  1. I do not see it happening due to travel, time difference and you have to consider the other sports A school bus ride to Crown Pt on a weekday is no short jaunt for the other teams Maybe the have over scheduled but if you cannot find anyone to play you have to get what you can. Most Indiana teams do not have open weeks after week 2-3. And playing any of the other SB schools is a waste of time for them Maybe they just are not what they used to be at least currently
  2. see what happens next year when they move over to the big school division in the NIC
  3. Did not see anything in the SB paper about the Penn game last week - no stats, breakdown sort of funny
  4. that is a distinct possibility and if both QBs are out impossible to not achieve
  5. Friday, Sep. 13 Benton Harbor (Mich.) at Central, 7 pm Bremen at Triton, 7 pm Cincinnati St. Xavier (Ohio) at Penn, 7 pm Glenn at Jimtown ©, 7 pm Marian at Riley ©, 7 pm Adams at Mishawaka ©, 7 pm Clay at Washington ©, 7:30 pm St. Joseph at New Prairie ©, 7:30 pm
  6. The gate from CMA fans is not that much different from some SB schools when you play them if they are having a tough season. Arguing that point to me is a moot one because winning draws. On the reverse Freed Field is not packed with Penn fans weekly like it was 20 years ago either Any one know of anything in today's paper there is a comment about the Riley - Adams game and at the end it says the students involved in the incident last week will not allowed at the game. Any one know anything? There was an article about a post saying that only Adams-Riley students could attend the game tonight which was incorrect but guess raised some eyebrows.
  7. I am not sure why CMA was never invited to the NIC to even the numbers
  8. It would seem for Penn to be Independent in Football would be a night mare for them in scheduling, travel, and revenue. How many schools in Indiana would have an open date after week 2 -3 and want to schedule them Could you see them scheduling: Valpo, Elkhart, Mishawaka, Cincy St. X, Moeller, Cleve St. Ed, St Ignatius, + 2 more would be brutal and the distance - not sure there is a solution there. What would happen if all of the schools less 3-4 SB schools, Elkhart, Penn formed a new conference and added Culver?
  9. I think you are right in some way but many of the Penn faithful on here have gone. Other schools as well. Plus I think to me it seems like interest is waning. I sometimes think the SB schools pull things down. They need to close a high school. Mishawaka leaving is a great move for them. Not sure what the new "Elkhart" will bring to the table.
  10. Seems like many NIC fans are no longer following this forum
  11. Friday, Sep. 6 Andrean at New Prairie, 8 pm West Side at Mishawaka, 7:30 pm Hammond at Clay, 7 pm Homewood-Flossmoor (Ill.) at Penn, 7:30 pm Jimtown at Central, 7 pm Glenn at Bremen ©, 7 pm Riley at Adams, 7 pm St. Joseph at Marian, 7 pm Washington at Kankakee Valley, 7 pm Some interesting match-ups. Andrean/New Prairie, Penn/Homewood-Flossmoor, Jimtown/Central, and of course the Holy War St Joe/Marian
  12. Awesome - would like some BD fans to give their thoughts
  13. I was curious as to when Dwenger will play their 1st game on campus?
  14. Not sure where many of the fans have gone. Heading to Middlebury for this evening's game. Week 2 always seems to show who made improvement and changes
  15. the same person who play D last year that just cannot be quiet and does not always stop when the whistle blows - no discipline not sure how many flags he got last year
  16. Totally agree with you and the one individual I would sit until he stops the antics and shuts the mouth but that will not happen Not sure how tough the Ill. school will be. St X another story if they are up to their usual standard
  17. What is your take on Penn getting beat up by Valpo? Surprised? NP should send their starters home by half f not sooner since I see no way Clay D can stop their QB - you don't want to lose key people in a mis-match Central looks like they could have something this year - but the tough part is coming up Hard to gauge teams on one week based on what people are saying, newspaper, media - see what transpires this week - ex. I thought SJ would run the ball more with Driscoll and they threw something like 35 times Can someone tell me why so many high school teams throw the fade when crossing and the post are almost always open?
  18. Friday, Aug. 30 Bremen at Riley ©, 7 pm Central at Goshen, 7:30 pm Jimtown at Washington ©, 7 pm LaPorte at Penn, 7:30 pm Mishawaka at East Noble, 7 pm Marian at Glenn ©, 7 pm Adams at GlenOak (Ohio), 7:30 pm Clay at New Prairie, 7:30 pm St. Joseph at Northridge, 7 pm
