I will add that while it will take a miracle for OV to lose Friday against Pike Central, I think they will have some trouble with a (likely) Danville team. I would love to see Pike Central win...it would be their first sectional in history. They have NEVER played this many games in a season in school history.

The "For the Record" stuff. This is a very appropriate game for these 2 to meet in the sectional final. The oldest rivals in the PAC and historically speaking, the top 2 teams in the PAC. Our record against Southridge is 38 - 16 which makes them our closest competition over the last 50 years. It has been a bit more even over the last 10 years. None of that matters this Friday....this should be a slobberknocker and look a little different than the first one earlier in the season. Southridge is an extremely well coached, disciplined team that is crazy fast at virtually every position. Heritage Hills has improved since the last time they played, the question is, how much have they improved?? Should be a great environment in the jungle Friday night. HH vs Southridge SECTIONAL 32 CHAMPIONSHIP Friday, November 4th 6:30 pm CST Kickoff **EARLY KICKOFF** @ Heritage Hills High School - The Jungle HISTORY OF THE MATCHUP Southridge (10-1) @ Heritage Hills (7-4) Heritage Hills High School - The Jungle Friday, November 4, 2022 6:30 pm CST Kickoff **EARLY KICKOFF** This is the 55th time Heritage Hills and Southridge have met on the gridiron and the Patriots lead the series 38-16. I too expect this to be a close game. With that said, Southridge is scary good. After seeing Southridge and Gibson Southern both play, I was surprised that that game wasn't much closer. Southridge is fast at seemingly every spot and very disciplined. We played better on the line against Charlestown than we had all year. We will need to play even better this week....Charlestown was a good team, Southridge is excellent.

Pike Central had a good run in 1986 (I think), and they actually won the PAC--this is the only thing they have ever won any kind of anything in football and I believe they have only been in the semifinal twice in school history. Being in the final is a first. In 1986 they lost to us in the first round, I believe it was 20-0 or something like that. -

Indeed. It doesn't seem like it has been 7 years since we last played. I am looking forward to what I'm hoping will be an excellent game. It appears you all have a solid team this year. -

The one loss we had against them in 2015 was unfortunate. We were up pretty big, controversial call.....blah, blah..... The bigger problem was that Kenton Crews was sick in that game and hacking his guts up in the huddle. Dude was not well. All in the past, need to focus on Friday and getting the W. I want a rematch against Southridge in the Jungle. -

Isn't he at Kentucky now? I believe he graduated last year. Indeed, I saw that and also found it a bit odd. -

How would the OV offense compare to Southridge, in your opinion? -
Gibson Southern (10-0) at Owen Valley (10-0)
HHPatriots replied to Titan32's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
That is what most think will do the trick against GS, but it won't work. GS needs about 45 seconds to score, I'll say it again, they are fine with you burning the clock between punts. Against GS it is defense and bringing pressure on Boyd. If you can't win at the line, you won't win. D-Line has to be 110% and your DBs have to be good--not necessarily fast, but they need to spent some time watching film. GS routes are excellent--you don't have to be crazy fast if you are a great route runner. -

At the half I believe it will be close. At the end, this could be 3 or 4 scores. OV is a good team. BUT, good and elite are two vastly different things. Coach Hart will man handle these guys by the end. -

2022 3A outlook
HHPatriots replied to DumfriesYMCA's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Not to mention there are probably more Catholics on GS team (or HH for that matter) than Chatard's.....sorry, couldn't pass on that one, all the Chatard folks don't get too wadded up... Everybody wants Bama, until they get Bama. We have had a bunch of close heartbreakers with Chatard over the years and just one win. Frankly, it doesn't bother me at all when they are in 4A, makes 3A more interesting. Be careful what you wish for. Playing Chatard in the regular season and the postseason are 2 different animals. -
Gibson Southern (8-0) at Boonville (6-2)
HHPatriots replied to Titan32's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
As bad as Boonville would like to win this game, especially on Senior night (at Boonville, right?) I highly suspect this will be at least a 3 score game. Boonville's QB is very good, but Coach Hart will shut him down. This will be one of the scores I will look up tonight and if it is a running clock, it won't be much of a surprise. That is probably why it has gotten so little press. This is in no way to be offensive toward Boonville....they are a pretty good team. GS is in a different place. A game that would get some press? Gibson Southern and Reitz. That is a game that many would like to see. -
What if the sectionals were seeded?
HHPatriots replied to crimsonace1's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
Here is a crazy idea, what if the sectionals were not only seeded but what if you had to have a .500 record (or something like that) to be in the tournament at all? Oh the horror!!! Indeed, the regular season meaning something, there is a thought. -
Makes sense....I recall they gave us a heck of a game in sectionals in 2014.
-
What is the year on that? Is that mid last decade? 14 or 15ish?
