Actually our incoming freshman and sophomores are really talented. We will see where that goes. Goldsberry is a freshman. He is 14 years old, 170 lb, 5' 10" and runs like a freight train. The potential sophomore QB is as fast or faster than Sigler was, but the difference is that this one can throw and throw pretty well.

As you know, it is hard to tell much this early. To your QB comment. I can tell you how that is going to go....."hey! who is the most athletic senior? It is your job!" To be honest, I don't know where that will go, we have a sophomore QB that I believe would be excellent, but he will likely only see 3rd and 4th quarters on Friday nights. Looking forward to the season....my kid told me they have another scrimmage Monday at Reitz.

The weather was definitely nice and enjoyed the pads poppin again. It was enjoyable going up against people we never see during the year.

We (Heritage Hills) have one tonight at Evansville North

Yes, assistant role....they are glad to have him back. Guy at work from Ferdinand (Forest Park) told me today, with a wink, that Bob Clayton was applying for the Forest Park job. LOL....I told him if that happened FP would probably decide they couldn't play football anymore. Not sure kids today would handle getting kicked in the rear (physically HARD!) when they didn't get off the ball fast enough or having a clipboard broken over their head. But hey, don't knock it, such things make great football teams. BTW....saw Coach Clayton last Friday night at the Chateau....looks pretty good for an old guy. Wasn't terrifying at all....

We also have a little QB competition amongst the youngins.

The Patriots are feeling good. Feeling VERY young but good. That is the problem with a young bear, they are the most dangerous because they haven't been whooped yet....what happens to them after they get whooped.....that is when you see what you actually have. It is always fun when an incoming freshman takes his first hit from a man (a varsity defense) and how he reacts to that. How's things in Ft. Branch?

New Sectional Assignments
HHPatriots replied to Coach Harvey's topic in The Indiana High School Football Forum
I think it is beneficial for the 3 heavy hitters in the PAC that HH, GS, Memorial (in 4A so doesn't matter) and Southridge are spread out a little bit. Mount Vernon is the only team that has a hope of competing with GS in that sectional and that is only if they have the increase that we all keep hearing about. As for us, Southridge is our oldest and most competitive rival (historically speaking) so that is always fun.....but not much else in the sectional. Charlestown can get a decent team together from time to time, not sure about lately. Last time, I think (not sure), we played Charlestown in sectional was in 2014 when we lost to the eventual state winner Tri West in semi state. They were decent that year--my memory may be messed up on that. I'm happy with this realignment....not that anyone cares. -
I sure hope he goes with Purdue....but these kids move a bunch now.
-
I'm hoping he redshirts.....that will mean more playing down the road. Hopefully the kid that shows up from Louisiana the following year doesn't change things. He is apparently a duel threat.
-
This is a bit off topic, but Brady Allen threw a touchdown pass in the Spring Game this past weekend. Just a Purdue fan happy that a local kid may have a shot at QB in a year or two....Boiler Up!

So to swap back to more of what I'll refer to as a "Sellers Offense" should be fairly easy?
-
I would hate to have to be that guy....the next guy after this guy, sure, but not the one to step in right after #18. I mean even if you are above average, you aren't going to be #18.
-
I heard GS stole him from Memorial. To be honest, from my view this fall we will be ok...should be a 1 or 2 loss team in regular season and somewhat competitive for sectional. 2023 and 2024 we should be VERY good.
-
Hey, give us a shot here on the big side...that tall skinny kid will be wearing black and gold this fall.
-
Yeah, I knew they played Tell City. SS would be a good matchup for them for sure. Southridge will be rough no doubt. But it happens...
-
How does Tecumseh stack up in the small side of the PAC?
-
That wasn't the implication. Washington wouldn't want to jump from the frying pan to the fire. this was just make believe anyway. By the way, Washington's current middle school squad is good.
-
There is NOTHING to this...but I like 812's thinking...nice conversation piece, although I'd want to swap out Washington.

Congratulations Brady Allen Mr Football

We have had more athletic QBs since Logan, but I'm not sure we have had a better QB since Logan. In the last decade of quarterbacks (again, not running QBs), he is likely the best one we have had in this last decade. And yes, that was a fun year. shoulda, woulda, coulda, but we should have won state that year. I guess you know that feeling..... -
Congratulations Brady Allen Mr Football

Indeed, I haven't forgotten the Scheller/Sellers boys, they were all tough. To be honest, I really envy the development of the QB as GS. In case anyone wasn't paying attention, we typically ask the question, "who is our most athletic senior?", CONGRATS you are the QB! Sometimes that is the answer, but most the time, if you want to make deep runs, you must develop the young guy. We have a current freshman that I would think would be the go to guy, and a 7th grader that could take over right after him. Gut says it won't happen. -
Congratulations Brady Allen Mr Football

Congrats 18. Boiler UP! I going to enjoy you in the Black and Gold MUCH more (instead of dropping dimes on us)!!! Kid deserved it. -
Don't be a jackass and develop a sense for sarcasm. I bet you are a ton of fun at parties.
-
Really? Personally I have never had to worry about whether or not I would be Mr.Football, but you leave high school and life goes on. Bigger and better things. IF you make it (big IF), I just can't see that you would be real bitter about not winning Mr. Football.
-
If you are playing at OSU or any other program that could be a stepping stone to the league, I doubt you would care about winning Mr. Football. I will say it again, we will find out who Mr. Football is in about 5 years. If #18 becomes an elite QB I am going to unleash a big fat "I told you so." by the way, i realize that these kids are still a million miles away from the NFL.
