Tiger win over EC might have made on the Sagarin, but that game could easily have ended differently. Similarly, an EC win against a very good Harrison team might have moved the needle a bit, not to mention the impact on the Tigers of not having BIG YOON for the first 5-6 games of the year.

By all accounts and objective measures it appears that HH has a very good football team, but I think these Tigers will have some fight in them on Saturday night.

Not saying it wont be a fight because it should be a war  between two very good teams and Quarterbacks that can run and pass have always scared   me  but some of these post act like HH shouldn't even show up.

And Yes I know Sagarin doesn't include out of state games but funny thing Sagarin has East Central rated higher then HH and CalPreps which includes out of state games has HH higher, go figure.

Should be a good game Saturday and team that makes fewest mistakes will probably win..

You know I’ve been reading a lot of these LB post (especially STC) questioning “who” we play and then kind of talking down about our schedule. HH is 12-0 and played two teams three teams this season with below .500 records. Conversely the twelve teams that the Tigers have played , maybe 4 teams were above .500.  So to put it politely I kind of sick already of reading things how LB plays such a tough schedule with a defense that stuffs good running teams and an offense that destroys good teams!!!

Maybe instead of referring to a very good Heritage Hills team as Patsys or whatever you call them............Refer to your weak a$$ schedule as Patsys!!!

Ding, Ding, Ding there’s the bell boys....fight is on I’m here all week!!!!!

According to Sagarin  computer rating the HH schedule is ranked 143rd in the state and Lawrenceburgs schedule is ranked 184   and that's including East Central which has a overall rating of 38th in the state a few spots ahead of HH.

According to @DaveMosbey, the Patriots have 22 interceptions this season, with a few other missed opportunities.  IMO, that's a pretty decent secondary.  I'm sure GS or Southridge folk might be able to comment more about the strength of our secondary.  Keep in mind, in a couple of games vs those two teams there was a lot of prevent defense being played to keep the clock moving with big leads.  Is it Saturday yet?!?!

HH has forced 30 Turnovers 23 Interceptions and 7 fumbles and their opponents have forced 8 ( 1 interception and 7 fumbles )  Giving the Patriots a +22 turnover ratio.

  14. And our 6'4" 305 pound lineman deflected one of the 6'5" Gibson Southern quarterbacks passes in the first game and hauled it in for the interception. Patriots can pass if needed but when most teams stack 7 or 8  in the box against you and you still have 3441 rushing yards in 12 games no need to be pass happy.

Sigler has 8 of the Patriots 23 interception on defense.

The depth took a bit of a hit after a key injury against Gibson but Rodgers who previously split time with Wetzel at Fullback moved to Wing last Friday and had 103 yards rushing and 4 touchdowns.

Honestly though with teams from different regions and  no common opponents it's hard to predict because who really knows how they matchup untill they face off.

Going to be a long week.

  15. The Heritage Hills quarterback scores every way possible he has 9 rushing touchdowns,  8 passing touchdowns, 2 interception return touchdowns, 2 punt return touchdowns,  1 kick return touchdown.

One advantage for HH has to be take aways Patriots are a +22 and what I saw on MaxPreps through 11 games the Burg was -1 but that doesn't include the Greensburg game.

HH has intercepted 23 passes and only thrown 1 for a + 22 fumbles are even 7 for HH and 7 for our opponents.

According to MaxPreps through 11 games the burg has thrown 9 interceptions and and intercepted 8 and fumbles were even 6 - 6 for the -1 depending what they did Friday.

I never had a problem with the 2005 game. Went with @dawgieinthepound from Bloomington. Now that I'm of age, and have many friends in the Broad Ripple area, I would definitely do the trip differently. HH (or any team against Chatard from a Central timezone in SW Indiana) typically ends up played on Saturdays. However, the 2001 and 2003 games were at Arlington (also a fine facility) and the 2004 game at Franklin Central (all Fridays, if memory serves me correctly).

But yes Sgt. Cox does seem to have final say.

I'm pretty sure all of our Semi State games were on Saturday as was the 97 regional vs Chatard and all the regionals vs Batesville.

  17. I have mixed emotions about going to Lawrenceburg,  Always love playing new teams and seeing new stadiums but going to Lawrenceburg brings back bad memories from my childhood. My dad was a construction worker on a job and staying in Lburg when he was murdered by a fired co-worker and as a 10yo I spent two weeks there waiting for the end.

Anyway back to the game it looks like they have a really nice turf stadium and even read where they call it The Jungle.
