In this case, I believe the right call was made. Luers fans are reeling right now. I don't blame them. The Knights played a great game, forced some turnovers, but blew a two score lead with less than 2 minutes remaining. Luers fans...........there is light at the end of the tunnel. No one will touch you guys next year. Ring it up now.

I'll never understand why a coaching staff elects to play conservative at the end when playing conservative isn't what got them all their points in the first place. In the end, it was the conservative play calling when Luers last had the ball and the numerous penalties on the Knights in the 4th quarter.............none bigger than the penalty on the fair catch. Anyway, congrats to Indy area teams. Possibly the first of six champions crowned from the area. On another note. Don't feel sorry for Luers. They will steamroll 2a next year. No one will stop them.

I would be on board with it. East vs West looks pretty balanced. Only three times in the last sixteen years has the north produced a team that could rumble with Indy's best from within a touchdown. Both Snider and Penn in 2015. Snider in 2004. One could also argue Valpo and Dwenger in 2019, but that was 5a.
-
East vs West Zionsville moves up, Snider moves down. East: Warren Central, Noblesville, Fishers, Hamilton Southeastern, Homestead, Carroll, Lawrence North, North Central, Columbus East, Columbus North, Warsaw, Carmel, Westfield, Lawrence Central, Franklin Central, Indy Tech West: Ben Davis, Brownsburg, Zionsville, Center Grove, Lafayette Jeff, Avon, Pike, Chesterton, Portage, Crown Point, Lake Central, Southport, Perry Meridian, Penn, Elkhart, Merrillville

I was just about to agree with you on that...............kinda funny actually. But Gipper made a good point. It's still a baskeball school for sure, just not much tournament success to show for it.

I thought IU had a recent class that was ranked in the Top 25.

The one thing I always appreciated about Michigan was their above average standard for student athletes. Not on par with Notre Dame, Stanford, and Northwestern, but not far off either.
-
I must be out of the loop. Tom Allen is already making 4 million. Can a program like Indiana afford anymore? Allen is Indiana though and through. I'm not sure he would take a higher paying position elsewhere. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.............lesson learned from the Rich Rod debacle.

The San Juan instant was actually pretty funny.

Some will remember him for his temper an tirades. Others will remember him for his multiple championships, graduating his players, and playing by the rules.
-
IU struggled mightily with that from the time the fired Mallory until they settled on Allen.

Play the #3 team on the road to the final seconds and drop 3 in the rankings? I give up.

For whatever reason, the AP, Coaches, and the Committee will forever remember the 2019 Notre Dame team for how they performed on the road during a hurricane.............bless their little hearts, I guess they just don't understand things. So what if they took Georgia to the wire on the road. Who cares if they dominated what was suppose to be a good Virginia team. The 52-10 pasting of #20 Navy? Who cares. And then the complete and absolute demolition of what was suppose to be a VERY good Iowa State team. You know, the team that came with one of Iowa, two of Baylor, and one of Oklahoma? Yep, that's right. Notre Dame waxed them 33-9 in an absolute blowout. Good enough for the Top 10? Guess not. Like I said.........bless the pollsters little hearts, much learning to do. Kudos to Michigan, they get bragging rights over the Irish in head to head competition until they play again. And give Michigan a pass for Covid in my opinion. This is just a strange year and the Wolverines are fighting injuries and player defections. And as much as I hate to say it, give Harbaugh a pass too. By this time in his career at Michigan, he should have done more by now. But, I still think there could be light at the end of the tunnel if he completes a total evaluation of his team like Kelly did after the 4-8 season.

Agree. Hard to argue that. -

You enjoy bringing up the Homestead/Noblesville game in 2019. Homestead was bored to tears that game. In the players mind, they were traveling two hours to play a "nobody", and it showed in their performance. They were mentally unprepared for what Noblesville brought to the table. They came back the next week and outplayed Carmel for a half without their best player. Carmel's depth was too much to overcome in the end. I agree, there is a gap between the SAC and the HCC, I'm just not sure how big it is. This isn't the 90's anymore. Yes, there was a time that the SAC would have cleaned the HCC's clock. But present day, the HCC lays solid claim as the states second best conference. Glad to see ya back Temp. -

I watched the Westfield/Homestead game. I was impressed with the Shamrocks. Make no mistake, Homestead has a pretty good team and the game wasn't close. And what they did to Merrillville Friday night was equally impressive. Good luck to them against CG.........I think it will be a good game. -

Respectfully disagree. The HCC's 5th best team beating the SAC's best was definitely an upset. Dwenger traveled two hours and Zionsville played catchup the entire game despite several Dwenger turnovers. Cathedral beating Dwenger by two touchdowns, I agree is debatable. Cathedral is arguably the states best team playing in 5a. No one is in their league. -

I don't think there's anything bold about it. Zionsville beating Dwenger was clearly an upset. Watch the game again. In the end it really doesn't matter, no one is beating Cathedral. But Dwenger would have given them a closer game than Decatur Central, Whiteland, and Castle did. The Irish will do to Zionsville what they did to the other three. Cathedral/Dwenger would have looked something like 28-14. -

I'm willing to bet that Westfield is a much different team now than they were when they were waxed by Cathedral in week one. They are the underdog against CG for sure, but honestly, it wouldn't surprise me Westfield won this game. Sagarin has CG by 14.........I'll take the Shamrocks to cover. I feel like Cathedral's best competition in 5a emptied their lockers a week ago. Zionsville is in big trouble. Good for them for getting there, but this game won't be close. I don't think it will be a total embarrassment, but I like the IRISH by three touchdowns.
