  2. LOL that seals the deal I am fired (I'm not too sad about it either)
  3. @JQWL looks like we posted at the same time. You are welcome to track it all! 🙂
  4. Week 2 Pick 'em Bedford NL at Bloomington North Brown County at Jennings County Columbus North at Columbus East Dupont Manual (Ky.) at Floyd Central Gibson Southern at New Albany Seymour at Jeffersonville I'm going to wait until @Frozen Tundra picks this week 😆

  6. I hate to hear that. As someone in a school, I can say we are seeing more positives in students this year. That is very anecdotal, but it is what we are seeing thus far. When you add the contact tracing to it, it makes it tough on kids. Add in the staff illness and quarantine issues, it's even more challenging.
  7. I agree, the game does nothing for them, really. Next week will be a tough outing too, as Dupont Manual is the other major magnet school in Louisville and has a few D-1 guys. In the long run, it should prep them for the post season.
  8. Male 49, Floyd 0 FINAL It was 42-0 in the middle of the second quarter.
  9. It is on Saturday and I missed it when I copied it from Harrell's site. BNL @ Martinsville (Saturday)
  10. Pick 'em for this year! (I did not start a new thread out of respect for the goals of longevity.) Columbus East at Whiteland Floyd Central at Louisville Male Jennings County vs. Norwell New Albany at Bloomington South Seymour at South Dearborn
  11. Crawford Co. at Switzerland Co. Eastern Greene at Springs Valley Mitchell at Edgewood Paoli at Boonville Perry Central at Tell City West Washington at Eastern Pekin Charlestown at Silver Creek Clarksville at Scottsburg Corydon at Brownstown Salem at North Harrison
  12. Defense? All you gotta do is score more than the other team! 😁
  13. I don't know what South returns, but they are always a solid program. You also can't discount that nearly two hour road trip NA will have to go on. New Albany should have some expectations in front of them, but it doesn't mean a win is a guarantee. I'd expect a good game.
  14. Who does everyone in the HHC scrimmage this week? Does Floyd still scrimmage Charlestown? Brownstown vs JC? Good luck to all.
  15. LOL I was thinking about it when we started our pick 'ems for this year. That way it'll be easier to navigate the smack talk "competitive banter" between @Frozen Tundra and I. 😆
  16. Apparently they have too many in quarantine so they won't have enough practices in for players to be eligible to play. That is crazy, considering the size of Jeff High. They usually carry 75+ players 9-12 on their roster.
  17. I'll stop short of predicting the order of finish of either league, but I think Creek's losses will be too much for them to overcome to regain the MSC crown. I think it will be wide open, perhaps as much as it has been in years. But I still think it will be one of Charlestown, Brownstown or North Harrison. I do not know what Salem lost versus what they return, though. My understanding was that Corydon had quite a bit of losses in their senior class, but they do return some talented skill guys. I also do not know what Scottsburg returns. Did Salem ever pick up a week 5 game? I do think Paoli has to be the favorite in the PLAC but Perry may challenge. I think WW will be in good shape in the long run with Lowery, but since they lost a ton, it may take a year to get back to where they are used to being. But they have such a foundation, it would still not surprise me if they came in and won the league again.
  18. Lol.. I coached there for a while and I still keep up with things as best I can. We went to the state finals every year and you didnt go without hearing stories about Coach Hilton and his program. He actually retired from 2011-2015, but couldn't stay away and has been back since. They lost the state title in 2019 and played in the semifinals last year.
  19. Yeah that's fair, and I can't say what Bell is returning. Their coach is the Kentucky version of Bud Wright from Sheridan. They are old school and will be the most physical team Jeff will see all year.
  20. I would agree almost entirely, but I would put Jeffersonville ahead of Seymour because Bell County is a really tough program. I also think Mount Vernon is an underrated opponent, as the PAC folks seem to think of them as a dark horse kind of team. Jeff has to go to MV, which will be quite a haul. East always plays a tough schedule and I think that helps them in the post season. It's nice to see New Albany and Floyd schedule tough. Like Male, Dupont Manual is a magnet school in Louisville, which means students have to apply to get in, so both school almost have this private school kind of vibe going for them, which seems to benefit them in athletics. Manual has won at least 9 games in 3 of the past 6 seasons, so they are always solid. I love the NA/GS matchup. I think it could go either way.
  21. Coach, Louisville Waggener needs a week 1 game this year (8/20/21). They said they are willing to travel. The coach can be reached at tye.lawson2@jefferson.kyschools.us. They are a 3a/4a school in recent cycles of classification. https://scoreboard.12dt.com/scoreboard/khsaa/kyfb20/?id=83766
  22. Was Covenant Christian foolish? They started in 2014. Went 2-5 in 2015. They went 15-0 and won the 1a state title just 5 years later. I don't expect you to agree and I understand the risk of failure exists, but if they have the desire and the funds to give it a shot, there is no reason they shouldn't.
  23. Perhaps they see it as an chance to provide more opportunities for their students and potentially increase enrollment as a result. The more schools that can offer football, the better. I hope it works out for them.
  24. Teaching/coaching contracts aren't typically signed until the beginning of the school year, so it is unlikely anything other than board approval had taken place. I would doubt he will owe anything to Niles as a result.
  25. Boone County is a large school, a 5A by Kentucky standards. Their enrollment is around 1800 or so. They have struggled mightily over the last decade or so. They used to be a power in the 90s. Alabama RB Shaun Alexander went to school there.
