Correct. I find it humorous that key words get several poster's panties in a bunch. Never did I say that Northrop would give the best teams in Indy a good game. Was simply giving some insight to another poster regarding the Bruins. Good team, but not ready for the best 6A has to offer. Carroll proved that by going up 27-7 before letting off the gas. I love this forum, the entertainment value is priceless.

Well, let's just call it "surrounding area." Football in Indy city proper is atrocious.

Good team but not ready for the best 4A/5A has to offer either.

You think they'd be competitive with Chatard and New Pal?

I don't.

Temp, I’m not letting you off the hook here. Fishers won a state title in 2010, what else have they ever done? Avon? HSE? Lawrence North? Lawrence Central? Franklin Central? Indy football is based on 4-5 programs at the 6A level, the rest are no better than the rest of the state. You can trick yourself into believing those are great programs, I ain’t buying. Just because they share a conference with the blue bloods doesn’t make them a blue blood. Rant over

Because the BLUE BLOODS are directly in their path to accomplishing anything due to geography, lol.

Also, I am not including Franklin Central with those others.  They have to beat CG once in the postseason to earn any stripes.

Placing Northrop behind Jeff and Merrillville = No, they couldn't beat Chatard or New Pal. You didn't understand my statement?

I agree, Northrop would struggle against the top teams in each of those classes.

All this because I said they have a few athletes that would pose a headache for anyone? Geeeeh.

You said, "the best of 5A" which is New Pal.  After that, I disregarded the rest of what you had to say.

No one has hurt feelings here.

"To put into perspective, I'd have them right underneath Jeff and Merrillville if they were a 5A school." That would put Northrop somewhere between 6-8 in 5A.

Not sure where you got "the best of 5A." You apparently took something out of context.

And I replied with the fact that I don't think they'd be ready for the best 5A/4A has to offer either.

I've got Northrop competing with anyone in the bottom half of 6A. Sagarin seems to think they are on par with Ben Davis........for whatever that's worth.

I see Northrop, like I said early, somewhere between 6-8 in 5A. Probably the same in 4A. For the record

So not ready for the best that either 4A or 5A has to offer.

Glad we agree.

I think you read way too much into me saying their offensive weapons would give the best teams in the state fits. Northrop isn't a complete team. End of story.

Love the banter but for someone who frequently calls out “Indy bias” you sure do tend to prop up Fort Wayne area teams with every breath.

The Temp might be picking Dwenger to make a deep run…

Just calling it like I see it. Don't worry, I still have an All-Indy Top 10. Well, almost. Crown Point. But I know you guys hate that. I don't mind rolling the dice with Buzea. He's probably one of the top 5 coaches in the state.

If saying that Northrop has some of the best athletes in the state on offense (see 247) is propping them up, then I'm guilty. I still have Dwenger as a team on the edge of Top 25. I'm just unsure if they have an offense that can take them all the way. I think it really comes down to Carroll, you and a few other posters are ignoring the facts and doing everything you can to persuade people that there are 15 teams in Indy that are better. I'll take that bet. East Noble is starting to look like a coin flip to me. Although very good, I'm not sure they are as good as what I thought they were originally. We'll find out in sectionals when they take on Dwenger. And I maintain that Adams Central could make a case for "best program in state" without apology.

1.  I also have Crown Point in the top 10.

2.  I also have Dwenger as a fringe top 25 team.

3.  I have Carroll ranked 12th this week.

What are we even arguing about here?

Would it be right if we didn't have something to banter about? I guess we're on the same page.

Well Rodney, I'm proud of you for ranking them. Shows that you don't have a disdain for the Northwest.

You often praise my rankings in one breath yet then accuse me of Indy bias in the next.

I think you do a great job with your rankings. And I once dubbed you as the least biased person on the forum. Every once in awhile you say something that's a very hard lean toward Indy and away from the rest of the state. I get it though. Human nature. You're a Central Indiana guy. I get that I'm a bit biased to the North, but I'm also smart enough to acknowledge that Suburban Indy could probably rumble with any suburban area in the country.

Is it really biased if the data bears it out as the truth?

Its not in the least bit controversial to state that the best high school football in Indiana is played within 25 miles of Monument Circle.

I agree with both. Speaking of data, give me some data that points to Westfield beating Carroll head to head.

Glad you asked!

08/22:  HSE beats Carroll 14-7

09/19:  Westfield beats HSE 21-17

09/12:  Dwenger over Carroll 9-6

10/17:  Westfield plays Franklin Central

Okay, I'll go now:

HSE 14, Carroll 7     (without Carroll top weapon on offense)

Westfield 21, HSE 17

Advantage: Even

Westfield 35, Homestead 0     Final

Carroll 35, Homestead 0     Halftime

Advantage: Carroll

See, this is exactly what I'm talking about. That just shows bias in my opinion. You were the one that got the "transitive property" conversation going a couple of years ago. But if something doesn't fit your narrative that the north stinks, you rebuke it. The North has had some good victories after the "show me" comment. And you're still saying "show me." The bias is showing Temp, sorry, it just is.

Can luers hang with carrol

Would it be a good game to attend this week?

Well, being that you like running clocks and utter blowouts, I'd say go for it. If you've never been to a game at Carroll, it might be worth it just to take in the atmosphere. They bring a crowd, great community support, maybe the best facility in the state.

The only good game this week will be Snider at North Side. That's a good backyard brawl almost in the heart of Downtown. That should be a good game with North as the slight favorite. All others will be blowouts.

Leo at Dekalb pits a 7-1 vs 6-2.
