Raised money for the university, improved facilities across the board etc. It's unfortunate but he's ultimately going to be judged on the performance of the basketball program which has been a massive disappointment during his tenure. Although he didn't hire Crean, he gave him unwarranted extension after a single year and ultimately held on to him too long. Still too early to tell on Archie, although with a new AD he may not have as long a leash as originally thought. Needs to make the tournament this year. Quote

Didn't you just advocate that you were in favor of Allen's extension? What's the alternative? Let him walk, hire an unknown and pay him $2-3mil a year and watch them win 4 and 5 games for eternity? But there is just as good a chance it will go bad as it will go well. Im concerned about Rutgers and Maryland. Im a huge believer in Schiano and expect him to have quick success. maryland is full of talent, they are just poorly coached and the program has had many setbacks. They will get that fixed. Im not convinced that what Allen has done is sustainable. History says it is not. 7 years is a long commitment. But it also shows total faith in the current direction. Quote

It'll be 2-3 years minimum before Rutgers is even competitive. Their roster is HORRID and that isn't going to change overnight. Chris Reynolds (former PG under Knight) who is Bradley's current AD is my preference but I think they'll take a strong look at Pat Kraft from Temple. IU alum who was previous assistant AD at Indiana a few years back. He seems more qualified than Reynolds. Quote
