If I had a vote, it would have gone to Jim Brown, hands down. He was dominant, and his domination continued in his somewhat short NFL career. He wasn't a terrible actor either. I have always been a Notre Dame fan, but Paul Hornung was not the best player that year. You have to remember the time. 1956 was still quite eventful for people of color. Quote

I can roll with that. I get the Hornung argument. I'm wondering about Tommy Mcdonald though. He averaged more yards per carry than Brown did. Might be worth me researching. Maybe it was strength of schedule. Quote
