Irishman Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 I have loved this place for as long as I can remember. I still remember as a kid going to see regional games here. The atmosphere was unreal back then. It is a shame that Barry Collier gave high schools the boot though. It is still nice to see it in the spotlight as a part of this tournament. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/03/26/sports/ncaabasketball/hinkle-fieldhouse-indiana-basketball.html?action=click&auth=login-google1tap&fbclid=IwAR0gFrO3vn7KhOJzrgxUNKacWHHSNrwM3HQZV2oB7nqpSt-P34yrJNCkaK8&login=google1tap&module=Well&pgtype=Homepage§ion=Sports Quote

My son and I were watching Hoosiers the other day, then the NCAA's at HF. I waited to see if he put "2 and 2 together". Sure enough, he noticed the sight lines and said, "Hey, that's the same place." BTW.....IMHO, every basketball player in the state of Indiana (maybe the country) needs to watch Hoosiers, or at least know the story of Milan. 1 Quote
southend Posted March 27, 2021 Posted March 27, 2021 There were so many facilities, across the state, rockin back in the day, with Hinkle being one of them. Man the basketball memories. Quote

Semi state games there, they were almost unavailable for most people to get into until after the morning game's were over. Then you could get tickets from the loosing teams fans leaving after the game in the parking lot. Lol Quote
