PHJIrish Posted October 12, 2025 Posted October 12, 2025 Reminder, the draw is happening as I type. It's on IHSAAtv.org. only. (at least in Indianapolis) Quote
Sparty Posted October 12, 2025 Posted October 12, 2025 Cathedral already in the sectional championship. Quote

If New Palestine beats Plainfield the Sectional Championship will be at New Palestine. If Plainfield beats New Palestine the Sectional Championship will be hosted by Cathedral. I would say New Palestine is the heavy favorite to beat Plainfield. I would also say Cathedral is the team who most needed to play Anderson to start the tournament. In order to get somewhat healthy they needed to catch a break. Quote

Said it in the preseason, and I’ll say it again… Poor Plainfield. Quote
BLACKGOLD2007 Posted October 13, 2025 Posted October 13, 2025 Sectional 1 will be interesting. This will be the third year in a row CP comes to Freed Field. Two years ago we had that amazing barn burner where CP blocks a field goal at the end to win, and last year Penn got boat raced at home against a much better CP. I think Penn is improved from that team, but I still think we may be a bit of a dog in this game. CP -14.5 is where I would have the line. I just don't see how Penn's schedule has prepared them for this matchup. Quote

I would agree, but I have seen crazy things happen in the past. 2000 Cathedral @ Plainfield comes to mind. Cathedral back to back State Champs in 98 and 99 look to be on cruise control in 2000 going 10-0 and crushing opponents. Quakers pull out a surprising victory that surprised everyone with a 14-7 second round sectionals victory. That was a different built Plainfield team though, I think New Pal is much better than Plainfield though. Quote
