  1. when the contract was 1st signed with Northridge I was told it was for 4 years but changes could take place. SJ has played Lakeand many times in the past.
  2. From a gate stand point Penn-Mishawaka is much attractive then Penn - Laporte. Does the fact Laporte coach played for Penn enter into the equation?
  3. Is that after the current 4 year contract is done?
  4. If there are 6 teams in a division and all conference games are weeks 5-9 it would make sense to play some crossover non-conference games to fill the schedule Anyone from Jimtown hear what could happen to Jimtown and Concord? The issue is when they try and keep some games after week 3 and can cause havoc with fining teams to play - right now Culver Academy and Benton Harbor could be choices for some schools
  5. another aspect is how the is the schedule going to play out? 1st 4 non conference then 5 conference? or will there be a week where a team will have a conference by
  6. Last year St Joe did not have a freshman team and Marian does not have one this year. Like everywhere enrollment numbers are down. And I am sure the concussion thing has many parents thinking twice as I have heard that from Dad's who played football. On the same hand the numbers are there but is it developing what you have and making it all come together.
  7. YOu and many SJ alumni wonder the same. The ICCL is not what it used to be.
  8. Friday, Sep. 27 Bremen at Marian ©, 7 pm Jimtown at Concord, 7 pm Mishawaka at Central ©, 7 pm New Prairie at Adams ©, 7:30 pm Penn at St. Joseph ©, 7 pm Riley at Clay ©, 7 pm Washington at Glenn ©, 7 pm ©conference game Highlight game has to be Mishawaka at Central - both competing to win the North NP - Adams some could say a trap game for NP - don't think the Adams D will stop the NP running game. SJ - Penn not the excitement in year past. Not sure when SJ started a season 05. Marian in contorl of the South
  9. But let's look and say they win sectional, regional maybe Lowell or Hammond Morton, (just a guess) then East Noble, Marion ( another guess) know little about the named teams but not sure many can stop them maybbe slow them down or field and weather enter into it.
  10. I do not disagree at all. Adams is the best high school in town based on what people say. They have some good and athletic kids. It will take the right coach, system, and the kids buying into to make it happen. They have an outsanding principal and a pretty good AD right now. It is getting the right person to mesh with the student body. Yet you could say that about many schools. Look at what the right coach did at Michigan City.
  11. His sons are getting older so who knows if he wants to take time away from them. Some people think that would be the only job he would apply for if he wanted to get back into it but who really knows.
  12. Tull was not there when Downey was the coach at St Joe but Ben is a teacher there so Tull could have had inter workings with him The thing is they are playing bigger school but 4A does not look as tough as the teams they will play.
  13. Did Brownlee play last week? The stats in the paper looked like another running back had a big game
  14. How many people attended this game? A part of high school football is to pack the place and if you have to stand you stand.
  15. I was curious as to what people think - Is this New Prairie team as good or better then the one that made it to Lucas Oil?
  16. Hard to believe in 5 weeks half the teams in the state will be done with football. Friday, Sep. 20 Central at St. Joseph ©, 7 pm Glenn at Knox, 7:30 pm Marian at Jimtown ©, 7 pm New Prairie at Mishawaka ©, 7:30 pm Adams at Penn ©, 7 pm Clay at Bremen ©, 7 pm Riley at Washington ©, 7 pm ©conference game
  17. Few thoughts on past weekend. Marian has athletes - they could run far with this team if they stay healthy and play well NP line is huge - Some athletes in the backfield as well - have not looked at 4A north but they too could go down state. Nice to see them throwing the ball as well opens up the run. They can score. The 6'7 soph is going to be a beast in 2 years if he works at it. Nice to see SJ offense doing things against NP. They did it without John Driscoll and had several longer pass plays. I would say that may be the weakness of NP after seeing them in one game See the SB paper did not have the Penn game stats again this weekend just like last weekend. They played 2 major powers from out of state. Much different then playing St Mary's and Br. Rice. Mishawaka seems to be reloading.
  18. I hope the predicted lighting with the rain is out of here before kickoff Friday night. Those delays are awful to endurea
  19. Class 6A (32 Schools) Sectional 1. (4): Crown Point, Lake Central, Merrillville, Lafayette Jefferson Sectional 2. (4): Chesterton, Penn, Portage, Warsaw Penn's Sectional adn Regional - not sure any of these teams measure up with their competition right now
  20. and he went to Marian to play QB and got beat out this year by a more athletic QB and did he not go to Marian because of the Lynch kid when he played FB
  21. Boy, you hit the nail on the head. Yes, well all we seem to know is the deep fade. If I can see it on the sidelines why cannot the people upstairs see it. I just think this year is not going anywhere and what happens then no one knows.
  22. Not totally sure of the comments. I think last year's team was an under achiever. Too many players going both ways hurts with the schedule we play which he current staff seems to like. This year seems a lack of discipline, leadership, and respect seems to be another issue. Lot of new faces on the coaching staff. There are many things but in 4 years the record is now glowing.
  23. I was told would not be back to sectionals It is just they have lost 2 of 1st 3 and face a major power this week - many are used to them rolling over teams
  24. I could not agree more. You play 2 QB's the 1st 2 games, then one is out and you go with the other who is the one who fumbles 3 times and throws a pick 6 you are in deep duh duh. SJ OL was awful plain and simple and I am not sure what the defense what expecting but they were out of position so many times in the 1st half it was like what did you prepare for? Plus it was interesting standing on the field as they came out for warm-ups. You would nt have guessed it was the Marian game. I cannot say I was shocked but the margin kind of surprised me but when you look at the performance it could have been a lot worse. This season you have to let it play out and move from there.
  25. I recall a couple of times going there on 30 from I 65 and the traffic is ridiculous With school corp strapped for money with caps they would have to find money to subsidize the operation If the time change was not there then that might make it more attractive
