  1. Not much happening with the NIC chatter this week.............
  2. So Ohio went to a 6 game regular football season and St X now has a local parochial school replacing Penn. The ever changing schedule
  3. Do the Elkhart CO schools have the OK to play this week or is it still a Health Dept decision?
  4. May have to venture down old 331 on Saturday
  5. Clay has week 3 open and EC does not St Joe has week 1 open which EC does the rest as of right now have 9 games
  6. SJ AD quoted that focusing on next week but anything is possible If both schools and coaches agree why not This may be a common practice this season
  7. Hey I want football but I also want people to be safe and healthy. When you are dealing with young people it is hard to have them understand their actions will determine the season
  8. So, Penn no practice Wed and Thurs? Do they have enough practices to play Fri night? Wonder how Valpo feels about coming to play them with the virus issue? LaVille in quarantine for 2 weeks ( the whole team) St Joe game cancelled since Heritage Christian has cases Yikes
  9. I am surprised Lake Co, St Joseph Co, and a couple of others with the high numbers are allowing games this weekend. Time will tell how it all plays out
  10. Is East Chicago going to play football this year with 3 games?
  11. SB schools got approved for 600 total including band and cheerleaders Not sure how you supervise the crowd and the distancing Mishawaka said 17% of the capacity whatever that is
  12. Are there any county health departments restricting travel of teams or crowds at games? I noticed where Porter County says no crowds bigger than 100 people unless it is approved. With certain counties being hot beds for the virus I was curious if a team could venture into that county? Craziness that is going on this year.
  13. The social behavior of the young men and women on all sports teams will determine the season The head medical person with the NCAA does not feel playing is safe This morning our local health officer did not say he was in favor of competition There could be some last minute changes/cancellations this week I am afraid
  14. that includes the band and the cheerleaders in the stands
  15. It will be like major league baseball. A game may be called off at any time Student behavior will determine if the season plays out They are saying the 2nd wave this winter is coming - no idea but that is why many colleges are done by Thanksgiving and not going back to February
  16. SB just issued fan guidelines https://wsbt.com/news/local/south-bend-school-corporation-releases-protocols-for-fall-sports
  17. I think you have to watch the data and how many teams have to cancel or suspend the season. Since it has come this far it would be unfair to pull the plug today. Now if next weeks teams are reporting positive cases all over you may need to look at the data. Several schools are not playing a scrimmage to protect their team and staff. Each school/corporation has their thoughts and best way to handle the situation. We need to respect the people making those decisions. Plus now you need to players and staff to adhere to the guidelines and not do anything stupid.
  18. Has NP football been effected by the 20+ students who attended a party at the end of July and have not been permitted back into school? It was on the news last night. Games - close by - could be a win for both SBCSC since know little about West Side other then the only high school left in Gary
  19. All schedules could be a work in progress this season depending on the situation and if any team has an outbreak
  20. The key issue is if they can cross state lines to play.
  21. In South Bend all of the public schools still do that. There is no "home field" on the high school campus. It is 2-3 buses following each other back to the high school
  22. Lot of work - thanks for doing this How many more could happen between now and mid-September?
  23. You can take all precautions and tells kids what to do. But if they do not heed the advice that is the result. I am surprised there is not more in larger cities
  24. Will the schools who are playing teams from out of state (Ohio, KY), will the teams be able to travel into Indiana to play? Will any Indiana team be able to travel out of state? Will Marion CO teams be able to leave the County to play with their own restrictions? I see where the Trinity games with Carmel and Warren Central are off which made me me wonder
