Football wasn’t even my favorite sport in HS BUT there has never been anything during or since then (even in my college sports days) that comes close to feeling as magical as Friday nights did those days.

"Boys of Fall," but yes, it on it's own is pretty awesome. Unfortunately it got played waaaay too much, so personally I'm a bit averse to it now.

What has always struck me, and Smith refers to this in his piece, are the little things you remember or things that take you back. For me it's every time I hear "Crazy Train." That was part of our pregame routine: come in from warm-ups, Lord's Prayer, "Crazy Train," Coach Ryker talk, hit the field. Home and away, didn't matter, we brought a stereo, typically one better than our opponents...😉
