Too young so I missed the Rod Woodson era in Fort Wayne. Would have loved to see him play. Assume he was a 2-way player, no? I know he was also a nationally hurdler in track and field.
NEVER knew Clayton was a Hoosier, wow.
Yep, McCutcheon HS

Because then they’d be leaving “THE GREATEST CONFERENCE in the WORLD.”
Seriously folks, I know this is a football forum and football is the main revenue draw for an athletic department but this issue is much more complicated as there are 19 other sports to think about for an athletic department.
I do agree with the original premise though.
Carmel should go independent, Penn should go independent, South Newton should be contracted, and the Sectional assignments suck. What’s next? Will the players be riding the field on angry llamas?

Clayton Richard would be up there.

I may have omitted a few decent conferences: NW Crossroads, NLC, Northeast 8, Pocket, Western Indiana. Do what you gotta do...

Wow! Conference consolidation coupled with Chicago traffic patterns and sports book style betting......and to think This whole thread started with selling hot dogs! 🌭🌭🌭 😁
I do enjoy the banter tho!
I have a lot of time in the train, thereby avoiding Chicago traffic...

North Central, bigger Hoosier, Hoosier Heartland & CIC schools—Centre Conference (note how I spelled Centre, pretty cool, huh?)
Conference Indiana, Hoosier Hills, and SIAC: Forest People League
Everybody else should be contracted and wiped off the face of the Earth...
Or just put them in the Cursed Earth League...

I'm hijacking this thread for a way out in left field question
Would be NIC be a better conference without the South Bend public school? Must think of them as a unit, no individual schools
Interesting. What do they offer toward competitive balance?

I don’t know if they made improvements over the years, but I used to have to sit through the madness of The Hillside Strangler back in the early 2000’s when I lived in Downers Grove and wanted to take the Eisenhower into the city at night. That’s where 290, 88, and 294 traffic merges to form the eastbound Eisenhower in Hillside. Now that’s traffic! I once got stuck in standstill traffic at the 94 and Congress interchange in The Loop at 10 PM on a Sunday night. Friday night on 465 is a racetrack minus some congestion on eastbound 465 between Keystone and Allisonville.
.
Honestly, for us Hamilton County folk, getting out to Avon is probably more time consuming than taking 465 around to the south side for CG, which is pretty easy to get to from 37 or Meridian via East Street/Thompson Road. Avon is about 100 stop lights on Rockville until you get to Dan Jones Road.
The Ike sucks and will always suck, I avoid it at all costs. Congress Parkway is now known as Ida B. Wells and I have no idea why. It makes no sense as my office is a block east of Wells Street not Ida B. Wells Drive...
...oh yeah, it’s still the Sears Tower.
But traffic has eased a bit. I can get home from the Loop in a little over an hour in rush hour.

This isn’t Chicago, LA, Atlanta, etc. I could get to CG from Noblesville within an hour on a Friday night. That’s a piece of cake for such a long distance.
Exactly. I-465 is a country road compared to the Bishop Ford, Dan Ryan, Edens, Eisenhower, and Kennedy Expressways not to mention the various toll roads in Chicagoland.

But the OMG athletes cant be forced to play Football . You have to want to play .
Football is far from the only “thing”. Maybe these Uber-athletes prefer another fall sport, or maybe they want to not risk injury for a winter sport like basketball (pretty big here).

A state full of soccer players? The folks on the basketball board won't be happy, but I digress...

Are the 49ers legit?

Let's see....a 4 point win at home against a rebuilding team...nope.
-
I know SN's record. Although disappointing, I don't believe it means black SUVs full of IHSAA officials are going to raid the athletic department ad confiscate all of the football equipment, carve a giant X in the middle of the field, blow up the scoreboard, and let out Lucky, the team mascot (goat if you will). This crap was funny, but now it has turned personal.

Maybe. I would like to think we should be 5-0 but the loss to the eagles was probably deserving. You can’t average 3 takeaways and 4 sacks a game and then get 0 against a bad eagles OL but it’s whatever.
im still happy with the packers. The thing that still gets me is that fumble recovery that was nullified by a false start. The play was full go and the whistles were late after the clear recovery. But the cowboys false start actually saved them from turning the ball over. Never seen that one before.
most of the other calls were correct. The hands to the face was the right call even though it nullified an INT. The roughing the passer one is a head scratcher but I think it’s close enough within the rules
i hope the packers get home field advantage. I would love to go to a playoff game.
Maybe we did deserve to lose to the Eagles, I’ll happily take 4-1. Home field should be the goal.

Just looked at the remaining schedule: we should finish at least 12-4. Home field throughout the playoffs? Either us or New Orleans.

Thoroughly impressed by the packers tonight
even after the refs tried giving the game to the cowboys they found a way to keep them at bay.
roughing the passer on a dak run play and seconds before he was even tackled was comical. The false start on the center when they hiked it into Cobb who was in motion and lost the fumble.
probably two of the worst calls I have seen. Which is on par for a cowboys packers game lol
A lot of calls have been going against the Packers, we should be 5-0.
