I work in health care but not direct care. I have worn a mask daily since Mark. Been tested 2 times and get temp taken every morning. Have not washed my hands as much as I have. It is those who do not take this serious are the ones I would like to strangle good idea - guess each school will make that call

This is a tough one to deal with having done it for over 40 seasons. I am planning on dong it this year but I will wear a mask and a hat, a long sleeve t shirt for sure, I work in health care so goggles or a mask might be appropriate, disposable gloves, and hand sanitizer. What cannot be controlled is kids who spit as the come off the field or drink water, coaches yelling who might remove their masks. How will the crew work with keeping people back is another one that is never uniform. Let's see how this all plays out in the next 2 weeks.

at this time..........Indy schools not going back in house until October...what happens between now and the 1st games will determine the season. The young men better follow protocals but from what I hear even in workouts that has not been the case

I believe SB plan is voted on next Monday - but they were stating on line supposedly and adding in person

South Bend as of this moment said no fans at any athletic events. Let's be realistic the behavior of the young people and the coaching staff with following guidelines and staying away from large crowds will determine how the season goes whether there are fans or not and every count will probably have their own guidelines to follow.

If you play as planned do you allow any fans in the stands?

Is just feels weird with the everything going on around us. Will school start on time? Will the season even start? The trend in St Joe and Elkhart Co. is not very good currently. I wonder how schools will be able to handle a potential outbreak among their team. Sure I want football to be played but will it. How will it feel to play a game with no fans in the stands?

How many region teams have shut down? Like 16? What happens when a team is exposed to the virus and they have to quarantine for 14 days? What if this happens once the season starts and teams are not able to play? Right now Marion, Lake, Elkhart, and St Joe Co seems to be the counties with the most cases? How many teams are n those 4 counties? If the number keep growing over the next 14 days things will not be looking good.

Cases are at their highest level. Many people refuse to wear masks to stop the spread. It is hitting the under 40 group in high numbers. Look at the colleges that have had to shut down. I love football but the current situation is almost like what enxt.

I wonder how many schools have not reported it or if the kids have not said anything. Can someone verify Hammond and East Chicago has suspended their sports right now due to positive cases?

I totally agree with you. Until someone younger gets it and passes it on to parents/grandparents and they die will some people wake up that it is not like the flu. I am not 100% of standing on the sidelines with a mask this season as well (if games are even played)

I work in health care and people who think this is a joke and are infallible thinking they do not have to wear a mask, I sure hope you never test positive and give it to our family, parents etc. This is no longer the flu. They best way to prevent the spread is a mask. Plain and simple. While it will not stop it, it helps slow it down. And wash your hands more then normal. I was in Merrillville Friday and with the county with the 2nd highest case load I was shocked how many people store employees and customers did not wear one.

I only know of the 2 sports the individuals were affiliated with not sure about the rest

Last night the South Bend Superintendent that as of this time there will be no fans at any athletic event in the Fall. It is subject to change

I am not sure there will be football if this things keeps getting worse. It started in March and look where we are at in July and we expect it to chance by end of AUgust/.

Has anyone heard if any high school in he state has stopped conditioning due to the virus? Elkhart and St Joe Co. are accounting for 20% of the new cases in Indiana this week. Everyone needs to realize things are not normal like pre -March.

I do not get the rational of why when schools are closing and you have a recognizable name why you have to change things. Name, school colors, mascot. Anderson, Kokomo have closed high schools and they kept the tradition rich name. When SB Central closed they never did any change at LaSalle when the students all went there. I just do not see why all of the changes and maybe I am missing something
