This really needs to go to a ballot. I think the $4B pricetag itself also includes some massive infrastructure changes around the stadium. Possibly diverting Lake Shore Drive underground near the stadium was one of the more drastic changes I've heard.
I lived and worked in Chicago for over 20 years and hate this idea. But sadly, I don't think it will go to a ballot as Johnson, Pritzker, and the McCaskeys will make sure it happens. The Bears need to focus on pitting a good team on the field first.

It just seems too highly sensationalized for a regional paper...

I never read the Indianapolis Star; this is a reason why.

I actually heard that, upon the announcement that Faith Christian was going to go to 11-man this season, some 20-25 players from the LCC football team became Baptists and will be attending Faith in the fall.
Lord, I apologize for that there.
Epic.

If you saw the behavior of their fans and their coaches you’d understand why. This goes back to their time in the GSSC.
I'm not one to start fights, but coaches have a duty to be an ambassador for their team. They need to keep a level and win with class or lose with grace. Fans also should heed this.

Lowell vs. West Lafayette is Week 3 per Harrell. Am I sensing some South Lake County anamosity towards the upstart Hanover Central?
Not really. I live as lose to CL as I do Lowell. I just think HC is about to get a much tougher game against Chatard than most NWC teams .

If the portal to Hell opens with the two Red Devil teams meeting what happens when a Blue Devil and Red Devil team meets? (asking for a friend)
Kentland (or A. J. Kent) High School consolidated into South Newton in the 1960s. They were the Blue Devils and played Lowell frequently.

really?
1 hour ago, Boilernation said:That's awesome. I see Andrean still has Chatard on their schedule and Hanover Central also picked up Chatard.
HC's about to get a big reality check...

I love it when schools break out of their traditional scheduling “rut.”
Me, too! Instead of LaPorte, Kilmer and the boys will be heading down I-65 to take on a real good team. This game will be close.

That game needs to be protested by the Catholic Church or something. A portal to Hell may open on the 50 yard line when two teams of Red Devils take the field.
always that risk...

Lowell will travel to West Lafayette on September 6!!! Should be a great game and one I've been hoping for.

An awful lot of great memories on that field — which was always rock hard by November.
I still don't get why they're doing it.

As referenced earlier, as I know how important it is, Lowell is also putting down turf. Actually, new bleachers and everything. There is nothing back there now, well, other than trucks (how Lowell is that?) and the high school will not be holding graduation on the field later thing Spring because there is no field. I guess it's a good thing, why risk the Valedictorian tearing his (or her) ACL?

Great Question! Thought I do think some of the areas of St. John that are rapidally growing on the south end are in the Hanover Central district. Another question would be are they losing good talent to the following schools:
- Andrean
- Chicago Mt. Carmel
You're not wrong there about Hanover!

Oh boy, I've been there probably over 100 times, have a few customers there. It's not as bad as other places I seen in IN, but I'll say it is not the nicest either.
I was being facetious and go through the Haute often.

This is hardly an isolated incident. One of my favorite coaches (not in football) got into big trouble following a very similar incident.

Then maybe you should clear the air for us.

Meh, I spent my college years there. It wasn't that bad. Better than someplace like Muncie. And IMHO the area, at least around the ISU campus, has been cleaned up considerably over the past 10-20 years.
noted.

As the father of a 17-year old girl, I can say that is something that should NEVER be done, regardless of the context.
