But I don’t really wanna try and comb through all the pages to find out. Can someone supply a list of schools that have postponed their fall sports as of now? And until when??

Maybe im not paying attention enough- but it seems they are all Northern Indiana schools? What’s the deal up there?

I apologize  for my ignorance - but seriously down here in Southern Indiana it’ seems all systems go.

  2. This young man was my next door neighbor when I lived in Missouri.  Awesome kid and an awesome family.  They can use all of your prayers!!  Please let’s take this virus seriously and try to watch and protect our young men, who play the sport we all love!

Mississinewa may become the team to watch in 4A.  With Curt Funk leaving for Fishers, Mississinewa gets a new coach that has retained all of Funk's staff.  The new coach. Kyle Buresh, does not have high school coaching experience but has experience as a coordinator at the College level including running the passing game for Dakota Wesleyan, Indiana Wesleyan, and Wheaton College.  At DWU, he helped lead an offense that was #2 in the Nation and averaged 560 yards a game.  Mississinewa may be young up front, but may be bigger than previous years.  May have multiple 300lb+ kids on the line that are strong and can move.  Running backs return, although the leading rusher graduated, still have experience in the backfield.  Defensively they will be solid.  Mississinewa gets tested early by opening against Pendleton Heights followed by New Haven.  This is of course if the season is able to start.

Mississinewa won’t even win the CIC.  No way they do anything in 4A

Being all-state generally translates into being a decent lineman though.  I assure you there are 6+-foot, 300 lb. kids that did not make all-state last season, let alone start on a state finalist team.  I don't know if you expected this kid to be a 5-star recruit or something but to imply that he wasn't an above-average starter who will be tough to replace is being intellectually dishonest I think.  Either way, I'm surprised you're trashing a kid like this and belittling his accolades.  If you had a player that is an upgrade to this kid that wasn't already playing elsewhere last season then the coaching staff needs to consider what they're doing.  A little better coaching and maybe a red ring or two turn to blue?

Not meaning to belittle anyone.  I just think the Panthers will miss a player or two, but not the one you mentioned.

Well I do know he was all-state last season and 6'4" and 300 lbs doesn't grown on trees.  If Eastbrook can upgrade there, good for them.  I'm guessing its unlikely.

He was all state because he is 6’4” and 300 lbs. Being big doesn’t automatically translate into being a great lineman.

Nobody overlooks Eastbrook in 2A.  They've been to the state championship game in 3 of the past 4 years and should've won it the year (2017) they didn't make it there.

I don't know what Eastbrook has in the pipeline beyond the couple of standout sophomores they had last season.  To a certain extent, it's a plug-and-play type of program but after losing a tremendous class in 2019 and then another very good class in 2020, I'll be surprised if they were to make it back to state this season.  I think replacing Stephenson is big on both sides of the ball.  Kid was tough as nails.  Rice is literally a huge loss and personally I expect to see a drop-off at the quarterback position although I must confess I don't know much about the recruit from Western.

For you to think that losing Rice is a bad thing, shows just how little you know about Eastbrook!  As far as over looking Eastbrook, I mean at the beginning of every season it’s the same old thing and then they wind up going to the state championship.

Let’s not forget it was 7-7 at half and 14-7 after 3. Blocked punt and meaningless pick 6 in the 4th is what made the score what it was. It was a good ball game. Tipton was also playing without their QB and had to move their best WR to QB. Tipton was one dimensional in that game. They now return their whole team and if QB Edwards stays healthy, should be a great year. I have a ton of respect for Eastbrook’s program and Coach Adamson. He is one of the best around. I know they lost a lot of really good players but still expect them to be a really good team again. Should be a fun Sectional.

Excuses, excuses!  You Tipton guys sing the same song every year on here.

Wright was really good.  That said, I think Western Boone would've won 2A without him last year (given an even somewhat competent replacement).  Their line was that dominant against most all the 2A competition they played, including the championship game.  They were able to just run it down people's throats last year.  I think replacing three of those linemen will be even a bigger problem than replacing Wright.  I don't see them bullying teams at the line of scrimmage as much this year.

If they are somehow able to capably replace Foster, Johnson, and the 3rd kid whose name escapes me right now, then they could well make another deep run into the state tournament even with a lesser QB.  I just don't see that happening.  Those type of linemen don't come along every year at public 2A programs.

I agree with you about their line.  QB made that team who they were.  Without that dual threat, they just won’t be as dominant as they have been.  Eastbrook will be a better team this season than they were last year.  I just think the Panthers should not be over looked.  Time will tell.  As far as Tipton goes, the Panthers were 4 TD’s better than them last year and I don’t see that changing this season.

You’re out of your mind! Take Tipton out, move Eastbrook to #1 and move Pioneer to #7.

I think Western Boone should be ranked at the top of any 2A top ten lists until someone proves they can beat them. Two time defending state champs. They are at the top of the mountain til proven otherwise.

You must’ve missed the fact that they will be rebuilding this year.  Unless they have another QB like #7, they won’t be near the threat they have been.

I am more than a little biased as well, but would think that West Lafayette should be under consideration.

    Consider this data:

    • Overall Tournament record - 71-34 (.676)
    • Sectional record - 53-22 (.707) overall record; 14 championships
    • 9 regional championships
    • 5 Semi-State Championships
    • 2 State runner-ups
    • 3 State Championships
    • 2 Hall of Fame Coaches (Gordon Straley & Ernie Beck)
    • 1 Mr. Football (Daniel Wodicka)
    • Current Coach, Shane Frye, has been at WL for 8 years with a record of 86-18 (.826)

West Lafayette should be on that list before Western Boone.

    1.  As for Coach Nowlin in 2017, Eastbrook went into that game against RC ranked #1 in the state as I recall.  RC was not a favorite in that game, quite the opposite.  But if that makes you feel better about choking away the championship in a season you actually were the best team, have at it.

    2.  As for the championship game, this is all well and good except Eastbrook never led 14-0 last season and at no point was "steem" rolling anyone so your memory seems to be pretty faulty.  If you want to deal in facts, here's a link to a box score:  https://www.ihsaa.org/Portals/0/boys sports/boys football/2018-19/2018 2A State Final - Football.pdf

    1st Downs:  Western Boone 30.  Eastbrook 13.

Rushing:  Western Boone 195.  Eastbrook 174.

Average per rush:  Western Boone 5.0.  Eastbrook 3.3.

Passing Yards:  Western Boone 317. Eastbrook 113.

Penalties:  Western Boone 7. Eastbrook 3.  (2 of those penalties were for late hits out of bounds so if you actually remembered the PI you're complaining about, it was the only penalty of the game called on Eastbrook on the field of play all game long)

Turnovers:  Western Boone 1.  Eastbrook 0.

The stats are pretty conclusive.  And that PI that you're complaining about did not result in a touchdown for Western Boone.  But why am I not surprised that someone from Eastbrook is complaining about the only penalty called on them in the field of play all game long?  Probably because some these fans can't acknowledge that other teams are sometimes better and that their team can actually do wrong sometimes.  All programs have these types but man the Eastbrook contingent appears to be one of the worst I've encountered in my time following high school football and basketball.  That's why I had one of their fans wanting to "meet" me in the parking lot after they lost to Woodlan in 2017.

By the way, I like both teams for different reasons and will actually be cheering for Eastbrook on Saturday so I'm not some blind homer talking about situations that never happened to try to justify why his team lost last year.  The fact of the matter is, the #1 reason Eastbrook lost last year, in my opinion, is because your coach overestimated his opponent and underestimated his own team.  The onside kick at the start of the 2nd half totally gave away the momentum and he never got back to passing the ball in the 2nd half except when Eastbrook found themselves in obvious passing downs.  He was shocked he was in the lead going into halftime and didn't know how to react.

Coach Adamson has 280 wins!  How many wins do you have??  Good luck to both teams tomorrow!  Really would love to see Coach A win his 1st state championship!

I've seen no good video on the defensive touchdown.  It's sufficient to determine the pass was certainly a forward pass.  So if that was the justification for it, replay certainly proves it's a bad call.  If the justification is that it was a catch and fumble (a notion I didn't even consider watching the play live), the replay I've seen offers almost no evidence either way on that.  I was standing along the fence at the end of the field on which that play occurred so I had a good view of it.

It was ruled a catch and fumble.  Not saying that’s what happened, just that that’s what the ruling was.
