  9. Good point. I still think JC could be competitive in the EIAC. That makes sense. However, outside of Louisville, there are plenty of schools that do all 3. Hardin, Bullitt and Oldham County all have 3 schools that are 5a/6a. Plus, Shelby County has 2. Meade County is also 6a. All of those schools are within one hour of FC. Even if they branched out to Lexington, that is only about 90 minutes and there are several large schools there.
  10. Here goes nothing... thanks for the help. 12. So if I pick Salem (+42), I am saying I think they will lose by less than 42. Maybe even win?
  13. Okay, I'll admit it... I don't gamble. How do I play now?
  14. Boonville at Paoli Eastern Pekin at West Washington Edgewood at Mitchell Springs Valley at Eastern Greene Switzerland County at Crawford County Tell City at Perry Central Brownstown at Corydon North Harrison at Salem Scottsburg at Madison Silver Creek at Charlestown Bonus Pick of the Week: Castle at Evansville North

  16. Great coach, even better person. Rest in peace, coach.
  17. I think it has been difficult to schedule favorably. When they first got out, it was a crap shoot looking for available opponents and they ended up playing some outstanding teams out of Kentucky. They essentially traded Columbus East and Floyd for similar opponents. Last year they had Greenfield-Central scheduled, who for years had been not so great. Last year, they were a very good team. They also added Brownstown, who could compete with most in the HHC. They also play Providence, who won a sectional last year. This year, they've added Scottsburg, so that is a good matchup, but Scottsburg has made a lot of progress and will be a tough out. But I'm not sure they've really softened their schedule up a whole lot. Also, there is a new administration at Madison that did not hire him so you know how those things go. On another note, it appears as though JC coach TJ Newton left to take the job at Eastern Pekin. It is over on the PLAC/MSC thread.
  18. Steve Cooley took his team to semi-state just a couple of years ago. No other football team around here has managed that, except Seymour in the 90s. I'm not sure about your definitions of "getting it done," but that would qualify in most people's books.
  19. Thanks, Frozen, for keeping track of it all.
  20. #3/#2 Bloomington South (9-1) at Seymour (6-4)
  21. Paoli at North Posey Springs Valley at Providence Heritage Hills at Scottsburg Triton Central at Eastern Pekin Bonus Game of the Week: North Decatur at Milan

  23. Jeffersonville (0-9) at Columbus North (4-5) Seymour (5-4) at Columbus East (3-6) Evansville North (6-3) at 5A #8/#9 Floyd Central (8-1) 5A #10/NR Castle (6-3) at New Albany (2-7) Jennings County (5-5) at Greenwood (5-5) 4A #1 Evansville Reitz (10-0) at BNL (7-3)

  25. Edgewood (2-7) at Jennings County (4-5) BNL (6-3) at Evansville Harrison (1-8) Interesting history - the only sectional championship that JC has ever played in was 2000, finishing with a 6-6 record. Their head coach was Jerry Bland. Bland would go on to lead Edgewood from 2006-2016.
