Hale really needs to make an effort to get the team together. If we take the layups, beat the boards, hit the threes, and I think we can but it takes a TEAM effort. Im not seeing that yet.

Tell ya what not much talk now but those Linton Girls are one heckuva team. Funny I see Frankton #4 in 2A. We could very well have a repeat game a few months away! Congrats to both schools. Come on Miner Fans lets hear about our girls! BTW Linton Boys won a double header against 2 very good teams Saturday. Lets not forget them either! GO Miners!

What did it take like 90 years to win the first one? I don't think it will take that long today. Miners will get over this and get much better. You can bet that Coach Oliver knows where that better needs to be. Hey gotta remember Linton is a small school in a small town. MD is a small school in the City of Evansville. Things can change quickly there not so much Linton. I think it's very funny (Me included at times) we won our first Championship a mere 4 years ago. Now we demand it. LOL   Ollie and the gang always put out great kids. I think it started with Steve. But regardless. We need to support our Basketball teams as well. Theres a real chance that the girls repeat and the boys win as well! I hope the folk in Linton understand that. Its a GREAT DAY to be a MINER as Charlie says

OK   its over now. The Boys had a Great Season! Lotta Progress. Now can some Linton local start a BB thread. I think we might see History here with the Boys and Girls BB Teams. Certainly the girls! GO MINERS!

Now Im a Miner fan so beware. WOW what a game! Two GREAT Southern IN football teams goin at it? 20-19? What a game no losers there. Congrats to both teams for keeping 1A football STRONG in the South. It's the Senators flag to move forward now. Best of Luck!

It's just a shame very few can be there. This has the makings of Sea Biscuit vs War Admiral. It really does.

Southridge has Great multiple sport venues as well. Well really just Good Ol Southern IN folk as well

I think the Miners will make more noise in the tournament next year.  With only 5 seniors on the roster this year, they will be another year older and experienced next season.  The team is mostly sophomores and juniors this year.  The running game is really starting to click.  They have 4 solid ball carriers.  Any of them can get 100+ on any given night.  Most of the games have seen 4 ball carriers get between 60 - 80 yards.  So there is no one guy they have to depend on.  Makes it tougher on defenses.  Now that the tough part of the schedule is over (first 5 weeks) the Miners should be favored and win the last 4 games.  I think we'll probably see a couple of games where a couple of backs get 100+.  It's already happened once (if I remember right).  The easier games should also give the Miners a chance to work on the passing game too.

Whats to write about? Big Dan is the guy for Miner Football ( Well and Rex Tuttle our Historian). I expect writings will increase when we figure out who this Miner Team is

I won't predict a score  Linton should win though. Look at the Teams our Miners have played. 3-2 actually very impressive after the Blowout week 1. Boonville was a game of the last 5 years. ND is really doing well is that SOS probably I think. Just like Linton was for years. I do think that ND has the potential to highly rise in 1A just like Linton did thru success not so much enrollment. With the schedule my Miners  have already played I want to see something. I wanna see domination. Dont confuse that with a blowout. They are not the same. If we dominate in all areas the score doesn't matter we Win. I highly regard the Cougars. ND doesn't really have to do well or not in this game. Wont see Linton again this year. Linton has to dominate to be a real threat in 2A. If we keep improving but dominating in the latter half of our season I can possibly see another nugget round Turkey Time! Just a thought

This game was 19 - 0 at halftime.  The Miner defense made stops in the red zone, twice.  North Vermillion started turning over the ball in the second half giving the Miners short fields which they took advantage of.  The Miners had 430+ yards of total offense.  Edney is a good running back for the Falcons.  He had some nice runs.  The Falcons scored towards the end of the game against the JV.   On to Boonville.

I usually pull for our long time rivals who are still in it, then whoever is still out of our sectional, then of course a team from the south. (with the exception of Sullivan of course lol) 

Then again I'm probably a little bit biased here. I graduated from Linton while my brother graduated from North Knox. Hope it's a great game though!

As a Miner fan I wasn't surprised myself. And thats OK. We just moved to 2A a couple of years ago. Gotta play bigger teams   better players. Im PROUD of my Miners! Even though we got blown out and we did  its a learning experience as well. Two top teams in the State going at in a Semifinal; game somebody is gonna lose. EMD was the better team no doubt. Im sure this experience will resonate next year! Go EMD and take the South! Go Miners!
