The game was not at Lawrence Central?  That's not what it said in the paper.

Just noticed that http://www.almanacsports.com/football/coaches.php?team=LAF_CC has the LCC 2017 coach info missing.

Don Coller was the head coach of record at the start of the season.  Went 2-7 and retired in mid-season around mid-October.  Jeff Onken assumed interim head coach duties for the final three games of the season, going 2-1, with LCC finishing the season 4-8.

No... Ther was a rule to determine who got hm field for the Title game.... it alternated between the North and .South.... 76 was a North yr....

The Ihsaa has it wrong and it is wrong on Rudy's page and in the newspaper.  When did they stop doing that?  In 1981 I don't think they did that.

They have Don Coller 1985-2017.  They messed up!  Coller was there in 85-86 and 2017.

It was that day.... n Never trust a kicker!!

I don't think LCC had a kicker in 1976.  It looks like they went for 2 most of the the time.  Were you at the state game in 1976?  I don't know who is older, you or foxbat?  Both of you must be about 90 years old. 🙂

I wouldn't be surprised to find out I'm older, but I've only been in Indiana for about 21 years, so I wasn't here for the '76 team.  I was in Texas when the bi-centennial rolled around.  And before anyone cracks a joke, I was not alive during the centennial.

I have never been wrong before in my life. 🙂 Seriously, I tried to change my post, but it won't let me.  LCC had all three of their playoff games in 1976 at home.  I don't want any wrong info on my topic.  Danny Anthrop's aunt was a long time history teacher at LCC and wouldn't like wrong info.  Lafayette turns 200 years old in 2025 and sports is a part of that history.  Everything must be correct.

At some point it switched from rotating to being at a designated site. I'll have to double check my research 🙂

The game was stopped with 6:27 left in the 3rd.  A Seeger player put a late hit on a LCC player and the LCC coach was very upset.  LCC coach was ejected and did not leave the field after being ejected.  The game was stopped and Seeger fans were throwing things at the LCC bus as it was leaving.  The LCC player that was hit died some years later.  I don't know if the hit had anything to do with him passing away.
