Coach Funk took over an abysmal program in 2010. No losing seasons post-2011. I played for the man. If there's anything holding Mississinewa football back, it sure as heck isn't Curt Funk.

Go figure out your Pete Gast issue, Alex. All you have to be excited about each week is who is gonna be loudest during your god-awful pre-game war chant thing. Is that supposed to be a haaka? Enjoy your L to Eastern.

    Glad to be back, GD!

I could’ve guessed that you went to Mississinewa.  Obviously you can’t read!  Go back and look, I said that Alexandria is long overdue for a new coach!  Lighten up Francis!

At one time there was a lot of us. Not so much anymore. Anyways who are some key players to look for Friday?

Not unlike every other Eastbrook team, there doesn’t appear to be one player to looks for.  They spread the ball around on offense.  The thing that stands out to me about this year’s team is that defensively they get after the QB and cover the pass better than I’ve seen in recent years.  They’re very disciplined and they take care of the football.

I think I’m the only Tipton guy that posts anymore. I don’t really remember any Tipton people talking smack outside of one guy 7-8 years ago but I could be wrong. I won’t be talking smack. We had a very good team last year that gave the state champ all they could handle and came up a little short. Only 3 varsity guys are back from that team. 2 of them are still just Juniors this year. Everyone knows Friday is an uphill battle. I do know that our kids will be very well prepared and ready to play. If that’s not enough, then tip your cap to Eastbrook and get to work on next year which could be a special year.

I guess talking smack wasn’t what I meant.  It just seemed like there was a large Tipton force on here, without a loss for words.

Mississinewa at Huntington North--Huge win for the Indians over the heavy Sectional Favorite according to the Sagarin rankings.  Delta had an almost 60% chance of winning the sectional followed by Marion at 38% and Mississinewa at 7%.  Huntington North has a total of 3 wins.  Those 3 wins came against teams with a combined record of 2-28. Mississinewa uses this game a tune-up for the Sectional Championship next week as they cruise to a win.  Look for a continuous clock the second half.

Tipton at Eastbrook--Tipton is a young team that plays a lot of sophomore's and junior's.  Eastbrook plays a number of underclassman that have Varsity playing experience.  This game is going to be a closer than one would think but in the end Eastbrook pulls away late in the 2nd half for the win.

Eastern at Alexandria--Is Eastern the real deal?  They are undefeated and beat a very good Lapel team.  This game could be a good close game depending on which Alexandria team shows up.  In the end Eastern wins this one to advance to the Sectional Championship game against Eastbrook.

Union City at Madison Grant--Both teams are on a 3 game winning streak.  MG hasn't lost since their first win.  MG has the tougher schedule of the two teams which will help them.  Beginning of the season I said I wouldn't be surprised to see MG make tournament run and this week the run continues as they advance to the Sectional Championship Game.

Something that could happen but probably won't happen is to have 3 CIC teams in the State Finals.  Wonder if any conference has had 3 teams play for a State Championship in 3 different Classes?  I know 3 teams from the same conference have played in the State Finals but 2 of the teams were in the same class.  Would love to see 3 CIC teams in the State Finals.  Good luck this week to all CIC teams.

Let me get this straight.  Mississinewa won in the first round of the sectional and you already have them playing in the state championship game??  C’mon man!!

Oak Hill and Alex--Oak Hill has had up and downs all season.  Alex got an old fashioned beating last week after getting a beat down the week before.  Oak Hill may have the edge on this one on paper but Alex has a lot of talent that is out to prove themselves on Senior Night.  Alex pulls out a close one this week

MG and Frankton--MG goes on a winning streak this week and hands Frankton another loss

Eastbrook and Elwood--Is there any question on this one?  Question is will Elwood score?  Doubt if they do as the running clock begins after the 1st quarter

Mississinewa and Blackford--Mississinewa is coming off a great offensive week with over 400 yards rushing against Alex.  Blackford had Eastbrook scared the first half last week and forgot how to play the second half. This week Blackford tries to jump out quick but gets shut down as Mississinewa runs away with it this week.

    As far as Sectionals go:

Mississinewa has a tough road to just to make the Sectional Championship

MG may very well win the sectional and at very least play for the title.

Oak Hill depending on which Oak Hill team decides to show up depends on how far they go in the Sectional

Eastbrook will make the Sectional Championship game and will probably go on beyond that but the Sectional is no cakewalk.

Alex and Blackford could make some noise in the Sectional but may struggle due to injuries

Elwood is planning for next year already and hope to win 1 game next year

Frankton is warming up the bus for basketball

You do realize that Blackford plays Eastbrook in the first round, don’t you?

mine: This week.   Personally speaking:  I give a lot of credit for wins vs quality opponents, or even losses against great opponents:   That is why it is hard to gage a team like Boone Grove, they are doing what they are supposed to do it seems, but to me they do not have a signature win...YET, they will have that opportunity week 11 vs Andrean.

Andrean's 3 losses were to 4a #1 New Praire, 4a ranked, 2 loss Hobart and 6a Ranked Merrillville.   They did not give themselves a fighting chance against Hobart with odd night of fumbled shotgun snaps, which was very uncharacteristic.

Mater Dei's 2 losses was to 4a ranked Memorial by 7 and 5a Castle who is having a good year, and they beat Evansville Central.

    Western Boone
    Evans. Mater Dei
    Cass
    Eastbrook
    Pioneer
    Rensselaer Central
    Andrean
    Heritage Christian
    Indpls. Scecina
    Linton-Stockton

give me your 2a top 10

    1. Western Boone

    2. Cass

    3. Eastbrook

    4. Evansville Mater Dei

    5. Pioneer

    6. Rensselaer Central

    7. Andrean

    8. Indianapolis Scecina

    9. Fort Wayne Bishop Luers

    10. Southridge, Linton, Boone Grove
