scarab527 Posted July 8, 2024 Posted July 8, 2024 Interesting graphic I came across which shows the amount of NFL players per 1 million residents of each state. Indiana fairs pretty well in comparison to the rest of the country I thought. 3 Quote
BTF Posted July 8, 2024 Posted July 8, 2024 Better than California, Oklahoma, and Pennsylvania? Not too shabby. Quote
BLACKGOLD2007 Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 (edited) In this scenario we benefit from having a smaller population about 6.8 million in 2022. Where California has a population of 39 million....(fun fact California's population is larger than the population of Canada.) But, still it is cool to see Hoosiers represent in the highest league. tango Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 Any place to find the same percentages for current NBA players? Quote

Not really. Indiana is the 17th biggest state in the union and is comparable to similarly sized states like Maryland and Tennessee in terms of NFL players produced. I’d buy that argument if it came to Wyoming with 500K people, but not with Indiana. Quote

Here’s a Reddit post from 2022 detailing per capita NBA players by state. Didn’t look too deep but I’m sure there’s more updated statistics for this out there somewhere. This one specifically has Indiana ranking 5th in the union. https://www.reddit.com/r/nba/s/1JAnKFZYtF Edited July 9, 2024 by scarab527 Quote
