  1. It is great to have your own field to call home - Know that feeling very well
  2. Why not Rice Field in Elkhart More stands on visitors side
  3. Does anyone know what the league will be doing once Mishawka leaves as far as conference scheduling. Each division plays eaach other? Any crossover or are all other games non-conference?
  4. Opening night will be special there. A memorable one.
  5. SB Riley does not have Jackson Field is grass SB Adams and Washington share same field

  8. https://www.southbendtribune.com/news/education/eliminating-athletic-directors-just-the-start-of-changes-in-south/article_808e2d7d-93d9-58bd-9490-0c8072130da7.html this is becoming a joke. You should see the jobs for the new positions Executive Directors of .............. They are already posted on the SBCSC sight but nothing on the Deans of Students and Athletics
  9. Interesting article from "experts" about this today in the paper. If you are a SB parents then you need to watch future school board elections
  10. So if chaos breaks out in the SBCSC high schools does any see the NIC kicking the 4 or 3 SB schools out of the conference. From a gate stand point they add little other then closeness when scheduling games. This is going to be very interesting especially when the fall sports season starts
  11. Until you know what their jobs are not sure how you can do both. Deans are in the office dealing with students, academics, issues all day long They better have good and competent secretaries For larger schools this make no sense at all - the kids will suffer Hell, St Joe and Marian both have Assistant AD's and SB schools did not
  12. The new superintendent hiring was sketchy and this is just another issue for the SB schools How much will you actually be savings? How do you handle daily student issues and athletics? Seems like a big issue to me and makes no sense
  13. SO what happens to Memorial athletics with Mishawaka joining the NLC in 20-21 I believe?
  14. Who really knows? They have under 1000 students now - I could see them closing it as a traditional high school and maybe specialize Washington has under 800 Plus the School Board is considering a $10M funding referendum since they did not do much in the past 10 years to cut costs. Now you have a board member who made a spectacle of confronting a state education member and got rid of a basketball coach. I would say all is well in the SBCSC
  15. Back when Mc Collough was there he wanted their own field on campus. With the finances looming with tax cuts and the fact SB probably needs to combine high schools and close under utilized buildings who knows where anything will go moving forward.
  16. Does anyone know with the NIC going to have an even amount of teams in each division if they are going to a 4-5 schedule? 1st 4 weeks non-conference Last 5 weeks conference division games Just curious as this could be interesting finding games in 2020. It could mean more cross over divisional games.
  17. Hubbard went through the whole 2020 football schedule on the radio but I do not recall the order but it seemed he said the last game would be Northridge
  18. Last night on Sports Beat they had an interview with the Mishawaka AD Penn is off the football schedule in 2020 - Mishawaka will open with Marian and then play East Noble followed by 7 conference games Marian is the opening game for now - he did not mention how many years. When they joined the NLC they had week 1-2 open to play Penn - Penn and MHS have been talking. Penn wants to keep opening with Valpo In 2020 Penn has a contract with Laporte MHS is open to play Penn in week 2 and Dean said he would sign a 10 year contract to make it happen. He is hoping that in 2021 they might play again in football but Penn has to have the same feeling Talks have been ongoing In certain other sports they will continue to play Penn if it can be worked in
  19. With 2 high schools under 925 in SB and the fact they are facing a $10M deficit in 2020 SB is going to have start thinking of closing or consolidating some buildings Maybe they could start by closing the corporation headquarters downtown and selling it and move into a shuttered school building
