Real interesting week.

2 years ago when Twin Lakes, Rensselaer, and Central Catholic all tied for second after beating each other the deciding factor set up by the athletic directors came down to defensive points allowed by the three teams. Thus Twin Lakes played Heights for 7th place, Rensselaer played Tipton for 3rd place, and Central Catholic played Western for 5th place. Al least that is what I remember from that tie.

Unfortunately this is an administrative screw up. Ever who was assigned to check eligibility missed something. We don't need to know who as this person is already feeling miserable. The bad part is it makes the Lowell administration look bad but really it is just the opposite. They found the mistake and corrected the mistake immediately. I applaud the Lowell administration for taking care of business. Great job Lowell!!!

The School City of Hammond has voted to reinstate fall sports for the 2020 season. It is expected that teams can start practicing Thursday with varsity contests being tentatively scheduled to begin on October 1.

I'm sorry I forgot Coach Bradenburg. He was an assistant on that staff also. I remember playing 1 on 1 games of basketball with him when he was jr. varsity basketball coach to Dave Day. What an athlete.

Rensselaer had 3 HOF coaches on the same staff in the mid to late 1960s. Bill Siderewicz, Head Coach, Chris Geesman of Penn fame as an assistant and Dale Hummer of Fountain Central and Dekalb fame as an assistant. Then there was Joe Burvan who is in Wrestling HOF as an assistant and was head coach at one point with an undefeated team at Rensselaer. That was a staff.

Caston to SN is 66 miles. We travel 80 miles to Hamilton Heights and 71 miles to Tipton. You are correct it is long travel but a lot of conferences have to do it. What's more important to the school? Travel distance and not competitive or travel and be competitive? Lose or keep programs going? What is best for our student athletes? Administrators have tough choices to make.

Caston needs to go back to the Midwest Conference where they were competitive.

West Central administration wised up and realized they were in over their heads and did what was best for ALL their sports teams. Caston would be very wise to follow. They have no business in this conference.

According to a Notre Dame friend the campus will open August 10 for classes with no fall break and will end the semester at Thanksgiving. This is to stop a lot of student travel back and forth.

In many situations, not all, head coaches are also paid for the extra things they do. For example, summer conditioning, extra supervision help, summer camps they put on, running the weight program if there is no strength coach, they are at the top of the pay scale and that dictates % wise what their football salary would be, and some schools make the head coach (not just football) as an administrator because they have to evaluate people and programs (asst. coaches & entire football program) which is a schools right. Having been a head coach and labeled as an administrator and my salary covered EVRYTHING I did related to football, teaching, and supervision, this is quite fair to what these gentlemen are making.
