temptation Posted August 20, 2025 Posted August 20, 2025 I believe @23andCounting gets credit for this one, but I'd like to see Fort Wayne teams set up some contests with the Toledo/Detroit powerhouses. Quote

It just makes sense to me. Fort Wayne is to Toledo as Homestead is to Noblesville with regard to drive time. Two similar type markets, although Toledo is bigger, with Hockey fan bases that can't stand one another. It would be a good border war in my opinion. Dwenger picked up St. Francis De Sales in week two, so maybe that game will create some momentum for more future contests. I like this matchup. Both programs have rich histories, but have struggled somewhat in recent years. Dwenger probably a little more so. East St. Louis is a beast............and a pretty long way away from Fort Wayne, so yeah, highly unlikely. I wanna say Snider scrimmaged them last year down at Westfield. Defense probably held their own, but that's about it. Doesn't matter, a game will never happen mainly due to distance. Quote
23andCounting Posted August 20, 2025 Posted August 20, 2025 Why does Louisville Trinity sit at #50 with no representation from Indiana? If memory serves me correctly, they tend to struggle when they play Indy schools. Quote

As with most teams in this early poll, traditional strength and returning players are the main factors in ranking. 2 hours ago, temptation said: I believe @23andCounting gets credit for this one, but I'd like to see Fort Wayne teams set up some contests with the Toledo/Detroit powerhouses. Talked with some fans from Detroit King several years ago at a Carmel game and they said Fort Wayne schools would not return their calls. Also know that Central Catholic and Whitmer are always seeking games. 1 Quote

Fort Wayne schools were probably an island conference when Detroit King came calling. Driving distance may have been a factor too. The north side of Indy is, on average depending on the school, 1.5 hours. Detroit is 2.5 hours. Public schools? Forget it. Maybe Dwenger. Quote
PHJIrish Posted September 12, 2025 Posted September 12, 2025 Brownsburg is in the upper 30th and Cincinnati St X was 105th. Those were the last two Cathedral opponents! Quote
temptation Posted September 12, 2025 Posted September 12, 2025 Carmel can really put themselves in the national spotlight with a win tonight. Quote
