  1. A new name has apparently entered the Michigan conversation. Eli Drinkwitz of Missouri is emerging, while Dillingham tries to decide what he’s going to do. Funny name. At least it’s not “Biff.” https://www.si.com/fannation/college/cfb-hq/news/64-million-college-football-coach-emerges-as-candidate-to-replace-sherrone-moore-michigan-eli-drinkwitz
  2. The ball cannot be handed forward, except in or behind the neutral zone. Right from the rulebook: ART. 2 . . . Forward handing occurs when the runner releases the ball when the entire ball is beyond the yard line where the runner is positioned. ART. 3 . . . Backward handing occurs when the runner releases the ball when any part of the ball is on or behind the yard line where the runner is positioned.
  3. That would certainly make the environmental cleanup companies happy. But pretty expensive.
  4. Eli Raridon has declared for the draft. Good player. I expect him to make an NFL roster. But eminently replaceable.
  5. Where?
  6. I don’t know much about that area. It’s near the I-94/Broadway interchange. Historically, it’s been underwater a lot due to its proximity to the Little Calumet River. They have done a lot of flood control improvements to the Little Cal in the last 10 yrs. or so. So, the Governor is an athletic supporter. 😉
  7. Wonder what his source is. The General Assembly isn’t even in session, and won’t be until Jan. 5. It’s BS.
  8. Yay!! We’re #1!! Seriously, with you as a hater, we must be doing a lot of things right. Good to know we’re living rent-free in that prime real estate between your ears. 😅😂🤣
  9. South of I-94?
  10. At the risk of @Muda69 having an aneurysm or something, I’ve got 2 words for you: eminent domain.
  11. The unwillingness of Merrillville to provide tax abatement incentives is what has prevented White from redeveloping that land, but the site is only 40 acres. Not even close to what a stadium facility would require, let alone the surrounding development thr Bears want to do. The Arlington site was 326 acres.
  12. That would be Gilroy Stadium. A 10,000 seat stadium built in Gary in 1956, never actually finished, and abandoned in 1975. Sort of Gary in microcosm.
  13. On the other hand, the Illinois Legislature has proved they are very capable of screwing this up. One big question for the Bears ought to be “which place will have the most politicians with their hands out, Illinois or Indiana?”
  14. So far, only 3 Irish have announced their intention to enter the transfer portal when it opens Jan. 2: 2nd string QB Kenny Minchey, preferred walk-on QB Anthony Rezac, and oft-injured backup CB Chance Tucker. Minchey is a good player. Rezac hasn’t seen any action in his 2 years at ND. Tucker played some in 2023, but was out all of 2024 with an ACL, and broke his fibula early in 2025.
  15. It’s fitting that a QB going to Notre Dame is good at the “Hail Mary” pass. 😅😂🤣
  16. The Bears Arlington Heights property is 326 acres. But only about 100 acres is for the stadium facility, with the rest being developed for mixed use retail surrounding the stadium. I’m struggling to find a site like that in NWI that’s a reasonable distance from downtown Chicago. For comparison purposes, Gillette Stadium is 27 miles from Boston. Jerry’s World is 18 miles. from downtown Dallas. The 49ers play in Santa Clara, which is 43 miles. from downtown SF. As far as crossing state lines, Met Life Stadium is in New Jersey, about 14 mi. from downtown NYC. The Giants/Jets are the only ones with stadiums in a different state, unless you count the Commanders, whose stadium is in Landover, MD, which is about 12 mi. from downtown Washington, DC. The intersection of I-65 and US 30 in Lake County is about 30 mi. from the Loop. The Bears’ Arlington Heights site is just about the same distance from the Loop. So, is this real? Or, are the Bears just trying to light a fire under the Illinois Legislature with this talk of going to Indiana?
  17. Other than Kenny Minchey, I haven’t heard of anyone going to the portal. But it doesn’t open for ND players until Jan. 2, and stays open until the 16th.
  18. A shorter drive for @Coach Nowlin. 🤣
  19. He declared today. Next man up: Aneyas Williams. But he will be pushed by some talented underclassmen.
  20. One factor is the widely heeled belief that the AD’s days are numbered. Would a coach take a job not knowing who his boss was going to be?
  21. If they had a field mic they would. But regardless, time out information should be communicated to both sidelines.
  22. What about Jadarian Price?
  23. The Coach I was referring to was an English teacher. 😂🤣
  24. Yeah … I was lying.🤣😂
