https://outsidethehuddle.net/list-of-future-sac-non-conference-opponents/
I have put together a page on Outside the Huddle that has the confirmed non-conference matchups for SAC schools. I will update as I receive new info or see social media posts from official team/school accounts.
I thought Luers picked up a game against East Noble.

I think "blue blood" is more about sustained excellence than number of championships.
The top of the list is Cathedral who has won championships in the 80s, 90s, 00s, 10s, and 20s
I may have missed someone who tied that mark
Luers has all of them except 20s. So far.

73 was the first year for the classes/playoff. I think Scecina had a similar enrollment number back then.
You are right I was going by graduation year instead of football season.

Why was Lures and Scecinas put in 3A?
I played for Luers in 1973 and 1974. 73 was the last year for one class, that year Luers ended up #2, #3 and #4 in the 3 polls that they had back then. Luers had around 800 students at the time. There was no way the IHSAA was going let Luers play in 1a.

That was actually the 3rd year of the post season. Mishawaka Marian was the 1st 1A champ.
That year 1a sized Luers was forced to play in 3a, the largest class at the time.

And if I can remember.
This was the year that Kevin Keirmaier saved them in the Baseball Sectional Final (with 2 outs). And got himself a scholarship to Parkland JC. The rest as they say.....IS HISTORY!
Didn't his father used to frequent this board?

You're taking the list too literal. I think he just threw that list out there as a starting point. No one's forgotten about Luers and their 11 state titles.
I was trying to be facetious.

Nothing against East Noble but it's a step down from Homestead, Carroll and Snider.

Snider, Carroll, and Homestead, will all vie for the opportunity to get a crack at Luers. I imagine some years they'll play two of those schools and and some years one.
Who would help Luers? The beauty for Luers is that they are a 2a school. Any strong 3a program and above will be more than anything they'll face in the 2a tournament. I think there are plenty high level 3a programs that would be willing to schedule them. I can't think of one 4a program who would turn them down. Even a few 5a programs would take a crack at them.
We found out how Hartley and Whitmer measure up to SAC schools. I bet they would rumble with Luers again. Coldwater is just across the board and is probably the best small program in the state of Ohio..........I would head out to Luers to see that one. Might even drive to Coldwater. Leo, East Noble, LCC, and Chatard just to name a few. Opportunities abound for the Knights.
Which one of the schools you named would be a tougher game for Luers than Carroll or Homestead or Snider?
-
If Luers doesn't play Carroll or Homestead the first year who can they play that will help them as much as these two schools do? And be willing to play a 2a school.
-
Fort Wayne North Side.
-
Fall 2022.
-
Should help East Noble more than it will Snider.

Didnt somebody in this thread say that Luers would not accept a spot in the small school division?
This format was voted in unanimously.

Warren and Snider had a nice little series there for a few years.
2004 Warren 35, Snider 23
1991 Snider 23, Warren 7
1990 Warren 21, Snider 10
Which city was each game played?

I think the main obstacle would be getting games with either of those schools in week 1 or week 2 (the problem with any of the opponents I included as “wish list”. When Luers played Hartley it was in week 8, and the one year they played Whitmer it was in week 4. They replaced Whitmer with Leo for the next two years before the SAC went back to 10 teams.
I'm Not saying they should play those two teams I'm saying think outside the box. Team from around the area could include New Haven, Leo, Norwell, East Noble.

Who would you want to see them play?
The last time the SAC had out of conference games Luers played Toledo Whitmer and Columbus Bishop Hartley.

The biggest challenge will be finding their desired opponents in week 1 or week 2 only. If they had the option of playing out of conference during other weeks, more options could be considered. Here are a few ideas. “Wish List” opponents are those that probably couldn’t be worked out based upon current schedules and games the opponent would not want to drop to pick up an SAC school.
Homestead - Wish list: Elkhart. Realistic: Week 1 Carmel, Week 2 Valparaiso.
Carroll - Wish List: Elkhart. Realistic: Week 1 Chesterton, Week 2 Harrison (WL).
Snider - Wish list: Merrillville. Realistic: Week 1 Lafayette Jeff, Week 2 Penn.
Dwenger - Wish list: Cathedral, Roncalli, Brebeuf. Realistic: Week 1 South Bend St. Joseph, Week 2 Chatard (after they drop Arsenal Tech, see South Side below).
Luers - Wish List: Andrean, Mishawaka Marian. Realistic: Week 1 Indianapolis Scecina, Week 2 Leo.
Northrop - Wish List: South Bend Washington/Clay/Riley. Realistic: Week 1 Anderson, Week 2 South Bend Adams
Concordia - Wish List: Indianapolis Lutheran. Realistic: Week 1 Culver Academies, Week 2 Norwell
North Side - Wish list: South Bend Washington/Clay/Riley. Realistic: Week 1 Huntington North, Week 2 Hammond Central
South Side - Wish list: South Bend Washington/Clay/Riley. Realistic: Week 1 Marion, Week 2 Arsenal Tech (renewed series).
Wayne - Wish list: South Bend Washington/Clay/Riley. Realistic: Week 1 New Haven, Week 2 Indianapolis Attucks
Why play teams you might meet in the playoffs. Being a Luers fan I would like them to play teams they haven't played before.

Dwenger did it without public money.
Dwenger is much bigger and much richer than Luers.

Parking, concessions, restrooms, seating and field are some of the issues. Home side is packed and we usually sit on the visitor side, at all sites, to avoid kids. Can't say I like anything about their facility. I usually try to catch Luers on the road (at Carroll or Homestead) simply due to those being better facilities.
Maybe Luers should steal people's tax money and build a new stadium, oh wait we are not a government school.

What I heard they are going to have Big school division Carroll, Homestead, Dwenger, Northrop and Snider. Small division Luers Concordia, South Side, North Side, and Wayne. More to come later.

I might be mistaken but wasn't Ben Davis #1 in the early 2000's
SAC going to 2 divisions
