  1. Putting on my Captain Obvious hat, I think this game can go either way and the team that makes the fewest mistakes, likely wins.  Both offenses can run & pass well enough to put pts on the board and both D's are strong upfront with a crew of LBs who fly to ball and make plays all over the field.  I think Victory will ultimately rest on the Defensive side of the ball.  As another poster already pointed out, this game could come down to whichever team can limits the other's passing game.

My hope is that MD can find a way to get an extra stop, force a TO, or benefit from a miscue by Andrean and find a way to put 1 more point on the board.  It has been a long drought for the Wildcats at LOS but hopefully we can find enough magic to bring it home again.  MD 24 - 21. 🦁

Hoping all fans travel safely and we get a well-played and injury free game for all involved.  Peace.

  2. Nice human interest article on the Boots family from Mater Dei.  The 3 brothers mentioned are just one branch of this family tree, there are many others.  I don't know the exact numbers but I think there have been nearly 2 dozen young men from the Boots family to pass through the MD program over the decades.

Friendly reminders for those that have not yet - you can still donate to the GID this year! Even though we hit the goal of $3,300 - every dollar counts! It is a constant, revolving cost year in and year out. A surplus is ALWAYS good.

To make things interesting, if anyone is willing to take me up on a friendly wager for a donation, I'll take the 6 North teams this weekend and you can take the 6 South teams this weekend. For each South team that wins, I'll donate $5. For every North team that wins, you donate $5. If the South or the North teams SWEEP, lets add another $5.

    Any takers?

I'm in...great way to support the GID and TA's legacy.  I'm certain he will be in attendance with the best seats in the house! 😇

THANK YOU! Any idea if I can access games even after the game is over? For Example, watch two games Friday and the rest Saturday?

If you get the $15 pkg to watch all the games, you have access to all of them through June next year, something like that.  By that time, they will likely be posted on YouTube.  I watched both MD & Memorial last night and the Andrean game this morning and plan to be watching & cheering on the Titans at 5 pm today.

Pretty sure that was a straight flame at the dude running his mouth all week about how our stud doesn't deserve his accolades and recruiting status despite never seeing him in person.  Eastside had a great season and has some absolute studs on their team, but if I had a nickel for every time I heard the phrase "Mr. Football" near the concessions between 6 and 10pm last night I could charter the team bus.  Didn't mention anyone by name.

Copied directly from your post:  "Can you still win Mr. Football if you rush for 13 yards in the semi-state?"

I'm guessing we could all figure out who you were talking about with this comment...and it was not the person you were flaming - which is my point.  This is about the player who had no role in your flame-a-thon.  If "some dude" was "running his mouth", AND YOU WON THE GAME, why not take the high road?  Lowering yourself to that level only reflects poorly on you.  Again, just my humble opinion.  Feel free to ignore and/or flame me.  Been there, done that.

  6. Any discussion of the best programs in Southern Indiana has to include Memorial.  What Coach Hurley has accomplished in his tenure is unbelievable, esp when you take into account the Tiger's success regardless of playing 2A, 3A, or 4A.  Truly impressive.  Starting with the Rupp teams in 2008/09 to Lindauer/Combs teams of recent years, the Tigers have arguably been on one of the best runs of any high school team from the Evansville area.. EVER.  No mythical unicorns in the Tiger pedigree, just hardware.

I would have thought they looked into "private jet" with the cost of gas currently!

As @Donnie Bakerwould say Madder Days is looking good, I swear to god they are! Or is it Mayder Dei? 🤣😂

Or even "Matt-Ter Day" - Yeah, you would think the announcers would at least know how to pronounce the names of the schools involved.....sheesh.  Not too much to ask.  Maybe @DonnieBaker can send them a sound bite so they get it right this week.  He would set them straight, no doubt.. I swear to God, he would.  😎

Make sure you remember to cancel your hotel room for next weekend 🔥🔥🔥

Way to keep it classy with your very first post. SMH

If you want to flame other posters on the GID, have at it, but leave the players out of it.  They deserve far better than to be used for some immature chat board posting.

  9. After a 7 year hiatus, the Wildcats are back at LOS looking for a 2nd State Championship.  This will be the third weekend in a row for the Wildcats & their fans to make the long drive to the Indy area for a football game.  So far, Mater Dei has shown no ill-effects from the nearly 4 hour bus rides and the 'Cats are playing their best football of the season.

Do they have enough left in the tank for one more trip?

  10. Mater Dei's DEFENSE controlled the LOS the entire game.  Scecina did not get a 1st down until their 2nd drive of the 2nd half that would eventually lead to their lone TD.  They would only get 3 more 1st downs the rest of the game.  Scecina D was stout as well but with offense sputtering, the Scecina defense was on the field too much.

The Wildcats & their fans get a 3rd straight week of Nap Town Turn-arounds...LOS here we come!

Only watching this game until both 6A games get going, but already can’t stand these announcers. Pretty sure I heard them call Jasper a 6A school and one of them calling for MD to onside kick after opening score as if they’re some massive underdog.

Yes, real football gene-yusses, these 2.  NOT ; - \    And the the one guy keeps call us May-ter Dei.  Sheeesh, at least know the NAMEs of the teams/schools. C'mon.  Anyhow.  GREAT 1st half by the Wildcats!  Very happy to have a nice cushion.  Stennis can change a game in a hurry.

    Fingers crossed!
