I can’t get beyond East Noble just shellacking Luers 51-7 and Snider thumping East Noble a week later.

I know the feeling, I can't get beyond Carroll shellacking Homestead but then Homestead beat Snider. It's been a wacky season in the SAC.

Look, you can only beat who is on your schedule, but to not play the best 2 teams in the conference is silly. Even if they beat Sparty, nobody should consider them the SAC champion. Luers may go on and win a state title this year, and I hope they do, but they aren’t even close to being the best team in the SAC

Do away with divisions or you are going to have Luers playing North, Wayne, South and Concordia every year that lessen  the options. By the way 2a Luers will or should play Snider and Carroll, East Noble, New Haven, Dwenger, North and Wayne next Year

Dwenger 42 - Concordia 0 - Saints get ready for the playoffs with an easy win over the hapless Cadets

Homestead 42 - Luers 21 - Luers get an outright conference title with a win, not going to happen. Let’s be honest, had they played Carroll or Snider, they wouldn’t be undefeated or even in consideration for a title. Truthfully, they would lose to both by 28+ points

Carroll 56 - North Side 27 - Chargers can name the score against North though the Legends will score some points

South Side 27 - Northrop 14 - Archers get a much needed win while the Bruins slip further into the abyss

Snider 42 - Wayne 14 - Panthers too much for the Generals

I said when this format was announced that someone was always going to have the easiest schedule. As a Luers fan I was fine with playing Carroll and Snider every year, but as Billy Joel once said "We didn't start."

I'm neither here nor there on the term. But here goes:

Snider and Carroll are a lot better than they were two years ago. Bishop Luers not so much. Seeing what transpired in Weeks 1 & 2, I can only imagine how a showdown with Luers vs Snider or Carroll would go.

At the end of the day, it's not the Knights fault the new system was made the way it was. Bottom line: If you want to call yourself SAC champs, you better run the table with no "off" weeks.

    Wayne did ok at Carroll.

Talked to a former Luers guy the other day. He said it is not Luers fault they got an easy road to the title. He is right.

    But it still needs tweaked.

Yes let's tweak it so the smallest school in the conference can't win or share the conference crown.

The big schools wanted this system, Luers shared the title two years ago playing both Snider and Carroll.

Long time lurker here and apologize if it's been previously discussed.......

From my understanding the SAC champ is the team with the best conference regardless of which division they play in, so what's the point of having the two separate divisions?

Under this format some team is going to have the easiest schedule. Take conference leader (so far) Luers don't play Snider or Carroll. Luers does have Dwenger and Homestead coming up so this may be a moot point but someone some day will win the conference with the easiest schedule.

Who is going to beat them the rest of this year in the SAC? Nobody, which would put the streak at 24 heading into next year. Most likely, they will be favored in every game in the SAC next year as well and to be sure they will be even better next year than they are this year as they will have a senior QB who is a 3 year starter who is also being recruited at a D1 level, hence my statement

I vaguely remember in the early 70's Luers won around 30 in a row. Does anyone know what the longest streak is? By the way Luers is the last team to beat Carroll.😉

Why the drop in enrollment over the past few years? Are Dwenger families saving money and sending their kids to Carroll? Carroll has good academics and athletics, one of the better public schools in the state.

Luers has it's biggest freshman classes in years, most parents said athletics were a big factor in their decision. They now have a waiting list to get in.
