  1. I’m hoping to be there for it. Just depends on if we can finally get everyone in this house healthy. Allergies, colds, and sinus infections have been kicking our butts the last couple weeks. Somehow we’ve avoided COVID though.
  2. HHC Pick ‘Em Standings (after week 9) @LC_Bears_04 32/41 @Frozen Tundra 31/41 @boilerfan87 30/41 @Owls2005 29/41 @mamasa 28/41 @Olympian06 24/29 (.828) @Uncle Bubba 21/29 (.724) @swcgillespie 14/20 (.700) @Fkfootball 7/12 (.583)
  3. Jennings County wins it with a 2 point conversion with 2:08 left. Jennings County 36 Jeffersonville 35 Final Bloomington South 42 Seymour 13 Final
  4. Still need picks from @boilerfan87, @Owls2005, and @Uncle Bubba. @Fkfootball, not sure if you’re doing any picks this week. I know you did last week so I figured I’d ask.
  5. Week 9 Predictions 5A #4/#5 Bloomington South (6-1) at Seymour (6-2): For the first time in 28 years, the Panthers and the Owls will face off on the gridiron. What was once a conference game back in the now-defunct South Central Conference is just a tune-up for a potential rematch in the sectional 15 championship game. As far as the series between these two teams goes, Bloomington South leads 10-6. I expect them to beat Seymour for a third straight time. BHSS gets the win. Columbus East (4-4, 4-1 HHC) at Bedford North Lawrence (4-4, 4-1 HHC): Big implications in this game as the winner will be HHC champions (along with Seymour). The Stars are looking for their first conference title in 16 years while the Olympians hope to end their two year “drought”. East leads the series 40-11 and has won the last 17 games. BNL is definitely capable of winning this game but I feel less confident in them after last week’s loss at Madison. East wins. Jeffersonville (1-6, 0-5 HHC) at Jennings County (2-6, 1-4 HHC): What originally looked like an automatic win two weeks ago does not look the same now. With the Panthers’ upset win over Floyd Central last week and their close loss at Seymour the week prior, the Red Devils come into this game knowing it won’t be a walk in the park trying to pick up their first conference win. Jennings County trails in this series 30-5 and has dropped the last 11 games. Jeff’s athleticism is always tough on them but I think they break through. Jennings County wins. New Albany (2-6, 2-3 HHC) at Floyd Central (3-5, 2-3 HHC): What a difference two weeks make. After knocking off Columbus East at home on September 23rd and putting themselves in position for their first HHC championship in 19 years, the Highlanders dropped back-to-back road games against BNL and Jennings County. Now, they’re fighting to avoid a potential fifth-place tie with the Panthers. Floyd Central leads the rivalry series 29-25 against the Bulldogs and is looking to avenge the two losses they took from New Albany last year. Rivalry games can definitely be hard to predict. It also doesn’t help that Floyd Central is having injury issues so I’m not even sure who they’ll have available for the game. Nevertheless, I don’t trust that porous New Albany defense to plug the holes. The Highlanders win.
  6. You’re too civil. I was hoping Rip Rogers had taught you a few holds to use on @Fkfootball. 😂 I jest.
  7. Uncle Bubba gets a mulligan. It’s the first time he’s ever complained about something. Pretty much everyone has had bad moments or posts they regret. Bad losses are always emotional and the scenario Bubba illustrated is one that you can understand to be frustrating. Live and learn. I’m constantly doing that with Columbus East in the post-Bob Gaddis era. I know Olympian06 is really struggling with it too.
  8. If Seymour keeps the game close, I’ll be surprised.
  9. In a six team sectional, you have an 8.78% chance of getting a bye six years in a row. Still higher than not getting a bye in a five team sectional over a four year period. 😂 But, yes, the chances of both teams were definitely low.
  10. I’m not saying the drawing is rigged but here’s what I know. Columbus East was in a five team 5A sectional from 2015-2018. The first two years they were in sectional 14 with New Palestine, Whiteland, Franklin, and Martinsville. The last two years they were in sectional 15 with BNL, Seymour, Floyd Central, and New Albany. In a five team sectional, you have a 40% chance of playing in the first round and a 60% chance of getting a bye. The chance of not getting a bye in a four year period is 0.4 x 0.4 x 0.4 x 0.4 which equals 0.0256. In other words, you have a 2.56% chance of never getting a bye over a four year period. Well that’s exactly what happened with East. If the drawing was rigged, you’d look at that and think it was rigged against East. However, having been around Gaddis and hearing about him from many of his former players, it would’ve been rigged for East. Once football season began, Gaddis had a routine and the last thing he wanted was for him and his players to have their routine disrupted. Throw a bye week in between the regular season and the postseason and you have a disruption in the routine. Gaddis did not want his players to lose focus or come out flat so the weekly and daily routine was very strict. Again, I’m not saying the drawing is, or was, rigged but, knowing what I know about Gaddis’ philosophy, it’s definitely quite the coincidence how it all turned out.
  11. HHC Pick ‘Em Standings (after week 8 ) @LC_Bears_04 29/37 @Frozen Tundra 28/37 @boilerfan87 27/37 @Owls2005 26/37 @mamasa 25/37 @Olympian06 24/29 (.828) @Uncle Bubba 18/25 (.720) @swcgillespie 14/20 (.700) @Fkfootball 7/12 (.583)
  12. Madison 21 BNL 14 Final East’s win tonight guarantees Seymour will be sharing their HHC championship. East at BNL next week for a share of the HHC championship.
  13. BNL is now attempting a comeback. Two touchdowns in the last three and a half minutes. Madison 21 BNL 14 3:53 left
  14. Jennings County gives up a huge pass down to their 13 with 7 seconds left. After an incomplete pass in the endzone, Floyd Central goes for a 30 yard field goal with 3 seconds left but the kick is blocked and time expires. Jennings County 24 Floyd Central 21 Final
  15. The 24ish yard field goal is good. Jennings County 24 Floyd Central 21 22 seconds left
  16. Jennings County with a 1st and 10 at the FC 13 with 55 seconds left in a tie game.
  17. Columbus East 42 Jeffersonville 0 End of 3 Jennings County 21 Floyd Central 21 6:57 left Seymour 49 New Albany 7 Final Madison 21 BNL 0 End of 3
